xiv.
"O—okay then. Do it." Jimin said his knees shaking.
"What?" Yoongi asked.
"You said you want to eat me then do it."
"Jimin, I think you're sleep deprived okay? It was a mistake to come here. I am clearly tipsy and it's too late. I'm just going to go back and—" he stopped talking when he saw him digging through his drawer.
When he pulled out another pair of scissors Yoongi rolled his eyes extremely annoyed. "Dammit. How many pairs of scissors do you own child? Give it here."
Jimin moved his hand as Yoongi reached for it. "No! You said you wanted to eat me and now you're going to. If that's the reason why you don't want to be friends then let's get it over with."
"Are you insane? Seriously get some sleep dude."
"Ow!" He said once he accidentally cut his fingers.
The blood started dripping from his hands and Yoongi looked down at it. Jimin suddenly became nervous.
What the hell was he doing? Why was he so determined to get killed by this man? Was it the adrenaline of it all?
Yoongi stepped closer and Jimin flinched petrified. He wanted to tell him he took it back and that it was all a joke. To please don't eat him!
However, when he felt him press a tissue against his skin he relaxed. He looked at him expecting to see his eyes another color or his fangs showing.
He looked like himself. Pretty calm actually. Even for a human bleeding in front of his eyes. The blood soaked through the tissue not being able to absorb it all. He then ripped a piece of the bottom of his shirt.
Jimin felt his face turn red when he caught a glance of his pale stomach showing. Yoongi wrapped the piece of shirt around his fingers.
"Do you have a first aid kit?"
"Not here."
"Geez. Well, at least your cut is not too bad. You won't bleed out. Just keep applying pressure to it and it should stop. You need to be careful with scissors. Playing with them is not safe for a human prone to die. I seriously do not miss that at all."
"Can't—can't you heal me?"
"Unfortunately no. Only hybrids have that ability."
Hybrids?
"That's another long story." Yoongi added once he saw his confused face. Jimin nodded holding his hand close to him.
"What? Why're you looking at me like that?" He snapped.
"W—what do you mean?"
"You're giving me that face like you're expecting something else from me."
"N—no. I—I thought that you could maybe heal me. It's no—no problem. I didn't mean to—"
"I'm talking about your cut. I saw the fear in your eyes when I stepped closer to you. Did you think I was going to turn into a monster and drain you of blood?"
Jimin shook his head no fearfully. That's exactly what he thought was going to happen. His moment of bravery vanished once he cut his fingers.
"Don't lie to me. I know that's what you thought of. Let me tell you this after two decades I've learned to control myself around human blood. Of course, it changes when I'm starving but that's rare. Stupid boy."
"That's good...you...you didn't hurt me. We can be friends."
He chuckled rolling his eyes, "Wow. You have low standards for friends. You are friend with those two so I guess I shouldn't be surprised."
"Why is it so hard to accept my friendship?"
"You don't want to be my friend. You want to replace your loneliness with me. Those boys you call your friends aren't nothing. The only reason they're even talking to you is because you're their classmate and help them pass the class."
Jimin looked down at his feet and walked back to the bed. He took a seat on his bed feeling his heart break.
Yoongi immediately saw he was upset. Empathy was not a strong suit of his. He used to be empathetic. It had been so long he had felt anything nice he forgot how to be nice.
"If we were friends what would we even talk about? What would be even do? Hang out and then you give me your blood and that's it?" He said after a long pause of silence.
"Forget it. It was a mistake. Now if you excuse me I really need to get some sleep."
Yoongi nodded, "Okay. Yeah."
Jimin got under the covers and turned to face the wall. He kept his eyes closed until he felt the cold wind hit his back. When he opened them he looked around the dark room wondering why the window was opened.
"Yoongi?" Jungkook asked.
"Huh?"
"Which one looks better?" He asked holding up two suits.
"Uhh...blue."
"Are you sure? I'm trying to give that I'm-an-ancient-hybrid-that-will- fuck-you-up-vibes. Does this blue scream that?"
"Sure. It does." He mumbled not really being able to concentrate. He kept thinking about what happened the previous night with Jimin.
"Nah. I'll go with the black."
"Well, bloody hell Jungkook. Why did you ask in the first place then?" Yoongi asked with a sigh.
