Senpai 48

Their competitive nature lasted beyond the dining table.

When we retreated to the living room- and the adults to the sitting room- Will and Nicholas continued with their pointless 'I'm better than you' debate.

So far, it was 4-1 in Nicholas' favour. The only category Will had won was which boy knew London better. Like the Australian was ever going to win that one.

"How about this," Will said loudly, clicking his fingers as he turned his attention onto me. "I bet you I know Arwen better than you."

"Huh?" I involuntarily said. I coughed to clear my throat. "I, uh, mean- excuse me?"

I was more than confused by Will's statement, because as far as I was aware, he didn't know me at all. How could he, when for the better part of our lives, he's been ignoring my existence?

Miles, however, sat there with his head in his hands, brushing them through his hair every now and then, before he finally looked up at me with an apologetic smile. He mouthed, 'Sorry,' and motioned his head towards his best friend.

"Ask me anything about Arwen, and I bet you I know the answer," Will continued. He walked over to the coffee table and picked up three notebooks and three biros, handing me and Nicholas one of each, while taking the third for himself. "Miles and Jade can ask the questions, and we," he motioned between him and Nicholas. "Write the answers we think are right. If our answer matched Arwen's, we get a point."

"I don't think I like being a pawn in your macho game," I said, crossing my arms over my chest.

I may have when not have bothered speaking at all, because neither boy took the slightest bit of interest in me, and soon Jade was asking the first question.
