So I pull up to school in my little Honda Civic today to pick up my math and my English packets that the governor of Louisiana is making us do for "distance learning" during the coronavirus. 

They hand me my brother's packet for 6th grade, and my sister's packet for 4th grade.

The principal looks at me, "Oh, Ashlynn, we're going to give you both packets for 11th grade and 12th grade, since we know you'll want the extra work." I try not to let my smile falter as instead of one packet, she hands me four. "We know you're going to do them anyway."

"Sounds good," I say as I drive away, "Thank you."

And then I'm suddenly regretting ever being an overachiever.
