Chapter 12

I manage to get everyone up. It's a good thing I woke up at 5:40. I know that's early for school, but Tori and them need to go home and get into their uniforms before school starts. I haven't talked to them about anything that I saw. I mean it definitely couldn't have been a normal dream because of how realistic it was. There's a different feel between normal dreams and my visions, and last night was definitely a vision. For some reason I'm still uncertain though. This feeling in my heart that tells me they are good people, wants me to believe it was only a dream. My head on the other hand is telling me that they aren't who they appear to be. I don't know what to believe.

It's not like I can just approach them and say, "oh hey, just letting you know I can sometimes predict the future and I saw that you guys have special powers, care to explain?" Oh yeah, that will go down well... Not.

In my vision Tori looked like she had the closest relationship to that man... I don't know what that means but I need to keep an eye on her. I can't trust her, Seth, or Gavin. Especially not Gavin... He gave up one of his friends and pack mates to that man. How could he do that?

I want to talk about this with someone, but I can't talk to Kari or anyone about this... I just barely managed to convince Kari and Bryce to let them stay, and now I find out that they are in cahoots with some weird man? If I tell them now then they won't trust me ever again. This small tug in my heart is begging me not to believe what I saw, but I just don't know what to think anymore. What if I'm wrong and they aren't in cahoots with that man? If I told Kari and Bryce then I could possibly get them in trouble for no reason.

Whatever, let's just get this day done and over with. I grab my school uniform and put it on after stripping out of my clothes from last night. Taking my dirty clothes I throw them into my bathroom floor and walk over to the sink. I grab my makeup bag, add some mascara to my eyes and leave my brown hair as it naturally is. I don't mind having my loose natural curls, it doesn't look that bad.

I grab my backpack and join Rosie and Jason downstairs in the kitchen.

"Hey guys." I say and grab a granola bar from the cabinet.

"Hey, so that was quite an adventure last night huh?" Rosie says as she eats her cereal. I nod my head.

"Yup, I'm just glad it's all over with. I hate thunderstorms..."

"We know." Jason says with a laugh. "But you did pretty good, I'm impressed. You're usually shaking in your boots when a thunderstorm comes." He says. I frown at him.

"I am not that bad Jay!" I'm not. I'm usually terrified, yes, but I don't actually shake! I'm not a chihuahua!

"Sure." He states, I hit him in the arm and he frowns and rubs it. "Ow, jerk." he says.

I smirk at him victoriously. I throw out my granola bar wrapper in the trash and start to munch on my breakfast.

"Ah Evelyn, there you are!" I hear Kari's voice. I turn around and see that she popped into the kitchen. Her chubby little belly is sticking out and making her look cuter than ever. She's smiling at me brightly.

"Well someone looks happy today, what's up?" I say.

"Just found out some exciting news." I give her a questioning look.

"What kind of exciting news?"

She winks at me and giggles, "It's a secret!" I absolutely hate that!

"Why would you even tell me that you have exciting news then? Now I'm going to be curious all day..." I complain. She rolls her eyes.

"Well deal with it. I'm going to be taking a few days to travel so I wanted to let you know that I won't be around for a bit. I'm going to be leaving tomorrow morning." I pout out my bottom lip. I can't believe she is leaving me. I hate it when she's not here... Wait a second isn't she about to give birth?

"Um Kari, should you be adventuring places this far into your pregnancy?" I ask her concerned.

She gets closer to me and plops her hand on my head. She proceeds to rustle my hair. I frown at her and pat my hair back to normal.

"I'll be fine little sis, stop your worrying. Just go to school and enjoy yourself." I roll my eyes. Yeah as if I could enjoy myself at school...

Thank goodness today flew by. First block was a breeze because we just finished up the lab. Second block and third block went by with no problems. Now I'm just left with Pastry Arts. It's okay, I can do this. It's just Gavin... You know the boy who gave up his friend to someone who beat the shit out of him... no reason to be scared. Act natural.

I'm sitting alone at my table in Pastry Arts. Christian and Olivia walk in and sits down next to me.

"Hey Evelyn. How are you today?" Christian asks casually. I shrug my shoulders.

"I'm pretty good. How about you?" I ask.

"I'm amazing! I just got this job at a grocery store near my house. I cannot wait to start working. This is going to be my first job. I'm hoping to save up for a car, they are kind of expensive, you know?" I nod my head in understanding.

"Yeah they are expensive. That's why I don't have a car or my license." I say to him. That's not true at all though, Kari could easily buy me a Porsche if I wanted one, but I'm just too lazy to go out and get all that. No normal girl could afford a Porsche though, so I'm just going to pretend I don't have enough money to buy any of that stuff instead of admitting that I'm lazy.

