You all know,sometimes people who bully you,taunt you,backbitch about you,abused you are the ones who had themselves suffered it at one time .They had suffered the pain,the embarrassment, the hurtful words which made their heart bleed and built that frustration, anger inside the person.So they tend to let out this built up anger,pain ,frustration on the other person causing them pain.This is the mindset of half of the people .In colleges and schools,the bullying cycle goes on and on,in society the taunting and backbitching cycle goes on and on,in homes the rules and restrictions cycle for girls goes on and on.Same way,the person who was abused knows the pain still due to that pain he/she cause the other person pain.In this way,the cycle goes on and on and doesn't stop.

Samaira was sitting on her bed, calmly doing her work.For the first she was feeling calm because Aurora was not there in the room.She was enjoying the comfortable silence until she heard a phone ringing.

Samaira:I don't have a phone so whose phone is ringing?

Samaira looked around her room and searched for the phone.She found it on Aurora's side,meaning it was her.She decided not to pick it up thinking about all the horrible punishments Aurora could give her if she get to knew about it.Goosebumps ran down her spine and she dropped the phone on the bed.

Samaira:I shouldn't pick it up,I shouldn't

She sat on her bed and again started concentrating on her work but the ringing didn't stopped.The 9 year old Samaira finally decided to pick it up .She looked at the screen and it read "Dad"

Samaira:what possibly would go wrong with this......I will tell him that Aurora is not here and cut the call

She swiped the green button and finally answered the call.But before she could speak,a voice interrupted her.

Dad:WHERE THE FUCK WERE YOU,BITCH?........oh,let me guess,you were whoring around,you know if it wasn't for Maya ,I wouldn't have sent you there......you would still be here and I would teach you on how not to disobey me,you know you are just a pathetic, weak,ugly brat......now what caught your tongue?SPEAK UP DAMMIT........speak Aurora or do you want me to take you back to the basement and teach you some manners......it will just take one day for-

Before Samaira could hear anything more, the phone was snatched from her hand.Aurora snatched the phone from her and angrily glared at her but Samaira didn't turned.It was as if someone made her a statue.No movements,no looking towards Aurora, no crying.Just silent.

Aurora:I am sorry.....yeah,yeah,I know.....it will reach you soon,I remember the punishment.....hmm

The look on Aurora's face was priceless, it was the first time Samaira saw her literally scared and shivering in fear.But she can't blame her also,the voice of the man had so much anger,hatred and a very negative vibe.

Samaira slumped on her bed but her hands were shaking,God her body was shaking.She was numb ,like totally numb.Yes,she would cry and shout after Aurora physically abused her but she was never numb.

Aurora:DIDN'T I TOLD YOU NOT TO TOUCH MY THINGS?

Aurora yelled at her finally realizing what Samaira did.Samaira looked at Aurora with a blank look.She didn't knew what to feel .

Aurora:Bitch

TSHHH.

And there she received a slap.

Samaira:No,No Stop.....No

Samaira woke up suddenly with a shout.Her hands and forehead were filled with sweat.She frantically looked around as if searching for him or Aurora. She was breathing heavily while her heart was beating loudly.She ran her hand through her hairs.

Samaira:why did I even slept?

Maybe because of tiredness

Her mind replied her to which she just nodded and threw her blanket away.She got up from her bed and went to her current favourite place in her room.Her balcony.

She looked up towards the sky and frowned.It was completely dark with no stars,no moon.The sky looked dull and the darkness of the situation only made her remember those dark nights of her hostel where she would wake up at night after a nightmare and cry.

Samaira:why,why it always happens with me

She frustratedly hit the  railing of the balcony and turned to go away.She was entering her room when her leg hit by the chair.She winced a bit and held her leg while sitting on the chair.Just then her gaze fell on something which was forbidden for her.

Cigarette.

She couldn't think straightly and moved her hand to pick it up.It was a new pack which she had brought in case she needed her toxic stress reliever .Yes,it was her stress reliever but at the same time toxic so she called it toxic stress reliever. She hastily stood up and went towards the balcony.

