Aluna Island

Fallon stood on her balcony looking over Aluna island as the sun was beginning to set. They had arrived a few hours earlier, and she had unpacked and just stayed in her room. She didn't feel like going anywhere. She had seen part of the island, and what she had seen was beautiful. She was looking forward to going out tomorrow and explore and relax. She closed her eyes for a moment as a gentle breeze passed her face. It was mostly silent except for the sound of the breeze passed through the trees beneath her balcony. She heard a quiet knock on her door, so she opened her eyes and went to the door.
"Hey Fallon. You feeling ok?" It was Hana. Fallon shrugged her shoulders, not knowing how she was feeling. She hadn't really felt anything, she had blocked out some of her emotion as well as the bad memories. It had become her defence mechanism, her safety. "Well, we're heading out. You should come." Fallon thought about it for a moment, before deciding to go. She didn't want to stay cooped up in this room the whole time. She put on a pair of sandals and locked up her room, heading out for the night with Hana.

The girls walked down the beach towards a club. They could hear the music from a mile away and see the light from the distance even though the sun was still high in the sky. Groups of students were on the beach drinking and dancing. It was a dance club on the beach. Fallon had never cared for clubs like this before, but she was a different person to who she was before. She hoped to see Noah at the club. She still needed to thank him for helping her on the cruise ship the first time James went for her. The memories haunted her, but they were over now. When James had attacked her on the top of the boat, Noah had come to her rescue. Maybe he cared about her? Maybe he loved her? She really hoped so. But tonight wasn't about that. It was a night out with her friends to have fun and just forget everything that had happened before.

It had been an hour since they had arrived at the beach club, and Fallon was stood with her friends. The sun was still high in the sky, but the atmosphere matched that of a dance club at midnight in a busy city. She enjoyed the atmosphere, but she always preferred the calm. She took a sip from her bottle, and walked over to an empty part of the beach, still with the club in sight. She watched the waves crashing on the shore calmly, feeling a little at peace. She played with the sand, feeling it between her fingers. The distant sound of the music could be heard along with the crash of the waves. She was calm, barely noticing the sound of someone approaching her from behind.