"Good joke, with that house of yours you could buy fourteen Lamborghini's if you really wanted." a deep voice says from behind me. I freeze. Shit. Breathe Evelyn. You've talked to him normally before.

I let out a deep breath and turn to him, "Just because I live in a big house doesn't mean that I'm rich. I don't have a job you know, and I need to pay for my own stuff." I say.

"Yeah right, you definitely get everything you want. Your parents probably bought you everything you've ever asked for." I just stare at him. My parents... I feel a sting in my heart as I think about the last time I saw my mom. I never met my dad but my mom loved him dearly. She always spoke well of him... I feel my eyes begin to water and I turn from him. He can't see me like this. I can't get weak in front of him or anyone.

"Okay class today we are cooking pumpkin pie! Come get the recipe." Mrs. Gerard says.

"I will get our recipe." Olivia says and quickly scurries away. I see Christian stand and head to the cooking station where he puts on his apron.

Suddenly I feel a hand on my shoulder. I flinch away and look up at Gavin. He slowly pulls his hand away and gazes at me with his dark grey eyes.

"Evelyn... I... Didn't mean to upset you." He says. I stand from the table and play it off like I'm fine.

"You didn't upset me. Just made me realize that you're right. I do get whatever I want." I shrug. "That's not really my fault though." He gives me a weird look.

"I swear you were just about to cry..." He says. I let out a laugh.

"Cry? Over the fact that I get what I want? Now that's silly..." I turn and grab my apron off the table and put it on. I feel Gavin's presence behind me. Soon he comes up and grabs his own apron, putting it on.

Olivia comes back with the recipe and we easily complete making the pumpkin pie. By the time we are done and the pie is out of the oven, the bell is about to ring. I take my apron off and grab my backpack from my chair. By the time I look up, I notice that Gavin is already at the door. Speed demon... I should probably try to talk to him and get some form of information off of him though... You know, concerning my vision. Since I always predict the future it should probably be happening tonight.

The bell rings. Shit I need to hurry or I will lose my chance. I speedily walk through the door. Gavin is still pretty far ahead. Jesus how does he walk so fast?

"Gavin!" I shout. He turns his head and I give him a wave. He rolls his eyes and keeps walking. Jerk! "Wait up!" I shout. Finally he slows down his pace and I catch up to him. "Jesus you walk fast." I say through quick breathes.

"Maybe you're just really slow. Especially for a werewolf." I'm not a werewolf dummy. Hurt flies through my chest but I just frown at him.

"Don't say that here. Also, stop being mean to me." I sigh. "Anyway, what are you Tori and Seth up to tonight." I ask in a friendly tone.

He thinks for a moment then I see something flash in his eyes. Like he remembered something important. "We have a group dinner thing. Carter is making us eat together for the first time since we moved." I smile at him even though I know he is lying. I know where he is going to be tonight... this just confirmed that.

"Oh well that sounds like fun." I say.

"Not really..." He says and sighs. He runs a hand through his hair like he's flustered... That's weird. He didn't seem flustered when he gave up his friend to that man.

"You don't like dinner with your pack?" I ask him.

"Their not my pack." he says angrily. I look at him shocked. He quickly composes himself. "I mean they're more like... family..." I have to stop myself from rolling my eyes. Nice cover up.

"Oh." Is all I can say. At this point we made it out into the parking lot. I see that our group is already hanging out in front of the cars. Jason looks up and sees me.

He looks at Gavin and frowns. I roll my eyes. Why can't he get over that stupid fight they had. He pushes himself off the car and comes up to me. He wraps an arm around my shoulder and guides me to the group. Well this is weird... He never likes to touch me that much in front of his football friends. Why is he acting like this?

"Hey Ev." he says casually.

"Hey..." I say suspiciously. He laughs.

"No need to get all suspicious on me. I just missed you. Haven't seen you all day." I raise an eyebrow at him.

"Jay, you saw me this morning."

"But it seems longer than that..." He says with a pout. I let out a laugh. His pouty face is the funniest thing ever! He tries to look like a cute puppy but in reality he looks like a frog. It's priceless! "Hey don't laugh at my cute face..."

"Hate to break it to you but you're cute face makes you look like a frog..." he frowns.

"No it doesn't."

"You don't believe me? Make that face again." I say. He makes it again. I grab his face in my hand and turn him to Rosie. "Rosie what does this face remind you of?" Rosie turns around and looks at Jason. She starts dying laughing.

"Oh my god! Jason you look jut like a frog! That's hilarious, let me take a picture!" she shouts as she lifts her phone up and snaps a picture quickly.

"Delete it." Jason shouts. She shakes her head. "Come on Rosie, delete it!" he shouts and runs after her. I laugh.

He's never going to get that picture off of her phone... poor guy.
