Chapter 2
Chapter 2
"Who are my friends that killed hers?" I asked. A sad glint shone in his eyes.
"I'm assuming you heard about the legends of the shape shifters in your tribe." He asked to which I replied with a nod.
"Well their all true, now the current alpha is Sam Uley. We have a treaty with them, we don't enter their land." He explained.
"So I can't see my family again?" I asked which he replied with a sad nod. This was my life now. I would never be able to see my family or just be myself.
"I know this is a lot but you can always stay with us. We'll love to have you part of our family." He said.
"No, I wouldn't want to be a burden." I smiled and looked away.
"You wouldn't be. Please stay." I nodded, where did I really have to go?
"You need to feed." He said as he noticed my hand on my neck. I was so hungry. There was this burning sensation in my throat that seemed to ignite a fire that I couldn't put out.
"Come, let me teach you how we hunt." He offered me a hand which I hesitantly took. It was comfortable, fatherly. I felt safe with him.
Everything was different now, clear and beautiful in such a heavenly way and yet I never felt more monstrous.
Hunting had been easier than I thought; my body kind of took over like I was a different person. It was a monstrous act but I knew that I needed to learn control and learn how to walk before I could run.
...
"You did very well," Carlisle told me with a fatherly smile. It was very... comforting.
"It felt wrong. I've always wanted to help animals and now I feel like a monster." I admitted, if I could cry, I would be sobbing by now.
He didn't say anything but instead pulled me into a hug. It felt nice, it was more than my father had done. It had always been either Rachel or Jacob... I was kind of forgotten.
"Come, let's meet the rest of the family." He patted my shoulder.
With my new found speed, getting to our destination was easy but I wanted it to be longer. I felt nervous and just as we arrived I felt a wave of calmness wash over me.
"They're very excited to meet you," Carlisle explained as the voices started getting louder.
"They're finally here, I wonder how strong she is?" I heard someone say while another responded, "I'm just happy to get another sister, I hope she lets me dress her." I'm pretty sure that was Alice.
Carlisle led me into a room which resembled a lounge. It was very open and yet cosy at the same time.
There they stood awaiting me. "Rhea, this is my wife Esme." He introduced first. She was just as pale as the rest, with black hair that fell in ringlets, framing her face only making more beautiful. Her aura gave off a motherly vibe and felt warm and welcoming.
"Welcome dear." She said softly with a smile.
"Next is Emmett and Rosalie." He said introducing the giant muscular man and beautiful blonde.
"Welcome to the family sis." Emmett stepped forward and wrapped his around my small frame.
"Hi." I squeaked in surprise but hugged him back.
"It's nice to meet you, Rhea." Rosalie said and smiled while everyone looked at her in surprise.
"What? I can be nice." She defended and stepped back.
"I'm Alice, as you already know. I'm so happy to have another sister." She squealed and fluttered around like I imagine a fairy would. I smiled and nodded.
"You'll get used to her. I'm Jasper." The man next to her introduced himself. He was so...calming.
"Unfortunately Edward isn't here," Carlisle said with a sadden expression.
"I've met him before when I dropped off Bella's birthday present," I explained but with my words, everyone froze. They looked so uncomfortable and sad.
"So what were you doing before..." Alice asked me trying to change the subject.
"I was studying to become a veterinarian. I actually finished." I told them with a smile. I had always wanted to work with animals but I guess that would have to stop.
"That's amazing, Why animals?" Esme asked. I'm sure they could see my eyes light up as I spoke about it.
"I've always had a connection to animals, ever since I was little. I guess I'll never get to use my degree now." I sighed.
"Why not?" Emmett asked.
"I'm sure you'll be an amazing Veterinarian, you'll just have to wait to get control of your thirst and then you can start practising," Carlisle said, reassuring me.
"Yeah, plush I've seen your future and you're a really good one." Alice squealed.
"You can see the future?" I asked with shock.
"Yep and Jasper can control emotions while Edward can read minds." Alice's smile dimmed when she mentioned Edwards name but quickly lit up again as she continued.
"Maybe you have one too. We can go to Eleazar." She said. Huh, maybe I could have a power. That would be interesting.
"But first things first, your style is good but we can build on it," Alice said with what seemed like an excited glint in her eyes but to me, it looked evil.
"Her style is fine Alice." Esme smiled at me and patted her arm.
"Leave me and my project." Alice narrowed her eyes at everyone.
"But I like my style," I told her with a pout.
"You'll like it, even more, when I'm done," Alice said a then drifted away, almost daydreaming.
"What did you see," Jasper asked her as he laid an arm on her back.
"Nothing bad." She smiled and then looked at me.
"All good things come in time." She smiled at me. I guess I'll just have to wait and see.
