"Is this really all that was caught in the scene?" Valt inquired in disappointment. There was little evidence of the crime and had never been clarified as a homicide, but an accident?
     "We've had other detectives the past years take a look at it, but since there's not much evidence to claim it was a murder, they agreed to keep it as an accident."
     "So you're giving up on my family case? Since when was it labeled as an accident?!" Valt exclaims.
     "Rest assured Aoi, you have my permission to look more into it. Do it at home, you have Shu to assist you with both cases if your desire to." Says the chief. Valt was glad to take the files home, but it annoyed him deeply that the police department called it an accident. Judging the photos on the scene, it's likely that it was intentional murder. Shu was waiting for the Omega to get out of the room, and hearing the door open beside him got his attention.

     "What did they say?" He questions.
     "I can look into it once my shift is over." He smiles as he kept the light orange folder close to his chest. He's been yearning to get a hold of it for 2 decades and it's finally come true. Shu appeared content with Valt's pheromone scent signaling him that the bluenette was getting emotional of the moment.
     He cleared his throat before asking the Omega, "Want to come over to my place? I'll prepare dinner for us to take a look at it with you."
     Valt's eyes shimmered, "Really? But, I was thinking about inviting you to come with me this weekend so we can focus on our current investigation!" He says. Shu's lips curved upwards before giving Valt a clear response. Instead, the two old friends made their way out of the office early to get groceries for the meal Shu will bake and enthusiastically headed to Shu's place.

     "The place hasn't changed one bit!" Valt exclaims as he sniffed the aruma of the apartment room. It gave him a wave of nostalgia.
     "It's still as white as a hospital!" He laughs as he scanned the color of the walls. Shu let out a little chuckle of the fact. Before Valt could put down his side bag, he noticed a candle lit on the corner of his eye. The decorations were flooded with cherry blossoms, red roses, and lavender. So that's where the smell was comic from?

He noticed Shu already in the kitchen, so he began to take a closer examination of the decor. Two photos were present, the large one had two people; his parents. The second was a selfie of himself with a woman. They appeared to be 18 or 20 years old. Her hair lavender like and eyes just the same hue.
     "Valt, aren't you coming over?" Question Shu from a short distance. The Omega was startled of the sudden voice behind him, he didn't notice Shu had been calling him over.
   
      "Sorry about that, it's just this decoration here looks like an offering— How long have they been gone?"
     "Mikan left 7 years ago. We had just graduated from a very expensive yet useful high school that allowed me to come and serve the police department. I flew to Japan and she stayed in Mexico since she had to start her job as a nurse somewhere." He began, "It was close to being New Years and as a nurse she would get out late, Alphas from a gang approached her and offered her to be an Escort in their society. She refused and of course it didn't end well."
Valt noticed how the albino was sensitive about the the topic, so he rubbed his hand on Shu's back to comfort him.
     "Did they catch the Alphas?"
     "Mexico isn't as great with they're system. They don't solve murder cases unlike the USA. Of course they won't take charge of her death!" He growled. Valt still comforted him and pulled him to the kitchen again.
     "After my investigation is over, we can someday avenge her death." Valt informed.

Shu looked at the Omega in awe, "You... Are you serious?"
     "Why wouldn't I be? Although I have little memory of her, she was most likely your only family that's been with you longer than your parents! Besides, everyone deserves justice, right?"
     Shu had a tiny visible blush on his cheeks, he laughed, "Heh! You're still so considerate, Valty."

     "Hmm..." Valt groaned feeling his head throbbing. The devil beside him was relieved seeing the angel regain his consciousness.
     "Are you alright? Do you need anything?" Shu asked concerned.
     "Shu?" Valt mumble, "Where...?"
     "This is your own room for the night. After looking at Tsumiki an hour ago, you passed out. Was it a hallucination?"
Valt nod and noticed Shu still eager to ask him more questions. Before he could say anything to the Alpha, the door behind Shu swung open and there stood the tall red-head holding onto a cup of herbal tea.
     "I'm not interrupting, am I?" He questions. The room felt like a sudden heavyweight on his shoulders.
     "No, you came just in time." Shu assured the other devil and lend Valt the tea himself. The bluenette enjoyed the warmth and nice feeling of clarity after taking a sip. It was sweet.
     "I'll get going, it's the afternoon and honestly I'm ready to sleep when the sun shines! See you two 9 hours or so later!" Uta chanted with glee as he gently closed the door behind him, leaving the Alpha and Omega alone again.
     "Were you here the whole time?" Valt asked first before Shu could mention what Valt dreamt about.
     "Why would I not have? Besides, being in the mortal realm is kinda better. " He says crossing his arms, "If something we're to happen to you, like death, then we would be sent back to our realms." He groaned. Valt surely did know of that, but he didn't think that after a short period of time, this devil really cared for him?

     "So, did you hallucinate or dreamed?" Shu inquired. Valt could tell that whatever question he had, it would sound like those psychological therapist appointments!
     "It was somewhat of a dream. You were there."
     "Why? We've known each other for a day, so sudden!" He exclaims.
     "I'm not sure, but your apartment looked familiar too. I saw an offering table with your parents and... Mikan."
     "....."
     Valt definitely noticed this hallucination was a part of his time alive. Yet he doubted that Shu was the one he was with that day. Even Tokonatsu and Nika looked exactly the way he remembered them at that time! Does this count as a part of his memory being unlocked?

     "Shu, try getting encounters with Tsumiki to get to the bottom of this. Let's see if you have me in your hallucinations." Valt ordered. Shu appeared to be down for that. Glad to know he was agreeable to such demand.
     "Finish up your tea and rest. That must've been quite an adventure." He comfort. Valt smiled at the Alpha and handed Shu his now empty mug.
     "Good night, Shu!"
     "It's not night but good night to you too, Valty."
