Not even a minute passed by when I felt someone heaving heavily. I crawled on the roof of my balcony toward the edge to see Chang climbing up the rope with a tight visage.

Once his upper body was on the balcony roof, he scowled at me and completely hauled himself next to me. "Here you go. Your favorite "annoyed" expression is resting on my face." He rolled his eyes, trying to mask his upcoming smile.

"Umm... now that I think about it," I mumbled and tapped my chin to feign that I was really thinking something through. "I like your smiles better." I grinned.

Shyly, he bumped his shoulder with mine. "Shut up."

I began laughing at his cuteness and he turned his head away. I knew that he was smiling secretly so I tilted his face in my direction and there it was. His laughing smile was present there.

"What are you doing?" He chuckled and put his hands on mine that were resting on his cheeks.

"Just catching your smile before it goes away," I mumbled, leaning my forehead against his.

He closed his eyes but his smile was still present there gorgeously. "I don't know what you're waiting for then."

Giggling, I gave him a light peck and pulled away with a smirk.

Chang quickly opened his eyes to give me a dry look. "Very funny. Haha and my stomach hurts, haha." He rolled his eyes, pouting.

"Aww," I teased him before he wrapped his arm around me and I put my head on his shoulder.

Silently, we both watched the dark skies dotted around casually by the bright stars. Maybe darkness has always been comforting but the demons also chose to take that very same comfort. But finally I was feeling at peace and I couldn't ask for more.

"I never got the chance to tell this to you personally but I was pretty damn floored after hearing your rap at Coachella," he complimented quietly.

Since everything was chaotic yesterday and my parents had come to the cabin as soon as they could, it got all boisterous. Everyone kept on talking over the voices of the others until nothing made sense anymore.

Chang and I had decided to meet each other on the roof of my balcony and now I understood why. Maybe he wanted to compliment me personally and that thought in itself made my heart flutter in happiness.

"Thank you, Chang, I'm honored to hear that from you," I said, smiling sleepily. Just then, I yawned loudly, not caring about being embarrassed for it.

"Serenity?"

"Hmm?"

"I wanna tell you something..." he trailed off, sounding nervous for some reason.

"Go ahead," I urged him to speak up with a wave of my hand.

"I like you."

Just those three simple words and my sleep disappeared somewhere in the darkness of the night. Those cute little butterflies were the first one to dance about in ebullience inside my stomach while I felt something good in my chest. I couldn't tell what it was but it was a wonderful feeling.

"Say someth-"

"Chang?"

"Yeah?"

I looked up at him with sincerity shining in my eyes. "I don't like you," I joked.

He saw it too because he narrowed his eyes and began tickling my sides. "You're mean." He wiggled his brows as I squirmed away from him, laughing like a witch.

"Stop it!" I giggled. 

Obliging, he still held me in his arms to pull me in for a long kiss. He bit my lip, asking for an entrance and I gave it to him eagerly. As our tongues fought against each other, those beautiful sparks graced themselves on my body. I could never get tired of this.

I pulled away to take huge gulps of air and looked at him again. "I like you too, Chang. Like for real," I mumbled against his lips. 

Without thinking twice, he kissed me again before saying, "And that right there made my heart happy."
