Sana:kya hua shefu,itni jaldi kyu bulaya tune?

Shehnaaz said climbing down the stairs as soon as she saw Shefali standing at the door of her own apartment. She had got a call from Shefali just telling her that it was urgent and she needs to come down fast.

Shefali:I will tell you,just come with me now

Sana:bata toh sahi

Shefali:uncle and aunty are in Mumbai,in your apartment

Shefali said as soon as she stepped inside the car and sat on the driving seat as Shehnaaz sat on the passenger seat.She heard Shefali's words and her eyes grew wide and her jaw dropped to the ground.She couldn't believe what Shefali said so asked her again.

Sana:you mean my mom and dad? They are here,seriously?

Shefali:yes Sana,your mom and dad

Shefali said emphasizing on your mom and dad and started driving towards Shehnaaz's old apartment .It took 30 minutes to reach Shehnaaz's apartment but Shefali took her car because her phone was blowing up from their calls and messages since morning .Shehnaaz sat on her seat still in shock thinking just one thing .

How I am gonna face them?

Sana:Shefali tu nahi ruk sakti mere sath,mom dad se bhi mil leti na?

This was the actual reason ,the actual reason was that Shehnaaz was nervous to face her parents after so long.She didn't knew if they were the same or not and also she was in a dilemma thinking if she would tell them about Sidharth or not.

Shefali:ruk jati baby but office mein kaam hai aur tujhe pata hi mera boss mujhe aese treat karta hai jaise main hi ek employee hu uski,khotta........aur I think tujhe situations dekh ke decide karna chahiye ki tujhe Sidharth ke baare mein batana hai ya nahi

Shefali said indirectly answering her question. Ofcourse she knew about Shehnaaz's and Sidharth's relationships and was happy for her bestfriend knowing Sidharth would be the best for her.But that didn't stopped her from thinking that how will the society and her own mom and dad will accept it.One thing she knew that she will support her bestfriend no matter whatever happens.

Sana:okay

Shehnaaz took a deep breath and knocked on the door after Shefali left.She was really regretting now giving them the spare key to her apartment .She put up a fake smile and waited for the door to be opened but her smile soon dropped when it got opened by her mother's angry face.

Sana:hi mom

Shehnaaz said and was going to hug her when her mother didn't waited for her and went inside.Her heart broke with just that small action but she composed herself and entered closing the door behind her .

Sana mom:Shehnaaz, you don't live here?

The question so direct without any fumbling and so early made Shehnaaz shock but she replied.

Sana:yes mom actually when Shefali shifted to her apartment, I missed her so when I couldn't take her absence anymore, I moved in with her again

Lie.It was lie but seeing the current situation Shehnaaz didn't got any courage to tell the truth.She saw her dad sitting on the couch so moved towards him and sat beside him.This was her dad ,never interfering when her mom is saying something or scolding her.He thought that she knew the best.Little did he know that he had such a big misunderstanding.

Sana:mom,dad when did you arrive and why didn't you called me?

Sana mom:we thought to give you a surprise but here we were only surprised

Sana:mom,now you are exaggerating........I was missing Shefu and I was also used to her presence around me so I shifted

Sana mom:I was telling you Rajesh not to buy two apartments because I knew she would end up with Shefali only at the end

Rajesh:Soumya calm down,it's okay if she want to live with Shefali

Sana mom:yeah right

Saying so,Shehnaaz's mom sat down on the couch and didn't spoke anything else.All of them sat in silence and Shehnaaz knew that something was going in her mom's mind.She was right also.

Sana mom:you are coming with us,Shehnaaz

Sana:mom,you can't be serious

Shehnaaz shouted and stood up from the couch looking at her mom directly who had a straight face.

Sana mom:I am serious when you don't have any work only here then why will you stay here?........I see your account also but you don't do your work also properly

Every word pierced Shehnaaz's heart and all she wanted was to cry but she controlled herself .She was not that weak.She gathered her courage and replied to her mom.

Sana:so you are spying on me now?

Sana mom:that's not spying ,that's taking care of your own children

Sana :mom ,no you two cannot come into my life and start dictating me how to live my life.........I am an adult and I know what I am doing and what not am doing

Shehnaaz said being frustrated. Her mom's instant decision triggered her.She couldn't leave her happy home here and go back to that place where she only felt loniless.She could not leave Sidharth and most importantly her dil ka tukads.

