Elara was out with her mother at a food market since she had nothing else to do and she didn't see her mother very often, well truthfully she didn't see either of her parents that much, her father hasn't retired from his General position. Helgara wanted to spend time with her daughter, and mostly to but with endless questions of her love life.

"So how's life with you know who?" Helgara asked grinning playfully at her daughter.

"Mother, I don't like talking about it out here, I think you know that." Elara groaned, giving her mother an annoyed glare. Helgara simply chuckled.

"Oh come on I'm your mother, tell me something dear." She pleaded. Just as Elara was about to say something, a familiar voice was heard that made both their blood boil. Their pupils narrowed like an angry cat and the ears pinned down.

"Look who it is..." her narcissistic ex Razor hissed. The two females ignored him and turned around to avoid an argument.

"He just doesn't quit..." Helgara growled.

"I know. It's the attention he wants." Elara said, her ears pinned down. The two were startled to see Razor standing in front of them, even though they had just turned away from him.

"No I want what's rightfully mine." Razor hissed, to his surprise the mother daughter duo started laughing. He looked at them both wide eyes.

"That's hilarious! You could be a comedian. Jealousy worked out pretty good for you after all, but then again, I don't care anymore." Elara said, walking past him with her mother who was still laughing.

"Jealous? I'm not jealous!" Razor hissed.

"Then why do you want me back? Why so persistent? You can't stand seeing me happy with someone else, all you did was abuse me and I find your lack of ability to move on hilarious!" Elara said, chuckling.

"Uh I-I" Razor struggled to speak, shocked that the one he had abused for so long was now telling him off.

"Now if you'll excuse us, we're leaving now." Elara said, leaving with her mother. She finally regained her confidence and wasn't afraid to shut down anyone who tested her.

Elara and her mother had just arrived at her parent's house.

"My gods, he's so annoying, it's actually sad." Elara said sitting on a couch with her mother who was dying to know about Elara's love life.

"For the love of the gods Elara! Tell me something about him already!" Helgara shrieked at her daughter, who shut up and stared at her mother wide eyed, then sighed.

"Fine... what do you want to know?" Elara reluctantly asked her mother who was grinning ear to ear.

"Where did you take you on your first? What's the best thing he's ever said to you? What does he call you?!" Helgara asked frantically, not giving herself time to breath.

Elara sighed heavily before answering, "he took me to a gladiator match, when I said Sendak is my opposite, he said that Sendak isn't ugly, I hope you get what he meant, and we don't use pet names."

Just then Sendak entered with Vorak, "Hey there Emperor's angel, his words exactly!" Sendak exclaimed which made Helgara squeal, and Elara face palmed herself.

"Emperor's angel? That sounds like a nice name." Vorak chuckled.

"Ok! I'm gonna get going now. I'm very tired. So bye!" Elara said, awkwardly, bolting towards the door only to have Sendak stop her.

"By the way he wants us in the palace tomorrow." Sendak said, smirking. Elara groaned at her brother's annoying face and left to go home, her family is making her life so difficult.
