*Emily's P.O.V.*

At the FBI headquarters, Rue, Benny and I sat with Brian Finch and Rebecca Harrison, sipping on some hot chocolate. Bombarded by questions, Agent Boyle asked me, "Have you ever seen Sands before?"

I shook my head no, "No, I have not. I didn't even meet Senator Morra until today!.....Ow!" Agent Harrison apologized, bandaging my injured arm, "Sorry, Emily." I shrugged, telling her, "It's OK....."

"Emily! Rue!"

"Mom! Dad!" Rue and I yelled, running over to our parents. Mom scooped Rue up into a hug, as Dad pulled me in a bear hug. Our family held each other close, Rue and I feeling safe in our parents arms.

Parents......

"OK, could you two please start explaining why some weird guy named Sands thinks I'm a Senators daughter?! And why do I have light blue blood?!" I asked my parents, who looked....Ashamed? Embarrassed? Sad? I wasn't too sure what they were thinking of.

My parents looked a lot like my sister; dark brown hair, pale skin and sharp blue eyes. The only minor difference was that my little sister had a scar running over her one eyebrow, a childhood accident involving a razor.... But that's not a story for now.

Dad sighed, pulling me back into his strong arms as he said, "Emily....Do you know why your mother and I have always told you that Senator Morra means trouble?" I shook my head no. To be honest, I thought my parents didn't like him only because of his ideals.

Mom hesitated before she told me, "Emily....*sigh* Your.....Y-Your....." "Adopted?" I asked, coming up with that logical deduction, "It would explain why I don't largely look like you guys, why I look like Senator Morra and why Sands wants me to hurt Senator Morra."

Dad nodded, explaining, "You see, there's this pill out there called NZT-48. It gives the person the ability to become the smartest person for up to 12 hours! But, the pill will kill you within a few years time."

"You are the only one who has the NZT formula in their veins," Mom explained to me, kneeling in front of me as if I was a little girl, "We discovered you on our doorstep, as a little girl. A note you had with you told us that you were the daughter of a Edward Morra, and that he'd like to have you back once you were old enough to go to school. Thinking he was a bad man for leaving you, we didn't allow you to go back with him when he came to take you away." I looked surprised, even as Brian asked, "Morra tried to take Emily away from you two?!"

Benny hugged me protectively, growling, "What a freak!" My mom nodded her head, saying, "That's why we decided to move here, to New York City, to get away from Morra. But he seems to have a way of finding people." I gently pulled Benny off of me, saying outloud, "That's pretty weird, to be quite honest with you." Dad sighed, telling me, "We wanted to tell you who you were related to, but we were worried that you'd be mad at us."

Tilting my head, I asked, "Why would I be upset? Sure, you two lied to me and all for years......*my parents looked ashamed at themselves*..... but your my parents! Birth parents or not, your the ones who raised me, and the ones I trust and love."

My parents smiled, hugging me and Rue. I smiled towards my sis, touching her nose as I added, "I love you too, little one." Rue groaned at me touching her nose in front of others, causing Benny to giggle.

Brian Finch smiled, asking, "So what's gonna happen now?" "What's gonna happen now is that Emily Cooper, Rue Cooper, their parents and Benny are going to a safe house to hide from Senator Morra." Nasreen told us, coming from out of no where!

Raising an eyebrow, I jerked my head towards the head special agent, asking my parents, "How come you guys have the phone number of the head special agent of the FBI?" Mom giggled, revealing, "She's my sister!"

"What?!?" Benny and Rue gasped, completely shocked. My mind went into calculating mode, as I said, "That would make a quite logical explanation." Benny sighed, asking Rue, "Is she always gonna sound like Sherlock Holmes?" Rue nodded her head, "Probably." I rolled my eyes at the two, asking Nasreen, "What can I do to help? I'm pretty good with.....Well, anything, I reckon." I didn't really like calling myself a wiz kid, since I didn't want to promote myself as better than anyone.

Cause like everyone else, I've faced my demons.....

Nasreen smiled politely, telling me as if I were a kid, "This is a federal building, Emily. There's not a lot that you could do here....." I frowned, saying to a guy having trouble with the newest Pokemon game, "You need to attack a Pokemon before you can capture it!"

The guy sheepishly followed my advice, capturing a Mimikyu. Nasreen raised an eyebrow at the both of us, as I admitted, "Sorry, that was bothering me since we got here! And I can be really helpful, honest I can!"

"..... You really don't want to be stuck in a safe house, do you?" Rebecca Harrison asked me. I vigorously nodded yes, saying, "I'll go crazy with boredom!" Brian Finch giggled, commenting, "That sounds a lot like me."

Nasreen rolled her eyes, telling me, "Fine, but there will have to be a few rules for you to work here...." "May I make one request?" I asked, holding up my hand like a little child. Nasreen nodded, to which I requested, "Is it alright if Rue and Benny stay with me, keep me company as I work here? There both pretty strong and smart!"

Nasreen smiled, saying, "I think we can make a acception for them." Benny fistpumped and hugged me, to which I hugged back, giggling. "Now let's settle down on rules..." I groaned. Let's hope the rules aren't too bad....

Sorry for not updating this book sooner! I was disappointed when not a lot of people read this book, so I sorta gave up on it. But thanks to coolgirl12121, my love for this book has rekindled! Expect more updates....Hopefully soon, cause I have so many things that need to be updated. XD Sorry again!
