As Derrin came to he quickly realized he was in the middle of some kind of ritual thankfully not bound down. He then realized unfortunately they had already made the ritual and some kind of demon had shown up for it's meal Derrin reached into his jeans pocket and got a hidden switch blade ready as the demon got ready to jump at him. He quickly stabbed for the neck as the demon jumped for him he barely missed getting the switch blade into the demons shoulder. The demon growled as it threw the knife across the room and fire started to leak from the wound it went to claw at him but he ducked and started punching the demon in the face repeatedly. It seemed like the ritual was about to run out of time as the demon tossed Derrin across the room and ran for him claws ready. Derrin grabbed his knife from the ground and stabbed it fully into the demons neck following the stab with a body slam completely submerging the knife. The ritual to find a host for the demon wore off and since the demon was dead instead it's power was released being inherited by the nearest person who was Derrin. All Derrin felt was a rush of some kind of strange power before passing out, Meanwhile the cult had ran the moment the demon died leaving Derrin with a power he lucked out on.