Sana dad:Shehnaaz, we need to talk......you can't talk to your mom in that way

Shehnaaz's dad said in his vouce filled with authority making Shehnaaz shiver.But she knew if she will not take a stand now,she will never be able to do it .She wiped her tears that had rolled down and looked straight at them ignoring her aching heart.

Sana:all anyone does in this family is talk ,nobody ever listens

Sana dad:we are listening now,Shehnaaz

Her dad said calmly giving her one chance to speak and she took that chance to speak her heart out.

Sana:my whole life I have been expected to be perfect

Sana mom:that's not true,Sh-

Sana:It's the truth mom.no crying in public ,no physical affection.I felt like I was a glass doll that you both were scared to touch.........every night I waited for you mom to come and give me my goodnight kiss and hug but you never came but I still was happy with the hugs that you gave me on my birthday.I was never loved.I made myself so perfect thinking that one day you both will smile proudly at me and say we are proud of you,Shehnaaz.........people don't love crowded places,those loaded metros but I loved it because there was a chance for me to hold your hand,mom........and dad,I never got to hold your hand also because your friends and  business associates were around you were just busy with them along with Ajay and they were always around.......it hurt ,it hurt so much dad,my cried at nights alone........I had to almost die to see the love in your eyes,for you to hug me mom and dad ,you still haven't touched my hand till now,have you?

Shehnaaz said finally breaking down into sobs infront of her parents.She felt light but she couldn't stop the feeling that was crawling on her chest.Exposed.She exposed herself to them by herself only and it someway scared her.What would they thinking about her? Maybe that how broken and weak their daughter is.She didn't had the courage to look up but nonetheless looked up and instantly regretted .

Her mom was standing shocked on her place with tears rolling down her cheeks while her dad sat there numb but kept looking at her only making an direct eye contact.

Sana:I am sorry ,I am sorry.......it's all my fault

She didn't waited any more second and ran out of her apartment. She again ruined things and caused them pain.It was all her fault.She came down to the lawn only to be collided to a young girl.When she looked up she was shocked to see that person standing there.

Sana:Samaira?

Samaira:you are leaving?how could you naazu

Samaira asked her and looked at her state.Only one thing that came to her mind seeing her.

How didn't I recognize her real condition earlier?

Sana:you heard everything

Shehnaaz asked shocked because the way ,Samaira asked her she knew she had heard her conversation with her parents.

Samaira:I didn't knew that you were having a serious conversation with your parents.......I just came here because dad had something important work with you,I am sorry naazu

Sana:okay,let's go

Samaira:Naazu, you can't

Sana:what I can't?

Shehnaaz said turning around .She had walked a few distance thinking she will not have to stay here anymore but her heart cried to her asking her to stay there and go to her parents.

Samaira:you can't leave things this way........atleast not for them but for you........you need a closure,naazu

Samaira said finally uttering the words she had thought after hearing their conversation.

Sana:but-

Samaira:I know you are scared but you have to do it,naazu for your own good.........you also believe in a closure rather than leaving things just like that

Shehnaaz couldn't help but nod hearing Samaira knowing she was telling the truth.She knew now why her heart was crying to go back .It needed a closure and was going to give it.

Sana:Sidharth

Samaira:don't worry,I will take care of dad.....you go

Sana:how did you come here alone?

Samaira:by this

Samaira said grinning showing her skateboard. Shehnaaz smiled and waved at Samaira mentally thanking her helping her.She knew now what she had to so wiped her face and moved towards her apartment.

Samaira smiled and kept her skateboard on the ground ready to go but before she that she collided with someone making her stumble and fell on the ground.

Samaira:ouch,what the- YOU?

Sana:hmm,yeah I am fine Sidharth

Shehnaaz said as she was currently on a phonecall with Sidharth. It was late night and she hasn't got her closure yet .When she had returned home ,she found the living room empty and a room's door closed.She didn't knew what to do and hadn't any energy left in her to confront them so directly went to her room.

She lied to him as she was not ready to tell the full truth to him now .

