Natsu's POV

"Zeref, I need to ask you something." I shivered at the fear of what I'm about to ask.

"What?" He said as he sat infront of me, resting his hand on the table.

"H-how's Lucy?" I stuttered. He clenched his fists, I could tell he was furious.

"That's none of your concern." He said angrily facing the floor.

"I do not wish to talk about personal affairs. Now let's begin our meeting." He stated.

After a few minutes he finished saying his concerns regarding the business and he stood up to walk away.

"Zeref, she chose you." I stood up and walked closer to him.

He froze and turned to look at me.

"What happened in the past is over." He said bluntly.

"No! It's not! You have no idea what happened to her!" I yelled.

"She died Natsu! She died because of you!" He ran up to me pulling my collar.

"No! She died because of you! Just listen to me you fucking dick! I know what happened when you left!" I growled back. Pushing him away from me.

He fell on the floor and glared at me.

"Why you!" He stood up and punched me hard in the face.

I punched him back in the stomach as hard as I could, throwing him against the wall. I grabbed his collar and raised his body up.

"She went after you! She took out her I.V. to go after you!" I yelled angrily.

"You're lucky she chose you, you dumb fuck!" I continued .

I let him go and tears rolled down his cheeks. He fell to his knees trembling in guilt and sadness in reminder of the past.

"That can't be true." He shook his head.

Flashback...

Natsu's POV

"Natsu, I'm sorry but your my best friend, I don't feel the same." Zera told me.

"It's Zeref isn't it?" I clenched my fists.

"Y-Yeah." She stuttered.

"Look Natsu, we could still be friends." She smiled.

"Y-yeah, I-I'd like that." I lowered my head.

"Natsu, I will always treasure you. You're my best friend." She hugged me but she felt like she was about to break, she felt so fragile.

I hugged her back.

She suddenly fell to her knees. She was weak her body was trembling.

I went to visit her in the hospital the next day but I saw her rushing down the stairs. She looked so weak, her body was shaking.

I ran after her but I saw her body laying on the floor with blood on dripping off her head.

"Zera!" I yelled to get her.

"Zeref, I need to get to him. Please let me see him." She begged with tears spilling down her face.

"I'll let him visit tomorrow, okay? You need to rest." I said calmly as I carried her.

"No! Zeref's at the airport! He's going to leave forever!" She cried.

"W-What?!" I was shocked.

"I'll get him back. You have to stay here and rest." I said to her.

I called a nurse to come and help her.

I ran outside and took a taxi to go after Zeref.

When I arrived at the airport Zeref glared at me angrily.

"Zeref! You need to listen to me! Please! Zera is--" I yelled at him but disappeared to the walkway to the plane.

"Zeref! Zeref!" I yelled but security had blocked me pushing me down.

'I'm going to kill him.' I thought.

I went back to the hospital to check Zera's room but she was covered by a blanket, she had no IV beside her and her body wasn't moving. Her parents were crying infront of me.

"W-What happened to Zera?!" I panicked.

"We found her body at the first floor, she was bloody and she was hurt. She wanted to go somewhere but we couldn't understand her. She had fell down the stairs so many times her head couldn't take the damage and her brain tumor became worse." The doctor sighed.

"No! Zera!" I ran to her lifeless body and cried hard. I kept screaming her name hoping she'd wake up. I knew it was impossible but I couldn't handle it.

I couldn't blame Zeref for it, he had no idea. I was mad at myself, I wasn't there to take care of her.

Zera was the type of girl who's happy-go-lucky, she has a smile that can brighten up the room and that attitude that would always make you smile.

Because of her, two boys argued to win her over. Sadly those two boys were me and Zeref, best friends slash cousins.

Zeref thought he lost her heart and so he left. He left the girl he loved and he left his best friend, he became angry and lonely wich caused him to be a shut-in.

Zeref's POV

'I have to tell Natsu that I'm leaving tomorrow. I'm planning to take Zera with me and get other doctors for her brain tumor.' I thought.

I was about to visit Natsu but then I heard Zera and Natsu talking.

"Y-yeah, I-I'd like that." I lowered my head.

"Natsu, I will always treasure you. " I saw her hug Natsu.

I ran away. I didn't want hear it. It would just hurt me.

Screw it all. Maybe it is better for me to leave.

Maybe she is happy here. She lied to me.

The next day I hurried to the airport. I waited for the plane, and as soon as it came I walked to the walkway.

I heard Natsu calling me but I-- I hated it. I hated loosing, I loose everything and despise it.

That night I had arrived Natsu's father had emailed me that the one I hold dearly had died. I didn't blame Natsu but I hated the fact that she had chosen him over me.

I was unfair, we were closer, we-we even kissed. She told me she loved me back but--

''AAAAAHHH!' I screamed in my mind.

I hated myself for leaving her. I walked up to my room and punched the wall so many times.

I cried for hours, I wanted to see her.

I visited her funeral but I didn't come close to the others. I wasn't worthy of seeing her because I just left her. I'm so mad at myself for making this happen.

I regretted then rejected everyone that came in my way.

End of Flashback...

Ever since I've met new friends, I became softer, but when I met Lucy, I became myself again. I became happy.

Now that Natsu had told me I felt so much guilt but I felt relief that she Zera truly loved me.

"Sorry Natsu. I'm so sorry, it's all my fault. I'm sorry I took Lucy from you too." I cried hard.

"It's alright. It's not your fault." He hugged me in a brotherly manner.

"Thank you for forgiving me brother" I finally said.

Natsu patted my back. I finally had the time to calm down and breath properly.

"I'm sorry about taking Lucy away. I just loved her, I didn't care if you had a relationship." I chuckled nervously.

"As long as you two are happily married. That's fine with me." I looked up at him confusingly.

"She didn't tell you, didn't she?" I asked.

"Tell me what?" He looked back at me curiously.

"You'll figure it out at the wedding. It's in two weeks right? Plus you have to be early for Gray's Batchelor party." I said slapping his back playfully.

He coughed hard from my hit as I laughed at him.

"Jā matane Natsu!" I waved as I turned around.