For few seconds,she leaned against the railing and kept looking at it for some seconds.

Samaira:fuck it,nothing will happen....it's just for one time

She opened the pack and took out a cigarette stick. She took out the lighter which she had hidden behind the flower pot.She kept it in her mouth and lit it.Then,she sat on the balcony swing.

Her eyes had tears, thinking of all those days especially that day when she got to see the real Aurora, who was also a victim of abuse.She got scared just by hearing his voice, she couldn't think what Aurora had went through living with him.

She leaned on the swing and took a long drag of the cigarette. She knew this was harmful but she couldn't stop from feeling the nice feeling when she inhaled the smoke and it took out all her sorrow.It was her painfully sweet reliever.

The voices of Shehnaaz and her bestfriend kept repeating in her mind.

"Make the right decision"

Samaira:I will make the right decision

Sidhansh:good morning dad,naazu ,Sam

Sana/Samaira:good morning kiddo/Ansh

Shehnaaz said while ruffling his hairs while Samaira kissed his cheek.Sidhansh shot both of them an annoying look showing that he didn't like their acts but Samaira and Shehnaaz just giggled. Sidhansh looked at his dad who didn't replied ,not even looked up at him.

Sidhansh:dad,dad

Sidharth was in his own world thinking  what Samaira had decided. What was her decision? Is she really leaving him? Millions of questions were twirling in his mind.But he also knew that he had lost his right to say something to Samaira to change her decision and not to go back.He didn't knew what exactly he should do.

He can't let her go but at the same time can't even stop her.

Sana:Sidharth

Sid:huh

Shehnaaz kept her hand on his hand bringing him back from his world.He confusingly looked up and saw the trio looking at him with confusion and concern.

Sidhansh:dad ,are you okay?

Sid:yeah,yeah I am fine.......were you saying something, Ansh?

Sidhansh:yes dad,good morning

Sid:sorry,I didn't heard......good morning Ansh

Sishansh was sure there was something more but he didn't asked further and sat down.All started eating their food in silence making Sidhansh more suspicious.

Shehnaaz was thinking what would be Samaira's decision while Samaira was thinking how to say her decision to them.Shehnaaz wanted to ask Samaira but at the same time she didn't wanted to show Samaira that she was forcing something on her.

Sid:Samaira these are your flight ticket

Sidharth finally broke thr silence and gave her a white envelope which had her flight ticket.Samaira took it from him nervously and kept it with her.

Samaira:when is the flight?

Oh,so she has decided to go back

Sidharth felt his heart breaking thinking about it.But his mind said him that he was the only one because of whom she had went to that hostel and suffered so much so now he shouldn't say anything, just accept her decision. He cleared his throat and spoke with a heavy heart.

Sid:1pm

Samaira:okay

Sid:but you won't be living in that hostel,I -

Samaira:then where would I live

Samaira didn't let him complete and spoke in-between.

Sid:you will be living with Maria......I am going to call her and make the arrangements, excuse me

Sidharth said and excused himself. He couldn't hold his crying heart anymore and left the room.Tears were almost in his eyes,ready to flow out.

Sana:so you are going back?

Shehnaaz asked her with a heavy heart.She wasn't expecting for this decision. She thought maybe Samaira would stay here.Maybe,just maybe she would do it.But she was wrong ,well she can't blame her also .She has gone through worse and now it's her,just her who will make the decision.

Samaira:yeah

Samaira said without looking up from her plate.Tears were also in her eyes.Sidhansh looked confused at the scene,not knowing what was actually happening.

Sidhansh:where are you going?

Shehnaaz and Samaira both looked at him and then it striked them that they hadn't said him anything.

Samaira:I am going back ,Ansh.......I had came here just for my vacations and now it's over

Sidhansh:oh,I had thought you had came back forever

Sidhansh whispered to him but Shehnaaz heard it.She felt hopeless and helpless as she was not able to do anything. She couldn't stop the breaking up of such a sweet family .She couldn't stop the flowing of tears of the family who gave her happiness.

