(25) A Story They Would Never Forget

(Best Friends Say if they weren't married by 30, They'd Marry each other)

A young, green haired Jack sat at fifteen, next to his red headed best friend Mark as he mashed buttons frantically on his controller, the game on the screen barely lighting their faces and empty crisp packets on the floor next to them. After losing the game, Jack tossed his controller down, "Hey Mark?" He spoke, his voice riddled with curiosity and sleep deprivation, it was three in the morning though. Mark turned to him, "Yeah?" Jack began to giggle, barely getting his words out. "If.. If we aren't... married by 30, We should just marry each other!" Mark began giggling along with the green haired teen. "Yeah okay, sounds fair." And with that, They shook hands. They'd both definitely be married by 30, Right?

Wrong.
It was just past Marks 30th birthday when he called Jack, Who would probably be hung over seeing as Jack, Mark, Bob and Wade went out drinking for Marks 30th the previous night. As the phone rang longer that usual, The dopey smile that was on Marks face began to fade, but returned again when he heard the Irishman's grunt instead of a hello. "Good morning sleeping beauty." Mark began, feeling butterflies in his stomach. "Yeah yeah, Mornin'. Whats up old man?" Jack retorted. "Hey! We're the same age." Jack smiled at this, "Yeah yeah, get to the point, Fischbach." Mark froze for a moment. "Do... you remember that promise we made when we were fifteen?" There was a pause, of course Jack remembered. "Yeah..." The Irishman new exactly where this was going, and was pretty happy even if he didn't want to admit it. "Well, We're thirty and not married so..." Jack began to laugh, Mark was a dork back then and still is. "Ill marry you, you dope. A promise is a promise." Mark smiled; Jack sounded pretty casual for someone who was about to get married because of a small bet they'd made when they were fifteen. Mark had never thought he'd get to marry his best friend; but he wouldn't change it for the world.
And He Never Did.
-.
Young Samuel and Tina Came running into their living room, It was Marks 38th birthday and Jack had bake a cake with the kids. "Happy Anniversary And Birthday!" They all sat together, Mark cutting his beautifully made cake. Tina sat swinging her legs, "Daddy, Daddy! How did you and Dad get married?" Mark chuckled looking at Jack. "Well, It was a bet actually." Samuel gasped. To which Jack chuckled, placing his chin on his hands as he watched his husband tell the tale. Zoning out and remembering back to that very day, When They had made the bet, then to the wedding day - Mark chuckling as he placed the ring on Jacks finger. "Well, it'll be a good story to tell the kids..." And it was, It was their story, one to never forget.
