Chapter 6 •••Bianca•••

A/N: I spent two hours "cleaning" my room. I really just shoved a bunch of junk in bags and organized them in a professional fashion. I looks...um...better? Yeah. Better.

Just wanted to say, that I honestly appreciate everyone who's reading this story. I love you all, and the support makes me so happy.

•••

When I woke up that morning, I instinctively looked up at the bunk above me, expecting to see Jay and hear some stupid remark about how I slept in too long, or drooled in my sleep.

He wasn't there. My heart dropped into my stomach, and with a disappointed sigh, I climbed out of bed and got dressed slowly.

As I shoved my foot into my shoe, I heard a loud banging at my door. Hopefulness soared through me. Maybe it was Jay?

I tied my shoe as quickly as I could and ran to the door. As I opened it, my hopefulness was extinguished. It wasn't Jay. It was Asha.

Don't get me wrong, I love my sister and all, but I missed Jay. He was always lively and happy, and it was sad that I had no one to make my laugh first thing in the morning.

"I need to tell you something." Asha said, inviting herself in. "Again?" I asked. My voice was a little harsher than I had planned. Jay's disappearance was setting me on edge.

"Yes, again." Asha snapped. I stared at her, taken aback by her tone. I found her eyes and she found mine, and suddenly I realized just how worried she was.

"What is it, Asha?" I softened my voice. Sitting down on my mattress, I patted the spot next to me, inviting Asha to sit too.

Asha sighed and accepted my offer. She was tense beside me, as though she expected something to jump through the cabin window and bite her head off.

"I had a dream last night..." She began, her voice quivering slightly. I listened carefully as she spoke. I wanted to understand what was upsetting my sister so much. As she continued with the story, her voice became a little more even.

At the end, I couldn't blame her for being horrified. "Could you repeat the prophecy?" I asked. I wanted to remember it, considering it could come in handy.

"The blood that stains the ground will soon be yours. Beware the room of one hundred doors. Poison and darkness combined together. One on one, now or never." Asha recited.

I nodded, playing it over and over again in my head. "We should tell Chiron about this." I said. Asha looked uncomfortable. "I don't know, Bianca..." She muttered.

"Oh, come on! This could be important!" I pressed.

Eventually, Asha agreed, though I could tell that it was rather reluctantly. I led the way out of the cabin and to the dining pavilion.

Most people were already eating by the time we arrived. Asha was dragging her feet as though they were made of stone.

"Chiron!" I called as the centaur came into view. Chiron glanced over his shoulder at us and smiled warmly. "Hello Bianca, Asha." He greeted cheerily. "What brings you here today? Well, besides food, of course."

"Well, Asha had a dream last night..." I explained. As I went on with the story, Asha helped very little. Apparently, she didn't see any reason to say much, even though it had been her dream. She jumped in when I forgot a detail, but that was about it.

By the time I was done explaining, Chiron's expression had gone from cheery to grave. He seemed to age before Asha and I.

"Why don't you two eat together today." Chiron suggested. I was stunned into silence, and guessing by the look on Asha's face, she was too. "I need time to consider this, girls." Chiron added.

Shrugging, Asha and I walked over to the Hades table, where we sat with Andrew and ate our breakfast in a serious quiet.

Everything seemed pretty much normal, that is, until the screaming started.

Lately I had been hearing a lot of screaming and yelling at Camp Half-Blood. It never led to anything good.

Andrew, Asha, and I jumped out of our seats and immediately grabbed our weapons. Everyone else around us were on their feet as well.

Isaac, son of Nike, and Emily, daughter of Aphrodite, ran into the dining pavilion. These were the kids who had been poisoned previously, along with me. Even though their's had been caught earlier.

"Attack on camp!" Isaac yelled. "What?" Chiron's voice rose above the roar that followed Isaac's statement. "QUIET!"

Everyone stopped talking. Chiron clopped over to Isaac and Emily, his hooves making loud, echoing noises against the ground.

"How many?" He asked. Emily answered this time, her voice trembling slightly. "About three hundred, I think."

"Three hundred!?" Several voices, including Chiron's, rose at once. The rest of us gasped. "How are the boundaries holding up?"

"Shaky, Chiron. We're probably going to need to get out there. I don't think the boundaries have ever held against this many monsters uncontrolled." Isaac replied.

Chiron nodded. "You're right. Okay, we need to get ready. Everybody gear up!"

Waves of demigods and second generations surged outside, yelling. Some of us brandished our weapons like monkeys, waving them in the air.

I pulled my armor on as fast as I could, the fire of battle burning through my veins. I was excited. I hadn't fought a proper monster since I was poisoned, but in my defense, I had been unarmed.

I met Asha and Andrew outside. People were already rushing over to Thalia's Pine.

I looked at Asha and grinned, but she didn't grin back. Her face was serious, and her eyes had a dark, haunted look to them.

"What is it?" I asked.

Asha sighed. "I guess I'm just worried about what Arc said." She told me, keeping her voice low so Andrew, who was talking to a friend, wouldn't hear.

"Don't worry." I said, patting Asha's arm. "We won't be separated. We're twins." I paused. "And even if we were separated, we'd find each other."

"How?" Asha questioned, curiosity sparking in her eyes.

"I don't know. I can just feel it." I answered.

That was true.
I could feel it.