Sidhansh:can't you continue your classes from here,there are many good schools here also

Samaira:I know Ansh but I feel happy there as if I belong there......and it's just for one year,I will complete my 12th and come back ,okay?

Sidhansh:you will surely come back after one year?

Samaira:yes Ansh

Oh,it's just for one year......but one year is also a lot

Shehnaaz thought but she also thought that maybe Samaira is saying this just to keep Sidhansh's heart and not to make him sad.

Samaira:I am finished ,I am going to pack

Samaira said again trying not to make any eye contact. She couldn't look at their sad faces.Her heart also churned thinking about leaving them.She only know how she calmed her heart now she didn't wanted to fall weak anymore.

She entered her room and took out her suitcase.

Sidhansh:is it necessary to do this?

She turned around and saw Sidhansh standing there.She gestured him to come inside and then lock the door.Sidhansh did as told and came towards her.

Samaira:yes Ansh,it's necessary......you remember our plan,right?

Sidhansh:yeah but I can't see them sad

Samaira:me too,I am sorry

Sidhansh didn't said anything just jumped in her arms and hugged her tightly. Samaira was first startled with this hug but then calmed down and hugged him tightly too.Both didn't wanted to leave each other.In these few weeks,they became inseparable.

Sidhansh:I am gonna miss you

Samaira:I am gonna miss you too

Samaira you can't fall weak atleast not now

Sana:you have taken everything?......your dresses,your books,your phone,your-

Samaira:yes,naazu I have taken everything

Samaira said cutting her off.She didn't wanted to see her glossy eyes because her heart hurt seeing it.She couldn't believe that she was crying for someone whom she just met a month  ago.Surely,Shehnaaz had made a special place in her heart which no one can replace and she will never forget it.

Samaira:where is dad?

Sana:he - he.....umm,he is -

Samaira:he can't come to meet me for the last time,right?(chuckling)

Sana:no Samaira, it's not like that......you understand, it's difficult for him too,he can't see his daughter going away from him again

Samaira:hmm

She nodded half-heartedly and looked at the door of her room where Sidhansh was standing.His eyes were filled with tears breaking her heart once more.And what pained her was that she was the cause of it.

You again made someone cry

Her inner voice mocked her making her feel more guilty.Sidhansh mouthed an "I love you" and gestured that he can't stay anymore. Samaira nodded after muttering "love you too ".She also couldn't see him anymore with those red eyes.

Sana:you know,I can still drop you to the airport

Samaira:and I also said, No naazu.....please don't make it more difficult for me and you,it's already too hard and painful....I will miss you

Samaira said and enveloped Shehnaaz in a tight and warm hug.Shehnaaz also hugged her tightly and tears flowed out from both of their cheeks.Both didn't uttered a word,just cried and felt the warmth of each other.It was heartwarming hug but also a painful one.The hug which could make any soul warm but at the same time make it cry.Samaira hugged her more tightly ,she was literally squeezing Shehnaaz but Shehnaaz also didn't said anything. At that moment, Samaira felt that those words are really true.

Indeed,goodbyes are damn difficult

Samaira:I should be going now

Sana:yeah

Shehnaaz said breaking the hug and wiping her tears.Samaira picked up her suitcase and waved at Shehnaaz for the last time.Shehnaaz gave her a sad yet reassuring smile and waved back.

Samaira:bye

Samaira whispered and turned around ro leave.Shehnaaz didn't knew what Samaira was eventually to her but now she could feel it.She could feel that she was very special to her like a part of her own soul.Someone too close to her ,someone who captured her heart too lovingly and sweetly.She was innocent yet mature girl,intelligent but at the same time childish,bold but at the same time caring for her family.Shehnaaz was feeling like a wave of emotions was hitting her.

She couldn't handle the intensity of the wave and stumbled and held the side wall.

I feel like a part of me is going away from me

Sana:Samaira

She shouted and Samaira turned around hearing her voice.

Samaira:yes

Please don't go

She wanted to say this but these words didn't came out from her mouth.

Sana:call me once you reach

Samaira:sure

I want to stop her but I can't.....I just can't
