Serene and Janessa Characters
Be prepared: This chapter is going to be long, with descriptions of each character. You can skip if you want, but at least glance to get an idea please :)
Also---a lot f the things listed here are just to get you started---these characters develop a lot more in the actual story, a lot more levels.)
Janessa De Vil:
Janessa is the older daughter of Ellie and Carlos. She's in her Junior year of high school in this book. Picture above is really good---just picture her with a snarky grin, blue eyes and curly-ish black hair tipped white. Her style is more Isle-ish, with jeans she wore holes in herself, and ratty T-shirts and leather jackets. (She likes wearing her Dad's old jackets best).
Janessa is the 'cooler' older sister. She's loud, reckless, and one of the most popular kids in school. Much like Sera, she has a serious attitude and laughs easily, teases relentlessly, and is competitive. Janessa is very protective of her family and friends, and uses her whatever she can (including her powers, which she inherited her Mom's blue-fire side) to both protect people and for her own amusement. She's here to have fun, and rarely takes things seriously. Even with that, she's EXTREMELY powerful, hard to beat when it comes down to it.
She's best friends with Max and Isla, but acquaintances and friends with pretty much everyone else. People call her Nessa, Jan, or Jenna.

Serene De Vil:
Serene is the younger daughter of Ellie and Carlos. She's starting Freshman year at Auradon Prep in this book. Silver-blonde hair, brown eyes. Fair skin, not tanned or anything. Wears clothing more simple but cute, dresses and skirts and the like. Tends to wear blues-silvers-greys like that.
Serene is kind of like Ellie was before the VK's. She's not nearly as bad, but she's a little people-shy and a insecure about herself, annoyed that people normally recognize her for her older sister, Janessa, or for her parents. She's not an introvert, exactly, she just plans ahead for worst-case scenario more often than not, and that makes her worried something will happen, so she doesn't take risks often. Serene's one thing she's sure of about herself is her powers. She inherited her Mom's darker side of Hades' powers---the kind with the shadows, and transporting and all that. Serene is closer to her father than she is to her mother, because Ellie's learned to be more adventurous than she is. She's a very strong character when it matters, but more often she'll bend to pressure and let things happen to her rather than fight it. She has a kind of harder soul, learned to live in other's shadows.
Serene's best friends are Brietta and Lucy. She goes by either "Ree" from her friends, or "Reenee" from Janessa.

Princess Isla:
(I also was going to use Demi Lovato as Isla---neither are perfect, but this one is slightly better, I think)
Isla is the daughter of Mal and Ben (I'm guessing you know the reason behind her name XD) Isla is starting her Junior year. Her natural hair is long, wavy, and brown, but she dyes it often, in colors of gold, green, blue, or purple. You never know if she's going to walk in with purple hair one day, green the next. She has green-blue eyes that flash vivid green like her mom's did when she uses magic. Her style is like Janessa's---cool and Isle-like. Jeans, leather, jewelry and the like. She does wear Mal's jacket from D2 quite often, and the simple tiara that signifies her as Princess.
Isla is bold. She doesn't have a care in the world. When she was born, Ben decided that her coronation should take place when she was eighteen, not sixteen, to give her more time to be a child while she could and not worry about ruling. Isla dreads the day she turns eighteen, because she knows she'll have to settle down and rule. She plays pranks, skips class, doesn't take anything seriously at all. She wants to do all she can before she becomes Queen.
She is best friends with Janessa and Max. Doesn't really have a nickname.

Princess Brietta Hook:
(Both pictures are good---IDK why I put two, just thought it'd be more descriptive?)
Brietta is the daughter of Audrey and Harry Hook. She is a sophomore in high school. She has long, perfectly wavy dark-brown hair and striking silver eyes, pale skin. Heavy makeup, but perfectly applied. Likes to wear pink, glittery and flowing, dresses nearly all the time. But not like princessy pink, a little edgy too, like a leather jacket and silver accents on the dresses. The prettiest girl in school, she turns heads but doesn't notice.
Brietta could be as popular, if not more, than Janessa and Isla, but she prefers being further back. Brietta used to get harassed because of everything that happened with Audrey, and that made Brietta a more independent soul. She's blunt, stubborn, and sarcastic to the point that you never know if she's being serious or not. Brietta can be violent, but when it comes down to it she wouldn't hurt anyone by choice. Brietta is a strong character, because she thinks she has to be. She loves that she has magic, but hates that people assume she'll use it for the same thing her mom did.
(Brietta has magic because when Audrey had the staff, it left some residual magic in her and then transferred it to Brietta. Brietta can't do any magic unless she has a place to output it---like a wand, or staff---so she doesn't use it often or rely on it.)
She's best friends with Serene and Lucy. Goes by "Bri" or "Mini-Hook" by some adults.

Max:
Max is the son of Jay and Lonnie. He is a Junior. He looks an athlete, fit and tall. He has dark hair, dark eyes, basically looks like his parents. He has a crooked smirk like his dad. Dresses like his dad, T-shirts and jeans with sleeveless leather red jacket sometimes.
Max is part of the popular group, he's fun and loud. He's nearly hopeless in all his classes except English. Jay taught him to steal young, so he's just as good at it as Jay was, but he only does it for fun, not to be mean. He has a serious crush on Brietta (almost as bad as Carlos was with Jane in D2). Another thing about Max is, like his parents, he's in a lot of sports. Tourney and fencing.
Max is best friends with Isla and Janessa. No nickname.

