Lucy's POV

It hurt him but it was true. I don't think I have the strength to talk to him. I might break down into tears.

Natsu sat next to me, making me feel uneasy.
I knew that Erza planned these seats, so I glared at her as she was sitting at a table across the room.

All she did was wink and faced her attention back on Jellal.

I then felt Natsu stand up.

Finally. I thought

"Dance with me?" Nastu asked as he bore his onyx eyes on me.

Spoke too soon.

I took his hand and he led me to the middle of the room.

Like the stupid girl I am, I fell for his eyes once again. Making myself stare at him for the longest time.

He looks really handsome in his tux. I remembered tge last time we danced like this.

"You look beautiful." He whispered in my ear as he pulled me closer.

"Natsu--" I looked at him with a sad smile.

"It's okay, you don't need to say anything. I'm just surprised that you took my hand. " He chuckled.

"Well, I'm surprised that you asked me to dance." I giggled.

"I missed almost two years of your life. Don't you think I should catch up?" He smiled

"There's nothing much to catch up to anyway. Barely had fun here, my time's mostly consumed at work and at home." She sighed.

"Then maybe I should take the time I missed and spend it all on you." He smirked.

"Don't even try Dragneel." I laughed.

"Lucy, go out with me? Saturday?" He asked.

"No" I said with no hesitation.

"Why not?" He pouted.

"I just.. just no." I stuttered

"Oh come on, it's the handsome jock asking you out?" He smirked.

He's adorable.

"Just say yes Lucy." Juvia giggled as she swayed along with Gray.

"Okay then Dragneel" I smirked planning something evil.

He smiled warmly pulling me closer and closer. My face felt hot, I knew I was blushing.

Moments later he whispered something. I couldn't hear it.

"What?" I asked

This time hugged me tightly,  resting his head on my shoulder.

I hugged him back, feeling the warmth I've been longing for.

I was back in his arms, feeling so satisfied by it. I snuggled to the crook of his neck.

"I missed you Luce." He whispered again.

My heart felt warm and I felt butterflies in my stomach again.

A few moments later he pulled away to stare at me. I sighed and gave him a soft smile

"I love you Luce." He smiled.

"Natsu, I uhm I--" I hesitated. I wasn't sure about this. I don't know what to say.

Seconds had passed which felt like hours. I stood there dumbfounded, I wasn't ready.

"I'm sorry that I broke your trust and I understand if you don't feel the same way." He continued.

"I know I said that I couldn't trust you. It still hurts, I thought I would have been numb the next time I see you but I'm still not used to the pain." I tilted my head downward avoiding eye contact.

"I can fix that." He raised my chin up gently as he stared right into me, giving me that cute smile.

"I promise I'll make everything better." He smiled assuring me.

I couldn't say a word. I was stuck by his words.

"Why do you so this to me Natsu?" I sighed resting my head on his chest.

"Because I love you, isn't that obvious Hearfilia?" He chuckled making me smiled.

"Very obvious Dragneel. You do know that you've always failed to hide anything from me?" I giggled.
