Chapter Eight
Their parents are forcing him

Jaxs POV

I walked into the store and I saw Mattheo standing there playing with his rings and twirling the pen in his fingers

"Hey Jax" he said as he looked up and smiled at me

"Hey Theo. I thought you weren't working tonight" I said and I walked to the shelf of herbs and found mint amongst them

I quickly grabbed it and walked over pulling my debit card out from my phone case

"Mint?" He asked holding it up after he scanned it

"The orange mint drinks me and my brother like" I stated and he nodded his head

"Ohhhh okay, your total is $2.36" he said and I swiped my card then I put in my pin and waited. It told me to take out my card and I did putting it back into my phone case

"Want your receipt?" He asked holding it up

"No I'm good, bye theo" I said as I walked out of the store

"BYE JAX!" He yelled as I walked out and back to my house. I walked in and saw Allison siting on my couch in her big poofy Halloween costume

"Uhhh hi" I said questionable and her head snapped to my direction

"Hi!" She said and I put the mint on the counter as she grabbed my shoulder

"What's up?" I asked her and she smiled at me

"We're going to my house, come on" she said and then she dragged me out of my house and towards hers

"I've been so bored passing out candy alone for the past hour" she exclaimed and then opened her front door walking in

"Well why didn't you come get me?" I asked closing the door behind me as soon as I walked into the house

"I knew you and your brother were talking and I didn't want to interrupt" she stated

"What was that about anyways?" She asked as she walked up her stairs to her room and I walked behind her. We got to the top of the stairs and she turned to me

"Oh Umm I'll tell you later" I stated and then we walked into her room and closed the door

"Why aren't you wearing a costume?" She analyzed as she looked me up and down

"Didn't have one plus there's really no point" I told her and she shook her head

"No point?" She questioned

"No one trick or treats at my house Alli. Everyone but my teachers and friends believe that me and Marcus killed my parents" I stated and she scoffed

"Yeah well they suck" she said and then we heard a knock on the door

"Trick or treat" we heard two voices, I know those voices

"Jack pot, whoa" Dani said as her and max rummage through the candy bowl

"Max Dennison" Allison announced as we got to the top of the stairs

"Allison" max said yanking his hat off

"Ohhh, Allison, huh?" Dani said and I smiled

"Hi dani" I said and Dani's attention turned to me behind Allison with my hand on her lower back

"JAX" she said

"I thought you weren't into Halloween" Allison asked

"I'm not , I'm just taking my little sister Dani around" he said and grabbed Dani's hand bringing her over to us

"That's nice" Allison said

"I always do it" max said and me and dani looked at each other

"My parents made him" Dani exclaimed as I said at the same time

"Their parents are forcing him" Dani giggled and I held my hand out as she low fives me

"Do you guys want some cider?" Allison asked

"No" Dani said politely

"I agree it's overrated" (not my opinion but jaxs) I said and dani nodded her head

"Sure" max said. I and dani scoffed, Allison walked over and she grabbed a cup for herself and him

"Thanks" he said as he grabbed the cup and downed some of it

"Damn thirsty" I asked and dani laughed as we both smiled at each other

"So, how's the party?" Max asked

"It was boring and then this one got here" Allison said and wrapped an arm around me as I smiled at her and max

"I've got candy duty" Allison exclaimed and then walked over to the basket

"By the way , Dani, I love your costume" Allison said and I smiled

"Me too" I told Dani and she smiled at us putting down he candy bar and wiping her hands off on each other

"Thank you. I really like yours too, of course, I couldn't wear anything like that cause I don't have any, what do you call em max, Yabos" Dani said and I chuckled as max choked on his apple cider

"Max likes your yabos. In fact, he loves em but you probably lie on jaxs all the time" Dani said and she whispered the last part but I heard her and slightly elbowed her as she laughed

"I'm really into witches" Allison deterred the conversation

"Really? Me too, we just learned about those sisters in school" she said and I smiled at her

"You mean the Sanderson sisters?" I asked her

"We know all about them , Allison's mom ran a museum and my brother told me all the stories growing up" I said and Dani licked her lollipop

"There's a museum about them?" She asked

"Yeah, but they shut it down because.." Allison said and then turned to me

"A lot of spooky things happened there" I said leaning down and waving my fingers in Dani's face

"Well why don't we go to this old Sanderson house?" Max asked and I stood up as Dani mouthed no

"Oh come on make a believer out of me" Max said

"Okay, let me get change. They'll never miss me" Allison said and i stood there for a second

"Dani, I got you. I'll protect you unlike your brother okay?" I said and she nodded her head at my words. I started to walk away

"Max , we're not going up there. My friends at school told me all about that place , it's weird" Dani said

"Dani this is the girl of my dreams" max exclaimed staring up the stairs

"So take her to the movies like a normal person" Dani said

"DANI!" Max said and leaned down aggressively

"Look just do this one thing for me and I'll do anything you say. Please? Please, please?" Max asked

"Okay . Next year we go trick or treating as Wendy and Peter Pan with tights or it's no deal" Dani said leaning down and then went to walk away

"Okay, okay. Deal, Deal" max said

"But don't get your hopes up because I'm pretty sure Jax and her have a thing" I heard Dani tell him

"What?" He asked and that's when I turned the corner and waited for Allison to change
