Zarkon and Elara were talking to Keith, hyping him up since he and Bellatrix were getting married tomorrow and he was more nervous about having Zarkon as a father-in-law and Elara as a mother-in-law. They were reassuring that they'd take it easy on him.

"The only reason we'd ever hurt you if you ever heard our daughter." Zarkon said.

"To be honest it would be more than just a little painful." Elara said. Zarkon nodded in agreement.

"Well what were your in-laws like?" Keith asked.

"Well Elara's parents were very nice but they were always on me to make sure she was happy." Zarkon said.

"What about his parents?" Keith asked, turning to Elara.

"Well... His mother was an angel and his father hated me so... I loved Athena, she was the sweetest. His father Buloc (made up name just go with it) on the other hand, not so much." Elara huffed.

"I stopped talking to my father because of one specific thing he said to Elara while she was pregnant with Bella. It was beyond cruel and narcissistic." Zarkon said, he got a little angry remembering that dreadful day.

"What happened?" Keith asked. Elara sighed and Zarkon started telling the story.

"Well what happened was..."

Ten thousand something years ago-

Buloc and Athena were invited to visit the palace by Zarkon. Lotor was happy to see his grandparents after a while of not seeing them. Elara was two months away from giving birth at this point and would be out of breath by just standing. They were all relaxing in the lounge room when Buloc started making cruel comments and insulting poor Elara right in front of her and Lotor. She was very emotionally fragile because she's expecting and he didn't care at all.

"I can't believe you fell for a monstrosity like that! All these years, every man in the family has had a woman worth the energy. She isn't worth a fraction of your time! Sure the last one was a psychopath but this one is pregnant and it may not even be yours! A Galran man of your status and wound up with a nobody like her? Really?! I pray that baby doesn't live to save you the energy!" Buloc raged.

"WHAT?!" Zarkon screeched.

"Did you just wish death on our unborn grandchild?!" Athena gasped in horror and disgust.

"What did you expect to do?!" Buloc hissed.

"You need to come correct right now! She doesn't need to suffer because of a narcissist like you! It's cruel and morally wrong!" Athena spat. Lotor was getting startled and his behind Athena.

"What have I ever done to you to deserve any of this?" Elara asked, tears brimming in her eyes.

"You're wasting my son's time and energy! He deserves better than you! I don't blame your ex for anything he's done to you, you were asking for it!" Buloc hissed.

Elara went silent, she got brief flashes of the abuse she endured and the tears slid out of her eyes.

"Come on Elara, you don't deserve this. The stress isn't good for you, the  baby, or Lotor." Athena said, Elara didn't say anything and left the room with Athena and Lotor.

"You to leave, mother will stay here. You aren't welcome here anymore and don't expect me to contact you ever again. I love her more than you'll ever know, if can't respect my marriage to her and the fact the she's carrying your unborn grandchild than you are no father of mine." Zarkon declared. Buloc didn't say anything and had to be escorted out by palace guards.

Athena never went back to Buloc again. Zarkon had purchased a place for her to live near the palace. Zarkon had to console Elara who was a sobbing mess.

End of story-

"Wow... He's an asshole." Keith said.

"Indeed." Elara sighed.

"I never spoke to him again after that. He and my mother separated and they never spoke again." Zarkon said.

"Honestly, I'm glad he never got to meet the any of the kids. It would've been too much drama. Athena was a whole other story, she adored Bella and she gut along very well with parents, our mothers were practically best friends." Elara said.

"I'll be fine, you two get along great with my mom and Kolivan. Gods forbid they kids but everything will be fine right?" Keith said somewhat less nervously.

"Yes you'll perfectly fine." Elara said with a smile.

"We're actually glad Bellatrix found somebody like you, you two are exactly the same. Don't hurt her and we'll be fine." Zarkon said.

"Yeah. Deal. We should all go get some sleep." Keith said.

"Agreed. Good luck and don't stress yourself too much." Elara said.

She and Zarkon left to get some sleep and Keith learned that he'd be a big brother to twin girls in ten months. Oh boy...
