Horror

About 3 vargas later, Elara woke up from her long nap and looked out the ship's windows and dread filled her. She saw Altea in awful condition, it was no doubt about to explode. She felt tears build up from the corners of her eyes as she thought of Melenor, Alfor, Allura, and Coran. The stress and despair came crashing back. She couldn't bear to step out of that room. She felt her heart shatter. Dayak entered, sensing the Empress was uneasy, Dayak saw Elara as the daughter she never had.

"Elara, dear, are you alright?" Dayak asked frantically.

"What has he done?" Elara said in a quiet whisper, she couldn't take her eyes off the destroyed planet.

"He has avenged our home... apparently." Dayak responded sadly. Elara shook her head slowly.

"No... Daibazaal fell because of his arrogance. If anyone is to be at fault, it's him." Elara said, she sat back down on the edge of the bed feeling dizzy. Dayak sat down beside her and rubbed her back trying to calm her.

"You must calm down... think of your daughter. She needs you to stay calm, the stress you feel right now is hurting her, Elara." Dayak said. Elara was trying her hardest to ease herself, all she could do was shut her eyes and hope this was all just a bad dream, one she'd wake up from and everything would be fine.

"I don't like this either. I truly don't but there's nothing we can do, and you aren't in any condition for an argument." Dayak said, the door opened, and Elara hesitantly opened her eyes and to her displeasure saw the almighty destroyer of Altea himself.

"Dayak. You are needed with Lotor and Bellatrix." Zarkon said. Elara silently growled as he spoke her children's names. Dayak nodded and gave Elara one last look, one that pleaded with her to stay calm, before she left the room.

"I know how you feel Elara..." Zarkon said coldly.

"Lies..." Elara hissed, her eyes glowed purple like his and it left Zarkon silent.

"How so?" Zarkon asked, towering over her as he stood in front of her.

"You can't possibly know how I feel... I saw you lifeless. I was at the service on Altea that Alfor didn't hesitate to put together for you! Because he cared about you! You were like brothers! Melenor and I were like sisters! That wretched witch and the quintessence has rid you of the ability to have mercy! It was your very arrogance that lost us Daibazaal! Quite frankly I'm embarrassed to even be married to a tyrant like you" Elara scolded, her nostrils flaring, and her ears pinned down. The silence from Zarkon was pissing her off even more.

"For the love of the gods Zarkon say something!" Elara snarled, growing severely impatient.

"The Galra Empire has a reputation of being the more brutal, powerful, and feared empire in the known Universe. It faltered when we allied with Altea and everyone else, I, Emperor Zarkon with not let it be forgotten, I will crush anyone who stands against me, consider yourself lucky that you are married to me and carry my child at this moment." Zarkon said, his voice laced with venom. Elara stood there, not even phased.

"Do you honestly think you scare me?" Elara asked, a bit of a chuckle. "I know you better then everyone here. You may not hesitate when it's any other being, but you know as well as I do you'd never even dream of harming me, or the children." She said, her facial expression simply screamed 'try me.'

"I.." Zarkon started but was cut off by the woman in front of him.

"Now if you'll excuse me I'm bored and tired of this conversation, so good day." She said, as she left the room check on her kids, she was devastated about Altea, but she knew if she showed any point of weakness Zarkon or Haggar wouldn't hesitate to use it against her. Thank the Galran gods she's a clever one that knows how to go about toxic muchachos...
