Chapter 13
~Dipper~
After that, everything kind of just fell into place. Ford and Stan made up, mostly, and Stan kept his promise too keep Ford away from liquor. Although, there were some exceptions. Stan told me that Ford would have to gradually let go of the poison.
Mabel and I kept on trying to find monsters in the woods, mysteries to solve. We didn't tell Ford or Stan about it, however. Now that he wasn't drunk all the time, he tried to make up for all that time, spending time with me by playing board games, fishing, hikes and that sort of things. Sometimes Mabel would tag along.
One day, we were sitting in the living room and Mabel was writing in her diary when she suddenly gasped. "Dipper!" She said. "I have a great idea!"
I looked up at her. "What?"
"We should go to the theater! You haven't been there yet and the preformances are amazing!"
I shrugged. "Alright."
She smiled. "I'll go tell Grunkle Stan!"
After she left, there was a buzzing in my head. I blinked. What's that?
Miss me? Said a voice. I jumped. "What? I thought that was just a dream!"
Shhh, the voice said. If you talk to yourself like that, people'll start to think you've gone loopy!
I swollowed. You can here my thoughts?
Yup, the voice said. Actually, it's just one of the things I can do to your brain. I can erase memoeries too. What did you eat for breakfast yesterday morning?
I...I don't remember.
The voice laughed, which sounded insane. I can also give you quite a headache.
What are you still doing in my head?
Well, I can't live in reality but I can here.
Please just get out of my head and leave me alone!
Finally, the voice went silent. I exhaled with releif. "Dipper!" Came a squeel. "He said yes! We can go!"
I smiled and rounded the corner. Mabel was beaming at me. "Oh, you're going to love it! The music, the dancing!" She grabbed my wrist. "Come on! Let's get ready."

"See, I told you it was good," I said, walking out of the theater with Dipper.
He nodded. "It was pretty cool."
I hooked his arm in mine. "And it's free! Well, it is if you know a guy." I winked at Barry, one of the Mystery Shack's faithful costumers. He always got me and Stan in for free. Stan's one of those guys who will do anything to hold onto his money. Sometimes it's better then others.
It was getting late and the sun was halfway over the horizon. "We should hurry. Grunkle Stan doesn't like me walking without him at night."
Dipper nodded. "Understandable."
We didn't talk much on the walk home, but it was a comfortable silence, us just enjoying each other's company. It was great having a brother. It's like a best friend who would never leave. I always felt like I was missing something in my life and now I knew. It all made sense!
Suddenly, when we were about halfway to the Shack, someone stepped out from behind the trees. "Hello, Mabel," the voice said.
I stopped dead in my tracks. "Oh great," I muttered.
"What?" Dipper asked.
I sighed. "It's Danny."
"Who's Danny?"
"Who's this you've got here, Mabel?" Danny asked.
"It's my long lost twin brother," I said. "Dipper."
He let out a disbeleiving snort. "Your twin? Who d believe that."
"Look, Danny," I said with a sigh, pinching the bridge of my nose. "Can you just leave me alone? You've always wanted me to be happy, right? And it's not with you. You blew your chance a long time ago. Just leave me be."
Danny crossed his arms. "I think you'll see what you're missing in time, babe." And with that, he sauntered off into the woods.
"Um, what was that all about?" Dipper asked.
I sighed. "Danny had this thing for me last year and he blew his chance. And I never liked him anyway. He just won't leave me alone! He's so irritating."
Dipper shrugged. "I guess we've both had jerks in our lives, huh?"
I nodded. "Yeah. But at least he never tried to hurt me."
Dipper nodded. "Yeah, but being clingy like that almost seems worse."
I smiled. "Oh, you don't know the half of it!"

They'll have their laughs for now...
Because everything will change...
For they will learn to bow...
And Gravity Falls will never be the same...
