Ada

"Ada."

"Dada."

"Ada!"

"No, say dada."

Natasha hiccupped in response.

Patrick sighed. He let Natasha reach up and lift the hat up off of his head as Ryan laughed somewhere behind him.

"I think you make a great ada, Patrick." Ryan teased.

Patrick rolled his eyes. "Thanks, Ryan." He pushed himself up from the floor, grabbing a baseball cap that Brendon had left on the arm of the couch when he and Pete had left to get pizza. He adjusted it firmly on his head, feeling better than having nothing there at all.

"Agent." Ryan cooed, gesturing Natasha towards him. "Your fairy gay parent™ needs some cute too, stop letting your ada hog you."

Natasha giggled. She pulled Patrick's fedora firmly on her head and began to make her way over to Ryan.

Patrick wandered into the kitchen as the two laughed and giggled behind him. He felt like getting something to eat, despite Pete and Brendon being out on a food mission. A cold snack just sounded so good... Maybe he would message Pete to ask for a frosty on the way back home...

"Earth to the stripper."

Patrick turned to Ryan, who wore a mischievous grin. "Knew that would get your attention." He winked before pushing himself up to his feet. Natasha had lost interest in him and had chosen to start playing with her stuffed llama.

Patrick shook his head. "Remember when you thought I'd actually training the dog to bite your mini Ross off?"

Ryan laughed, "Good times!" He made his way into the kitchen and leaned against the fridge. He tilted his head to the side while looking Patrick up and down. "What's up?"

Patrick shrugged.

"Liar." Ryan accused, "You're distracted by something. I can see it on your face."

Patrick slid his hands into the pockets of his jeans. He hated how Ryan could tell. Why couldn't he just stick to his usual ball of rambunctious energy just a bit longer? "It's nothing, Ry." His voice came out so soft that it was barely audible.

Ryan's brown furrowed in concern. "You sure?"

Patrick nodded, despite not being sure at all. He could have just been dreaming what was troubling him. He had woken up covered up with Pete lying on the ground in front of him, rather than Natasha curled under her blanket like when he had fallen asleep. Sometimes dreams mixed with reality... Or reality mixed with dreams? He could have sworn he heard the door and a conversation but...

"I'm here if you need me." Ryan said. Worry was still etched in his expression, but it quickly faded to be replaced with a grin. "You know who else is there? The kik chat you abandoned."

Patrick groaned, although he was silently thankful for the subject change. "I really don't want to talk about what happened."

Ryan set his lips in a firm line and slide his fingers across it in a zipping motion. "We've moved past it. The current debate is about who the best Weasley is."

Patrick raised an eyebrow. "Who's winning?"

"Guess you'll have to come back to see."

"Well played..."

In the other room, the sound of the door opening echoed. "Seems like the whole damn world went and lost its mind." Brendon was complaining. He held three pizza boxes in his arms with a two liter of soda balanced on top of them.

"Hey!" Ryan crossed his arms over his chest, "Don't you compromise the tiny one's innocence with your foul language."

"What are you gonna do, spank me?" Brendon shot Ryan a wink.

Ryan wiggled his eyebrows.

Pete walked in behind Brendon, holding a tray of drinks that didn't look like they were from the pizza place. He grinned when he made eye contact with Patrick. "Hey, Punk."

Patrick's heart fluttered. After all this time, it still fluttered. That damn smile. Those damn eyes. That damn boy. "Hey."

Pete hurried through the living room and set the mystery cups on the counter that separated the living room and kitchen. He stepped around it and walked up to Patrick. "You look real cute in that hat." He muttered as hell leaned in towards Patrick.

Patrick shut his eyes as Pete leaned in closer. He could feel his husband's lips just centimeters away from his own. He wanted to take the lead and lean forward to connect them. He wanted Pete to hold him tight. He wanted this moment. He loved this man to death. Despite the nagging in the back of his head, he couldn't stop his feelings.

"I brought a surprise." Pete's voice was I his ear before his lips were on Patrick's.

Patrick hummed in question against Pete's lips. He didn't open his eyes.

"Stop this PDA in front of the child!"

"Shut up and grab some pizza, Ryan."

Patrick only opened his eyes when Pete pulled away. Pete was grinning as he pulled one of the cups from the container he had carried in. "Nat's old enough for frosties, right?" He asked, holding one up for Patrick.

Patrick laughed. He shook his head and looked up at Pete. His husband's eyes were beaming with excitement. Patrick couldn't hold back the huge grin that spread over his face. "Have I told you how much I love you?"