Lucy:
Lucy is the daughter of Gil and Brit. She's a Freshman in high school with Serene. She has the kind of eyes that look different in light---sometimes blue, sometimes green, sometimes brown-hazel-ish. Lucy has long, brown-blonde hair. She has a simple, sweet style. Summery clothes, even as close as she can get in winter. Flowers in her hair, beaded necklaces and anklets, clothes with her own embroidery in them. She always has her dad's lucky bandana on---the brown-orange bandana he was wearing the day he came to Auradon with Brit.
Like her clothes, Lucy has a very summery personality. Lucy is a very gentle character, as sweet and innocent as you'd expect a child of Brit and Gil to be. She is loyal to a fault, the peacemaker in most situations, but can get angry if pushed hard enough. She doesn't like being the center of attention, but around her friends she's funny and a book-nerd. Lucy's obsessed with reading, diving into fantastical worlds where the world's problems no longer exist. She reads at least three books a week, because she doesn't feel right letting one go too long without being finished. She also is the kind of person to not stop a book once she's started it, because she has a committed mind. Even if she doesn't like it she will give it until the end. That's how she is with people, too. She tries not to judge by first impressions, unless you really tick her off.
She's best friends with Serene and Brietta. Looks up to Brietta as her hero. Goes by "Lu" from her friends.
(BTW---Lucy is my favorite character I've created in this---Idk why this is important---I just wanted to say so :D)

ODD CHARACTER OUT:
Hayder, the son of Omar and Jane. (Jane, daughter of Fairy Godmother. Omar is the Genie's son from Aladdin.)
He does not have a picture, because I could not find ANYONE to portray him the way I wanted to. He is an important character, though.
Also YES his name is H-A-Y-D-E-R. Means 'brave', or 'lion' in Arabic.
Hayder is a Sophomore in high school. Looks like a miniature of his father but for the flecks of silvery-blue in his eyes. Copper-gold skin, longish dark hair that barely hangs in front of his eyes, a smile that barely shows except for a few times. When it really matters. Wears normal clothes, warm colors that don't pop out in a crowd.
Hayder is a quiet kid, kind of sitting back and observing. He has powers from his parents, can grant wishes occasionally and use his magic for other ways as well. He stays more in the background, doesn't stand out at all. He watches and listens, learning about his surroundings and who everyone else is rather than telling everyone who he is. He doesn't have any friends, but is friendly to a few people.

Slightly Minor Characters:
These are the characters that don't play AS huge of roles, but are still there and still important.
FYI---Both Finn and Eleanor's characters lived in Scotland for most of their lives, came to Auradon Prep for Eleanor's Freshman year.
Prince Finn of DunBroch:
Finn is the son of Hans Jr. and Maira. Sophomore in high school. Taller for his age, freckly and with dark brownish-rust-ish hair. Not very curly, more perfectly styled. Bright green-blue eyes. Likes to dress nicer, to impress Eleanor, (Elea, he calls her--Eel-ee-uh) he is very protective of her, thinks of her like a little sister.
Doesn't pay much attention to people. He's an amazing shot with pretty much anything, had to be banned from sports unless they're for fun. He's a bit snobby, but not overdone. He is not a jerk, but he's just a little bit too competitive and likes to act cool because he doesn't think anyone would like him, since he's the new kid. He's not self-conscious, per se, but does care about what other people think about him.

Princess Eleanor:
Eleanor is the daughter of Endora and Chad Charming. Freshman in high school. Long, curly-wavy golden-blonde hair and dark green eyes. Easy smile, deep dimples. She likes to wear floaty green, gold, or blue outfits that mirror her inner child, princess dresses and tiaras. Tutus and gowns and the like. Paints her nails strange colors, always wears sparkly jewelry and tiaras.
Like her mom, Eleanor has magic, and is VERY talented at it. She has her own wand, but can do spells without incantations sometimes. Like her mom, she's amazing friends with the clan DunBroch, friends with Finn. Everybody teases them about liking one another, but they feel more like siblings than anything. Eleanor is kind of airheady, she's obsessed with fairies and mythical (not so mythical in Auradon, I guess) creatures. She floats around her life, smiling and enjoying who she is. Eleanor isn't anywhere near as blunt or bratty as her parents could be, she's a little angel who can do no wrong.
More Minor characters:
(Edit: I found someone for Danielle! And these characters have evolved to be bigger parts to the story, so I'm including them now.)
Danielle:
Danielle is the daughter of Evie and Doug. She's a Junior, fashionable style, dresses and the like, but a practical too. She dances a lot, it's her way of life, she loves doing it more than anything and wants to be on Broadway one day. Wears a mix of blues and greens. Long, brown-blonde hair, chocolate brown eyes. Prefers to wear a very worn pair of converse with the signatures of all her friends all over the rubber sides, silver and blue pair. She's friendly with pretty much everyone, but tends to hang out with Evan.
Evan: NO PICTURE HOPING TO FIND SOMEONE TO CAST AS HIM THOUGH
Evan is the son of Evie and Doug. Sophomore in high school. Not AS huge of nerd as his dad, but close. Looks a lot like his Dad, short brown hair, blue eyes, bow ties and sweaters. He and Danielle hang out together a lot, but Evan pays more attention to everything happening around him than he does to what's right in his face. He can remember what outfit everyone wore to their first day of preschool, but won't be able to notice when he's wearing two different shoes until his sister cues him in.
There may be future characters I may add, but considering I've written a little less than half of Serene & Janessa already, I sincerely doubt it.
The first real chapter of Serene & Janessa should be out soon---I'm rereading it like fifty times to make sure it sounds the way I want it to. :)
