A very crappy day
Days went by since Zarkon accidentally hurt Elara, she isolated herself away from him. It hurt him even worse to know she was scared of him. Sendak tried to tell Zarkon that she knows it was an accident and just needed time to relax, but Zarkon was paranoid that she'd want to leave him completely. The tension only rose with each passing day, everyone in the family prayed that they'd make amends, but as of right now, they weren't even close to talking at all.
Days later-
Something happened so quickly, the paladins were dealing with Lotor, something clearly went south. The paladins have just returned to the Galra Central Cammand ship's command room where everyone was, well everyone but Elara, Cressida, and the younger kids, and it was obvious something went very wrong. They looked down with sad faces.
"What's wrong?" Bellatrix asked, breaking to silence.
"What happened out there?" Zanthea asked.
"Lotor had us chase him down, and he went into a quintessence field..." Shiro explained.
"We tried chasing him out but at the end... he never made it out..." Keith said truthfully.
"Are you trying to say that... he's dead?" Zarkon asked.
"We're so sorry..." Hunk said, genuinely feeling sorrow for them.
"No..." Zanthea sniffled and left the room, Bellatrix sighed sadly and went after her sister.
Bellatrix walked into a lounge room to find her mother comforting Zanthea. Zanthea and Bellatrix had stronger bonds with Lotor, they were his little sisters, they got along perfectly, and terrorized Razor together. It hurt the teen girls a lot. Cressida wiped some tears away, Helthena, Farah, and Koltor didn't understand why everyone was crying but felt the need to take action. Bellatrix and Zanthea sat down on the couch to cry theirs souls out, Helthena hopped onto Zanthea's lap and let Zanthea hug her. Farah did the same thing with Bellatrix, Koltor, now a year old, but still pretty small, did it with his mother. Zarkon and Sendak then entered the room. Zarkon felt lost, he wants to comfort Elara but she probably wouldn't let him touch her.
"You might as well..." Sendak said before heading over to comfort Cressida.
Zarkon couldn't stand there and let Elara cry with comfort of a mere child. He mustered up all the courage he had left and made his way to emotionally drained lady, sat next to her, and hugged her. To his surprise, she didn't even flinch or try to move away, she leaned into the hug and continued crying. Everyone mourned together, Zarkon said they'd accompany the paladins to earth, at the galaxy garrison and for a little while. But for now, they'd mourn over Lotor.
