Matchmaker Reputation
It was after school, and Fallon was just arriving back at her house. She put her bag down next to her shoes, then went into the kitchen. On the counter was the permission slips. She picked them up, and made a small gasp. They had been signed, and on the top was a note which read:
Fallon.
Sorry I couldn't stay long, I had to leave for a flight. I found the permission slips for the school holiday and signed them for you. I left you a present upstairs. Hope you have fun on your field trip.
Love, mum.
Her mum had been home for a few hours and hadn't even called her. It didn't surprise her, she was used to it. Her mum had never been around when she needed her. Maybe that was part of the reason she was so broken. She put the permission slips into her school bag, then went upstairs, still holding the note.
She put the note on her dresser, then looked around her room. Her mum had said she'd left her something in here, so where was it? She could see a box on her bed that she hadn't noticed before. She realised it must've been what her mum was talking about in her note. She sat on her bed and opened the box. Inside was a couple pairs of jeans, some shorts, t-shirts and some dresses. It was typical of her mum to buy her clothes, she always did. She didn't really care for clothes or material goods, all she had wanted was to spend time with her mum. She put the clothes away in her dresser, then looked out the window. A message flashed up on her phone. It was from Isabel. It was a photo of her latest rival, a girl called Emily. She sat back, leaning a little on the window and closed her eyes. Why was everyone in the school falling in love with her senpai? Couldn't they see he belonged to her and her alone? She opened her eyes, and heard someone banging at her door.
At the door was Hana, Theo and a boy Fallon didn't know.
"Fallon. You know how you set us up together?" Hana asked, not pausing to allow Fallon to answer. "You need to help Jordan make Emily fall in love with him." Emily. That name seemed familiar. Could it be the same Emily who had a crush on Noah? Fallon would help anyone if it meant she would have one less rival for Noah's love and attention. It seemed she had a reputation for being a matchmaker. She didn't think she was, but she could confirm she was a match with Noah and no one else even came close. That was the only match she cared about. She wished he had a crush on Ashley, that would solve so many more problems, but at least she was getting rid of a rival. It occurred to her that she hadn't killed anyone recently, maybe it was for the best. For her love for Noah, for her good karma, for her sanity.
