Casual Days
Fallon laid in her bed staring at the ceiling. It was Saturday, which meant no school, and no Noah. Days like this were ok, as they gave Fallon time to come up with ideas on how to eliminate her rivals. She needed something to get Penelope thrown out of school. She only needed one more successful attempt to frame her rival for breaking school rules. What would be worse than cheating, though. What about stealing? Yeah. Fallon could frame Penelope for stealing. But who could Penelope be stealing from? Fallon needed to be sure she wouldn't get caught stealing herself, or framing Penelope for stealing. She hadn't been caught so far, which seemed almost too good to be true. Fallon needed to be careful. She noticed she was sub-consciously playing with the ring on her finger. It had been a gift from her mother on her 17th birthday. She then had an idea. She could frame Penelope for stealing her ring. That way, the risk of getting caught would be reduced, and it would be better if something was stolen from the person reporting it. It would also mean she wouldn't have to rely on the reaction of the person she stole from. They could go to the guidance counsellor or headteacher. They could also confront Penelope themselves, or just not care. Fallon put the ring on the bedside table and reached for her phone. She had a message from Hana, which read Meet us in 15 mins at the park. Fallon checked when the message had been sent to her. 10 minutes ago. She only had 5 minutes to meet Hana, if she wanted to. She decided to go, as maybe Noah would be there. She was already dressed, wearing a long sleeved top and skinny jeans. Her hair was up in her usual ponytail. She put on her boots, grabbed a jumper and her bag and left to meet up with Hana.
The park was filled with local children, as well as a group of 17-18 year olds. They were Hana and their friends. With the group was Noah and Ashley. Fallon's heart skipped a beat when she saw Noah. She hardly saw him outside of school, and she hoped to do this more often. Maybe, one time, it would be just her and Noah. She sat down with the group next to James. He barely spoke to her, even though they considered each other friends. It didn't bother Fallon, as the only boy she truly cared about more than everything was Noah. Yeah, they were friends, but James was not Noah. Fallon didn't really get too involved with the banter, as she was the strong silent type. She preferred to observe from the distance. She could see Theo and Hana holding hands, and Ashley getting too close to Noah. She could also see James trying to talk to her. Did he have a secret that he was trying to tell her? She could sense that he was feeling uncomfortable, which was annoying Fallon for reasons she couldn't understand. She decided she would talk to him later. She didn't care, but she wanted this discomfort to go away
