1 / ONE turning loneliness into art.

June Jimenez had always been one to keep to herself.

Always watching everyone from afar, wondering what being part of the big crowd would feel like, yet staying as far away from it as she could.

For years June struggled to find her own voice. In everyone's eyes, she was the quiet kid, the one who they would say, "Oh, look, she does speak," every time she dared to share her opinion without fail; and, because everyone in her life viewed her that way, she too, at some point, started believing that was all she would ever be — the quiet kid, the uptight kid, the one person who never managed to fit in anywhere — until she reached seventh grade and her music teacher changed everything.

Without Mr. Solis' guidance, June would have never found solace in her art. It'd been he who sparked that interest in music inside her, who showed her the ropes of everything she would soon dedicate her life to. If he'd never insisted on her taking that guitar home for the weekend, lied and told her it was his and not the school's just so she would, she might have never written that crappy song in the back of her old school notebook, and she might have been stuck in her hometown forever.

Turning her loneliness into art was what ultimately saved June. It'd been what got her to pack her bags, and move to a city where she knew no one to chase her dreams; what got her to sign a record deal by the age of eighteen; and what ultimately led to her having a record-breaking, multiple Grammy-winning, debut album at the age of twenty-three.

2 / TWO a little daydreaming never hurt anyone.

June Jimenez had made herself a career out of being a hopeless romantic who's never been in love.

Countless songs she's written about just that — the lack of romantic love in her life, her constant daydreaming about strangers on the street who merely looked her way and she'd already made up entire love stories with them. It was pathetic, she knows. But what else was she supposed to do as a girl in her twenties, surrounded by loving couples, than hope for the moment she got to experience it on her own?

It wasn't that she'd never tried before — she very much had — but rather that she seemed to be extremely unlucky when it came to it. Through high school no one had ever looked her way twice; she had her first kiss at eighteen at her first college party; she'd never dated anyone before; and every person she'd ever liked had never reciprocated her feelings.

         Tucker Pillsbury, for as long as she'd know of him, had just been a friend of a friend — the two had never spoken much, never getting past the general greetings and introductions. So, when June found herself all alone in Paris for fashion week, and he'd been the only familiar face in the room, she did the only thing an overly shy person with her anxiety levels would do: attach herself to his side.

He was never supposed to be more than a companion for that one week, but, the love-obsessed idiot that she was, June found herself blushing every time he said her name or found him searching for her in the crowd, laughing a little too hard at his jokes, and just aching to be by his side at all times.

         She would be a liar if she said she hadn't found him to be attractive before, but, as long as she'd known him, he'd been the guy with the long-term girlfriend — only, now, he no longer was. It wasn't that June thought that meant she now had a chance, she was more than aware of her track record, but a little daydreaming never hurt anyone.

         And, who knows, maybe, just maybe, this could be the time June Jimenez finally gets to fall in love...