"I needed to know which one to not pick duh."
"Why are you going out in a suit?"
"Why not?" He grinned.
"Oh no. You're torturing someone aren't you?"
"Maybe. Maybe not."
"You totally are. You always dress up to fuck up someone's life."
Jungkook shrugged with a smirk, "I mean shit if I'm going to be a monster I might as well look good. Don't you think?"
"Yeah. I guess you're right."
He removed his shirt to put on a new one. Yoongi kept the cup of whiskey in his hands as he watched. "Your tattoo expanded." He commented as he took a look at his back.
"Yeah. My birthday passed to two months ago. It always expands little by little."
"I hadn't seen it in a while."
"Well I don't like to show it. Ahh! Yeah the black is the one." He said changing the conversation. He kept modeling in front of the mirror running his fingers through his long black hair.
"Should it go up in a bun or not?"
"Leave it down. Well, actually no. Tie that shit up. It makes you look like such an e-boy."
"What the fuck is an e-boy?"
"It's what society like nowadays. Boys who have long hair and wear too much eyeliner. Or something like that."
"Ahh. The more you know."
"Mhmm."
Jungkook kept trying to fix his hair and Yoongi took another sip. "Jungkook?" He spoke up.
"Huh?"
"Do you think I'm a good friend?"
"Hell yeah. You always help me get free shit."
"In all honesty am I a good friend?"
"Why the question?"
"Just wondering."
"I've already told you. You help me—"
"Aside from that. If I had no powers and couldn't offer you anything would you still be my friend?"
"Of course. You help me without hesitation. You always have. Not every friend does that."
"Okay. Good to know."
"Yeah. Well, I'll get going." He winked walking away.
Seconds later he heard him go out the door. Once he was done with his whiskey he got up and headed to the kitchen.
It was weird because they still had actual human food there. Every now and then they craved it. Good thing they could still consume it.
He dug through the cabinets pulling out a box of chocolate cookies. When he was on his third pack Namjoon walked in.
"No sleep last night?" Yoongi asked with a mouthful.
"Nope."
"Why not?"
"I was..." looking for Jin. "Not tired. How about you? No sleep?"
"Nope. I was..." with Jimin. "Not tired."
"Okay gotcha."
"Namjoon, am I a good friend?" He randomly asked. If Jungkook said he was then maybe Namjoon had a different look at it.
"Yes. Why?"
"You're being honest with me?"
"Yes. I wouldn't lie to you."
"I saw that human last night." He blurted.
Namjoon looked up closing the fridge. "The one from my vision?" He asked already knowing the answer to that.
"Yes. He asked me to be his friend."
"Oh,"
"I know you said to stay away from people. It's clearly not a good idea."
"Not at all." He mumbled.
"I also know you were out last night. You were looking for that boy weren't you? The one Jungkook tried to kill?"
He cleared his throat shaking his head no. "No. I don't know what you're talking about—"
"Don't lie to me. You were his friend once. I overheard you talking to him at the party."
He sighed, "Yes. I was his friend. For a while actually. That's why I'm telling you socializing with humans is bad. You've been there before. Or would you like for me to remind you how tragic your love story was?"
Yoongi unconsciously crushed the pack of cookies with her hands. "No. I don't need a reminder, but you have to admit talking to someone else besides us two is nice."
"It is."
"Yeah. It is."
"I'm sorry," Namjoon whispered after a brief moment of silence.
"For what?"
"For bringing up your past."
"Nah. It's been so long. I forgot about it already." But he hadn't. How do you ever get over losing the love of your life so tragically?
"I just don't want you to go through that again. Once I realized my feelings for Jin was more than friendship I decided to keep my distance."
"Yet you still look for him. Did you really stay away then?"
He bit the inside of his cheek, "No."
"Clearly."
"Just be careful okay? I won't tell you to stay away anymore. That's not my place. I know you'll be careful. I'm just looking out for you."
"Got it. Thanks." He replied heading out the kitchen. He stopped and looked back at him. "Namjoon?" He said.
"Huh?"
"You're a good friend too."
With that being said he walked out. He went to the glass door and looked at the gloomy day outside and he couldn't help to think of Jimin.