Sid:hmm,so you would be staying there tonight?

Sana:yeah,after so many days I have met them so want to spend sometime with them........what was the work?

Sid:I will tell you once you come back

Shehnaaz sighed in relief as Sidharth accepted her lie.By hearing Sidharth's reply,she was sure Samaira hadn't told him anything about her conversation with her parents and she was glad.They talked for some more time until they hunged up .

Sid:bye and take care of yourself

Sana:you too,take care of yourself ,kiddo and Samaira

Sid:yeah.....anything else you want to say?

Sidharth asked her teasing as he missed her saying I love you to him to which Shehnaaz chuckled from the other side.

Sana:kabhi kabhi bande ko kudh bhi samaj jana chahaye, bina bole

Sid:par iss bande ko samaj mein nahi aaya toh aap kudh hi bol dijeye

Sana:nahi,found out yourself

Shehnaaz said and cut the call without waiting for him to say any other word.A smile formed on her face but it was soon replaced by a frown as tears flowed out from her eyes.She kept a hand on her mouth so that the sound of her sobs couldn't reach her parent's room.Just not her eyes but her heart was also crying silently.Yes,the weight of carrying so much on her shoulders was finally gone but she couldn't feel thr relief as it had left bruises on her shoulder and those two persons,her parents were not there to apply cream on them.Her breathing was getting uneven and before she could have a panic attack ,a hand was placed on her shoulder.She turned around and looked at the person with glossy eyes.

Sana:dad

Dil se dil ka rishta jo hai

Her dad didn't let her say anything else and hugged her close to his chest making Shehnaaz sob loudly.She wrapped her hands around his waist and sobbed happy tears in his embrace.Finally she was in the embrace which she had longed from so many years.She felt the void in her heart finally filling up.

Sana dad:Shehnaaz, I love you my child the day you were born ,do you know who was the first one to hold you? Me........your every success,every work makes me proud and I also tell everyone that how much I am proud of you.......I was raised in a different time,Shehnaaz in a time where love was not showed by physical affection. For me,love was all about praise and care .If only I knew that you wanted me to hold you once in a while,I would happily do it baccha........you are imperfect but still the perfect and best daughter for me ,stay the way you are.......never change

Change,an important essence of life which he had forgot. Change of generations means a change in lot of things which also included the way of showing love.All her life ,Shehnaaz had suffered that problem, the loss of physical affection .Some might say that it's okay if there is no physical affection from your parents but at the sametime who would not love being hugged.So somewhere we all crave for that physical affection like Shehnaaz.

Shehnaaz calmed down a bit and smiled hearing her father's words.Her heart felt calm as her father rubbed her back calming her.Truly she felt loved today.All her blames that she had put on him seemed to vanish and her heart was finally filled with happiness. In true sense ,she felt complete today.

He said and wiped the tears from her cheeks making Shehnaaz smile more.He was also happy seeing his daughter happy and felt another level of sukoon.Indeed, being close to your children is another feeling,a very beautiful feeling.But yet he felt that she was hiding something. Call it a father instinct but he knew something was still wrong .

Something that is troubling her and it is also related to us

Sana dad:are you hiding something from me,Shehnaaz?

Shehnaaz didn't look up because she feared this thing only.In all her back home sorrows,she didn't mentioned the main reason of her sorrow.The person who had almost forced her to be out of the house,their lives and her family.The person who would still haunt her dreams and just by a mention of his name, she would flinch and shiver uncontrollably. But she felt confident and decided to tell everything to her dad.She didn't hesitated thinking that maybe she would get her justice now.

Sana:Ajay abused me

It was as if the world stopped for Rajesh. He couldn't believe what he just heard now from his own daughter and for a matter of fact,he knew that she wasn't lying.His eyes turned red and started burning with anger.Shehnaaz didn't lifted her head as she knew she had to see his anger then and don't know why she was scared of it.The best option for her was to keep her head on his chest and enjoy his embrace.

Sana dad:did your mom knew?

He asked her after calming a bit while caressing Shehnaaz's hairs.He was angry but still tried to calm it for his daughter and also taking the whole information was important for him.

Sana:She saw Ajay slapping me once and tried to stop him
