"I- I am not so sure anymore about this Nushkie, let's go." Virat said dragging her hand.

Anushka stopped him and said chuckling "Vi wasn't it you who coerced me into this, you can't chicken out now."

"Don't worry I trained you to act. You'll slay the role." She added flexing, Virat just rolled his eyes and went inside the restaurant.

They had booked their usual restaurant and had told the manager to make some people sit as customers so it doesn't become obvious.

Anushka followed Virat inside and sat on a table which was near to them but not so noticeable.

Trisha wasn't there yet and Anushka met Virat's eyes who was very nervous and gave him a reassuring smile and a thumbs up.

Virat felt something loosen in him seeing her being there for him. "Remember who you are doing this for and you'll not make any mistake. That is how much you love him." Anushka said laughing.

That lightened him more and now he was definitely ready. He straightened when he got a message from the manager about her arrival.

Anushka turned a slight bit away and put on her mask and cap ready with everything.

She noticed that trisha was really pretty and now that she thought of she had actually met her before for a brand collab.

She seemed sweet and pleasant to work with then "But Ritsy is the best!" She thought to herself and decided she hated trisha for whatever she did to Rohit and Ritika such good people.

She was pulled out of her thoughts when Trisha slipped in the seat in front of Virat.

"Hello Virat, long time no see!" She said forwarding her hand for a handshake and Virat shook her hand. And Anushka couldn't help but feel her insides tightening.

"Hi Trisha, tell me what you'll like to order." Virat said and when a waiter came she ordered a cold coffee and Virat ordered a kale smoothie on which both Trisha and Anushka cringed.

"So what is it that you wanted to talk about?" Trisha asked and Virat for a second fumbled and looked at Anushka who blinked her eyes in reassurance.

Virat put on his confident persona again and asked "So I actually wanted to ask you if you'll be my girlfriend?" 

Trisha's eyes widened and she shrieked "What the hell are you talking about?" Virat just said "Shh calm down let me explain it to you." and passed a glass of water to her.

She hesitantly took a sip and nodded at him to continue "So see this is all going to be a pr stunt. I know that you were dating Rohit and then you guys broke up. So if we date it will create a lot of noise and it will be good publicity for both of us." Virat said.

Trisha immediately shook her head furiously and said "How could you even think of something like that? I love him and he's your best friend." 

"He was my best friend not anymore you must have read the newspaper." Virat cringed internally and continued "Also weren't you the one who left him, and as much as I know he has a girlfriend now." 

Trisha was flabbergasted "So all of the news was true??? How's that possible? You guys were joint to the hip all the time. I didn't believe it and brushed it off as stupid rumors." she said.

"Shit happens Trisha, I would not like to ponder over it. We have moved on from that pathetic friendship now." Virat said aloud and "Oh god Ro do forgive me, what am I compelled to say eww." he thought to himself.

Trisha was still shocked but slowly nodded her head and said "Ok I guess then. And yes I was the one who left him but I realized that I can't live without him and how much I love him seeing him with that woman." 

"But they love each other." Virat said almost rudely, how dare she say things like that about the people he loved.

Trisha raised an eyebrow and asked "But you guys aren't friends anymore na, how do you know?"

"We um we are still in the same team you know, we are forced to spend uh ample amount of time with each other to know that." Virat fumbled trying to cover up and Trisha bought it.

Anushka sighed a sigh of relief, she thought that he was almost exposed now. He looks so cute with flushed cheeks and that black shirt she thought to herself. And as if she caught herself, she shook her head and tried to concentrate again.

"You don't worry about that Virat. I have made sure that I get my Ro back." Trisha said smirking and Virat had to tamp down the urge to throw something at her.

"Oh how?" Virat asked and when she was gonna say it she looked at the phone kept in his pocket and stopped. Virat reluctantly pulled it out and switched it off in front of her and kept it on the table.

Trisha gave a nod and said "I wouldn't have told this to anyone but now that you guys aren't really friends it won't really hurt. I sent his side chick-" 

"Ritika" Virat interrupted "Huh?" Trisha frowned "Her name is Ritika" Virat emphasized. Trisha shook her head and continued.

"Whatever, I sent her our old texts and phone calls. I also made my Ro say things which aren't true right now but were the truth in past. And I am sure he'll remember his love for me again, I know how miserable he was when I left."

"I even did a show of it in front of Ritika so she'll know, she was dumb enough that she fell for it after hearing the half conversations. How could she even think Ro my Ro would cheat on anyone." she said and tsked.

Virat looked towards Anushka briefly who gave him enthusiastic thumbs ups. He abruptly stood up and said "ENOUGH!" which made Trisha flinch.

"You know Ro loved you so fucking much, but you just cheated on him like nothing and now after almost 2 years you come back when he's finally happy. I saw him suffer so much and you are right he was miserable but I am fucking proud to tell you that I pulled him out of it."

"He then met Ritsy who herself reserved and unknown to those feelings taught herself and him the real meaning of love. He was finally happy and you barge in and do this shit? No I won't allow that at any cost, I'll protect my best friend always." he said firmly.

"B-best frien?" Trisha stammered "Obviously!! I won't leave my Ro to be miserable like you did bcoz I love him and you don't, what you categorize as love is not love it's just obsession. You knew he was happy but you came to ruin it. No one in love would do that." Virat completed.

He walked towards Anushka and held her hand. She removed her mask and Trisha's eyes widened "Anushka? What's she doing here?" she asked Virat.

"That's literally none of your business. Just know that we have the proof we needed against you to show Ritsy." Virat said and Anushka showed her mobile to her and the clip she had recorded.

When the clip ended Anushka said "If you had really loved him na Ms. Trisha then you wouldn't have ruined his happiness for your selfish reasons. You would have let him go knowing where his happiness lied." 

Trisha stood there dumb founded and Anushka pulled Virat out and the heard in the back ground "Ma'am your coffee" "To heck with your coffee" and they both laughed out aloud.

When they reached Anushka's car Virat was grinning very wide and giddy with happiness like a child. He abruptly hugged and lifted Anushka up "THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU SO MUCH BABY!!!!" he yelled twirling her around.

Anushka also laughed and hugged him back tighter, as if realizing what they were doing Virat kept her back on the floor and Anushka sobered up. They realized that they were standing very close and it felt like a deja vu.

Virat caressed her face but this time his hand rested on the side of her neck and her hands were in his hair. The intensity between them was crackling and both of them could feel the zoos erupt in their stomach.

When their lips were a mere breath away and they could smell the peppermint and strawberry Virat's phone pinged consecutively for 5-6 times. They immediately pulled apart and Virat groaned in frustration.

He checked the notifications and it was Mahi. The texts varied from how are you to where are you to where is ro to why is he not picking up my calls to are you guys in hospital or police station.

Anushka had gone inside the car now trying to calm and cool herself down. She felt like she was experiencing all of this for the first time and it was kind of overwhelming. She needed advice but whom she had planned to take advice from was herself in crisis. 

She shook her head and sat with a silly smile on her phase replaying what happened few moments ago in her mind.

Virat rolled his eyes and typed out a message "Bhai are you trying to cover for all the times you did not text us? Also don't worry we are fine I'll call you in a while."

Little did he know that everything wasn't really fine and he was gonna be the one worried too.
