Tim's Bakery
A/N : I was planning to make this one short but it became this long, so... Sorry! ;P Hope it was cute enough though! :3
3rd Person's POV
Everyone knows that Jack likes cake. Wait no, scratch that word; he LOVES cake. Red Velvet, Rainbow cake, fruit crumb, sour cream, just mention it. But he has this one particular shop in the corner of the road near where he works called "Tim's Bakery". Their mascot is a small brown wooden box with a pair of blue eyes and a charming smile. He also wears a small chef hat and a pink moustache. Jack finds this mascot to be adorable and eye-catching and since he found that place, it was like a magnet to him.
After a long day sitting on his boring gray cubicle, he would go there alone. He feels like it's a 'reward' from himself, for himself for going through a long day at his boring job. He would always order the same thing; a cheesecake and a black coffee, just the way he likes it.
But, he doesn't go there just for the cake, you see. Every time he goes there, he always saw a particular man who works there. Based on his nicely written name tag, Jack knows that his name is Mark. He doesn't know why, but this man never fails to make Jack down on his knees; his perfect blue ocean hair with a little bit of highlight here and there, his oaky brown eyes that can make anyone melts, his tanned skin, and oh god his body that is slightly defined; that man is anyone's dream; and surely it was Jack's too.
In this shop, you can see the process of making the cake, which means that Jack can have the perfect view of his (secret) crush. He never told anyone about his crush due to the fact that he always goes there alone (and he also thought no one would care).
On one faithful evening, Jack did everything as usual in his boring office. He then walks quickly into the bakery, feeling like a child who was about to go into a candy shop. As he opens the door, the small bell rang and echoed through the shop. One of the workers smiled warmly to him. He has a blonde hair and blue eyes just like his, but in a different shade. His nametag revealed that his name is Felix.
"Welcome to Tim's Bakery! Are you going to order your usual?" He asked.
"Wait, you know my usual?" Jack asks the blonde man in confusion and a hint of amazement. "Of course! You are our number one customer!" He grins in response.
"Oh, really? Then usual it is." Jack nodded happily. "Okay, please wait for a sec sir." He smiled once more and then, he mentioned a name that caused Jack to blush.
"Mark! Cheesecake for your cru—" His mouth was shut by a hand, forcefully covering his mouth. Yep, you guessed it; it was Marks. "Felix, I swear to god, shut up or I'll—" The blue-haired man couldn't finish his sentence as he looked at Jack, who was blushing even more than before. Secretly, Jack was looking at Mark's clothing; he was wearing a white button-up shirt with rolled sleeve, defining his biceps. You can also see that he opened some of the buttons, revealing a small part of his toned chest. He was wearing a dirty apron with the shop's logo sewed on it.
"My apologies sir. My colleague here loves to joke around with our customers." He mentioned as he let go of Felix, who was grinning in amusement.
Jack coughed, still feeling a bit tensed. "O-Oh, that's okay!" He smiled, walking into his regular spot. There, he saw Mark works like usual, but this time, he caught him staring into his direction. Both of them instantly look away, pretending that it didn't happened. He decided to take out his book called "The Notebook." He's almost done reading the book and he really loved it so far. Because he put every attention into that romance book, he didn't notice the man standing near him.
The man decided to clear his throat, earning Jack's attention. It was Mark again. Jack became flustered and in a bit of shock; usually Mark never comes out of the kitchen, so it was a bit weird for him. "I love that book." He said as he puts the plate of cheesecake and a cup of coffee in front of Jack. "I'm almost done with it, and I heard that the movie is going to come up soon on theater."
"Yeah, I heard about it too..." Jack answered, thanking Mark for the food and drink. Mark was about to open his mouth but quickly shuts it as he nodded and flashed his signature smile (that is worth a billion dollar,) walking away from Jack and back into the kitchen. Jack closed his book and put it next to the plate and started to eat his cheesecake slowly.
But his blue eyes couldn't help but to wandered back to Mark.
