*Emily's P.O.V.*

My adventure began here, at Battery Park City School.

I thought this would be a normal day; get up, go to school, hang out with Benny and Rue, go back home, go to sleep, repeat.... I remember that morning, like any other morning, I prayed to God that a adventure would come my way....

I never expected His reply.....

"Katniss! Wait up!" Benny called out my nickname, as I placed my backpack into my locker. I looked towards him, smiling as I greeted warmly, "Hi, Benny! How is life?" Benny beamed, putting his stuff into his own locker, replying, "Life is great!"

Benny doesn't look like many other boys his age. Half a year older than me, his curly blonde hair did a cute curl in the front. Benny's pale skin was near the color of milk, with his dark brown eyes and eyebrow appearing like buttons and lines against his skin. Benny almost always wears dark blue clothing, unless he's wearing some other type of color. (Here's a photo!)

"Guess what?" Benny asked me, to which I replied, "What? Is your mom letting you join the churches choir?!" Benny and my families are Christian; we believe God sent His One and Only Son, Jesus Christ, down to this world to die for our sins...only to rise again 3 days later!

Benny sighed sadly, replying, "Sadly, no." He perked up again, urging me, "Guess again!"
"Hm.....a Senator running for President, named Senator Morra, is coming by this school today?"

"Yes! How did you know?!?" Benny asked, eyes wide.

"There's a banner outside, over the front doors, with his name on it, silly." I giggled, causing Benny to blush slightly.

Senator Morra, a Senator running for President, was planned to come by the school, to see how our education was coming along. Weirdly, My parents had strictly told me to keep my little sister, Rue, under my protection, not entirely trusting the Senator.....

I looked around, asking, "Wait, where is Rue...?"

"KATNISS!!!! KATNISS!!!"

"RUE?!?" I called out, hearing my sister calling frantically for me. Where is her pleading coming from....? A open window near me leads to the playground, where I can hear her calling my nickname!

Quickly, I took off, Benny following close behind me. "I'm such a idiot!" I mentally screamed, reaching the doors leading outside, "Why didn't I make sure Rue was by my side?!?" Once I reached the school playground, I frowned.

There, the leader of the bullies, Duncan, held my little sister Rue by the back of her shirt! His minions were around him, glaring towards me. Quietly, I whispered to Benny, who passed me his portable electric toothbrush.

I walked towards the bully's, until Duncan yelled to me, "Come any closer and Rue gets hurt!" Growling, I stopped, standing in the center of the basketball court. Kids, teens and teachers alike stood on the sidelines, afraid to make a sudden move.

Finally, I broke the silence by asking, "What do you want with me, Duncan? Leave my sister out of this..." Duncan smirked, telling me, "I got a proposition for you, Katniss. If you can fix this Rubik's Cube in 10 seconds, I won't hurt Rue...."

"But I've never been able to fix a Rubik's Cube in under 10 seconds!" I gasped dramatically, before glaring at the lead bully. Rue struggled against Duncan, calling out, "Katniss!!!" I smiled reassuringly to her, as I said, "Hi cupcake!" Rue smiled as I added, "Don't worry; I'm gonna help ya!"

Duncan growled, throwing me the Rubik's Cube. "Under 10 seconds, Katniss. Or else." I looked down at the Cube, immediately fixing it. I echoed the clock in my head, fixing the Rubik's Cube in 5.8 seconds! I held up the Cube for everyone to see, as people whispered among themselves....

"KATNISS!!!" Rue screamed when a guy kicked me in my back! I fell down to the ground, immediately shutting off the part of my mind that registered pain. Spinning around, I kicked the guy where the sun don't shine. Everyone cringed, as the guy turned into a soprano! His scream was so high, I had to cover my ears!

The guy fell down, as I got up. 3 guys surrounded me, growling darkly. I quickly stuck the electric toothbrush in the nearest guys mouth, ducking when the guy spat the toothbrush out. The toothbrush hit the one guy in the head, flying up and going down the last guys shirt.

Dodging their attack, I rolled over a guys back, running over to Duncan and Rue. Duncan pushed Rue away, making her fall to the ground. Bad move. Landing a punch to the bully's face, I kicked him in shin, causing him to fall to the ground, screaming in pain. Yep, a bone was poking out of his skin, but I didn't really care at the moment. 

At that moment, I was more worried about Rue.

Kneeling down next to my sister, I placed a hand onto her shoulder, asking, "Are you ok, sis?" Rue nodded her head, hugging me. I hugged back, cradling her as I scooped her up into my arms. I walked away from a crying Duncan, carrying my sister over to Benny. My friend checked Rue, then me, asking, "Are you 2 alright?!"

I nodded, as the Principal stormed over to us, ticked off with me. I groaned slightly, the registration of pain entering my back where I was kicked. Benny hugged me, as a certain Senator walked towards us...

Principal Market growled darkly, "Have you any idea what you've done, Emily Cooper....!?!?" "What I saw was a older sister saving her sister from a bully. That's not against school policy, is it, Marius Market?" Our principal hesitated before he spoke, "No...."

"Then what's the problem?" Senator Morra asked, to which I raised an eyebrow. Why would anyone stand up for me....? Principal Market frowned, finally saying, "Theres no problem, Senator." As paramedics took Duncan to the hospital, (I hope my parents don't work on him!), Senator Morro walked over to us.

I held Rue protectively, as the Senator asked me, "What's your name, child?"

"....Emily, Emily Cooper."