After finishing the delicious cake, he sat there for awhile, enjoying the calm surrounding that he was in when suddenly, his phone buzzed. As he reads the text, he groans in irritation and agony. It was his boss, asking him to go back into the office because there are 'a couple of things to run and couldn't wait.' He stood up and put the money on the table as he walks away, feeling annoyed. He could've swore that he heard his name was mentioned from afar but he didn't really care at that point; he just wanted to finish his job as quickly as possible so he can go home and take a rest.
When he arrived at his office, his boss immediately gave him a huge amount of paperwork, making Jack even more pissed. He sighed as he started working on everything as quickly as possible.
Jack stamped the last paper as he leans back onto his chair, causing it to squeak. "What time is it?" He asked himself as he looks up into the clock, only to find out that it was already 11. "Shit... the bus stop is closed at this point. Am I seriously going to walk on foot all alone?"
Feeling like today couldn't get any better, he stormed off from the tall building, trying to walk as fast as he can. The weather was very cold so he rubs his hands and shoulders, trying to get some warmness out of it. Suddenly, a familiar voice shouted his name.
"Jack!" That voice called once more. As he looks back, he noticed a figure running towards him. He immediately froze, not knowing what to do.
"W-Wha... H-Hey Mark!" He stuttered, feeling a warm blush creeping onto his face.
"Hey, you know my name?" Mark smiled as he panted, trying to get some air. "I should say the same to you." Jack huffed, grinning.
"Well, you've been into the bakery for a thousand time so how could I not know your name?" He answered, fixing his black beanie (which Jack thought made him look even more adorable).
"You noticed me?" Jack asked, looking away. "With that neon green hair of yours? How couldn't I?"
"Should say the same to you about your striking blue hair." Mark smiled, chuckling lightly. "Then we have many in commons, Jack."
"I guess we do." Jack answered with a warm smile, as they look into each other eyes. Jack couldn't help but looking at Mark's gorgeous brown eyes that was mesmerizing as Mark look into his. Jack suddenly coughed, making both men looked away, feeling awkward.
"Um... so, why are you calling my name and chased me?" Jack asked, causing Mark to blush as he rubs his head. "Oh, Um... I just want to give you your book and this cake! You left it on the table... I was going to give it to you but you were in a such a rush so I guess I should just wait outside, y'know? and oh! I noticed that you always ordered this one for quite some time and we have some ingredients left in the kitchen. So, I made it for you." He blabbered out as he gave him a small box with a pink bow on top of it.
"Wait, did you wait for hours just to return this book and give me this cheesecake?"Jack asked in a bit of shock as mark nodded, smiling shyly. The smaller man took the gift hesitantly, smiling in awe. "That is sweet of you, Thank you Mark."
"No problem." He smiled happily.
"So, is that the only thing you wanted to say to me? Or gift me?" Jack chuckled.
"No actually," Mark confessed, looking somewhat nervous. "Um... So, you know, I noticed that you like the notebook and I was wondering that... If you finished the book and the movie comes out, you could... you know, watch it with me? Just the two of us?"
Jack blue eyes widened in shock, not trusting of what he heard. "Are you asking me out on a date?" Jack laughs, making Mark blushed as he held his neck, rubbing it softly. "If you put it that way... then I guess yeah, I am."
Jack cheeks flustered pure red as he answered, "I would love to go out with you Mark."
Suddenly, he felt a strong yet loving hand wrapped around him, giving him warmth and comfort that he adore. Mark putted his head on Jack's shoulder, as Jack snuggle himself into his chest. "Thank you Jack. I promise it will be fun." He mumbles into Jack's ear, causing the smaller man to shiver in delight.
"I bet it will."
And after that, Mark (being a gentlemen that he is) offers to walk him home and Jack agrees. They were chatting and strolling down the street with their hands entwined.
Jack was smiling and laughing but on the inside he was anxious, hoping for the day of his big date to come sooner.
