Risa's Apartment

Y/N POV:

We had to hide from whoever was chasing us, so Itami brought to his ex-wife's apartment. We stand in the doorway of her apartment

Tomita: Lieutenant, who is this?

Itami: Oh, this is Risa...She's my ex-wife.

Kuribayashi: She's your...

Tomita:...Ex-wife sir?!

I can hear a lot of commotion as I'm looking at missed call on my phone deciding I'll get to it later. I head to the doorway to see Risa.

Y/N: *waves* Hi Risa.

Risa: Oh hi L/N, good to see you again!

Kuribayashi: Wait Lieutenant, you know each other?

Y/N: We met a few times.

Everyone goes inside and gets comfortable Lelei is amazed at all the books Risa keeps, Rory is freaking out over a porcelain doll, and Pina and Bozes are looking at one of Risa's "comics" featuring homo-erotica but I digress. Itami explains the situation to Risa while she eats and Tomita keeps watch.

Itami:...and that's why we're here.

Risa: Coming here was an awful idea...Okay...There's nothing about this to justify getting me mixed up in something so dangerous.

Tomita: That's right sir, she might be your ex but she's still a civilian.

Y/N: I second that, plus a lot of guys I know would rather got to Iraq than their exes.

Tomita: On top of that it probably wasn't a good idea to lose the Bureau guy.

Itami: Yeah well. We keep running into all these problems whenever that creepy dude's around.

Y/N: Probably not, but probably someone close to him.

Later everyone tries getting some sleep. I try to as well but I just can't after everything going on right now. I hear Tomita and Risa talking.

Tomita: Miss Risa.

Risa: Hmm?

Tomita: So it's true... you were actually married to Lieutenant Itami.

Risa: I was... I suppose we're friends now.

Tomita: The two of you were able to remain friends even after getting a divorce?

Y/N: (That's something that never happens when a Marine gets a divorce.)

Risa: Hmm... Other folks might have a problem. However, it's not like we were mad at each other. The two of us weren't exactly what most people call a classic normal married couple. We're both kinda freaks...and realized it works out better this way.

Tomita: Fair enough, so how do you know Lieutenant L/N?

Risa: Oh, he stayed over a couple of times. Guy couldn't hold his sake all that well when he went out with Itami. And well um... other things happened.

I approach them

Y/N: One time I stayed over after too many drinks. I took a shower and came out without a shirt on and Risa, well she went a little crazy.

3rd POV:

Y/N heads towards the entry way not knowing he accidentally woke up Kuribayashi, he sits down and answers his phone and Kuribayashi not intending to eavesdrops on his phone call.

Y/N: Hello, hey Mom.

Kuribayashi: (His mom's calling at this hour. Oh right it's daytime in America right now.)

Y/N: Yeah, Merry Christmas to you as well.... I can't talk really loud there's people trying to sleep.

Kuribayashi: (He must be used to spending holidays away from his family.)

Y/N: Where am I? I'm still in Japan...Oh you saw my testimony...I know, politicians are the same no matter where you're from.

Kuribayashi: (He's real close with his family.)

Y/N: *sighs* Listen, I am so sorry I couldn't be at Dad's funeral.

Kuribayashi: (He couldn't attend his own father's funeral.)

Upon hearing that Kuribayshi chest begins to ache feeling sorry for Y/N's loss and that he couldn't attend his father's funeral.

Y/N: The Japanese Commander offered me some emergency leave when he got word of Dad's passing but I turned it down... Cause you know what Dad would have said, "Mission comes first".... Well I couldn't just abandon my mission and my unit just for that.

Kuribayashi: (He turned downed emergency leave for us.)

Y/N: I'm sorry I don't mean to sound cold or anything. But we knew it was coming, his heart had been going bad for a while. That's why the Navy retired him... How have you been holding up?....Well that's great, I'm glad you got support...Tell you what I when this whole other worldly war is over, I'll come home we'll mourn Dad properly and I got some stories for you...Alright Mom I'll talk to you later.... I love you too bye.

Y/N hangs up his phone and puts it in his pocket and his right hand begins shaking and he put's his head in his hands trying to hold back his grief and sorrow for the loss of his dad. Kuribayashi wants to walk over to him and comfort him but decides to give him some space for now.

TIME SKIP MORNING

Y/N POV:

After the phone call with my mom I kept watch most of the night, still thinking about my dad. Itami starts giving us the plan for the day.

Itami: Alright it's time to have some fun!

Kuribayashi: Huh? You've gotta be kidding me. We don't have time to screw around!

Itami: Listen. My motto is you gotta live hard and play even harder. And of course...probably eat and sleep in between. Besides, if we end up going exactly end up going exactly where we're supposed to, then the threat will be there. We might as well go where the people are there's more witnesses that way.

Bozes walks over to Tomita and whisper something in his ear.

Itami: And I'll do some recon at the manga store.

Y/N: Yeah, you do that.

Risa: WHAT?!

Itami: Shut! Up! What about you?

Tomita:The ladies here... they've asked to go to a library, to examine some documents.

Y/N: I have to meet up with someone.

Kuribayashi: I'll go with you Lieutenant.

Y/N: Very well, we can make it look like we're on a date or something. But I need you hang back when I meet my contact.

Kuribayashi: *blushes* A d-date.

Itami: Well alright then, Risa team is going shopping, Tomita team is going to a library, And L/N and Kuribayashi are going on their "date." Right! It looks like we've got our marching orders. And at 1400 hours meet up at Shinjuku Station and head over to the hot spring.

Risa: All right! Woo!

Time Skip Public Park

Y/N POV:

Kuribayashi and I are walking in a park arms linked she seems to be enjoying herself. I took her to breakfast this morning and I got a text from my contact saying where to meet. I see him on a bench reading a newspaper.

Y/N: There he is, remember hang back and keep your eyes open.

Kuribayashi: Y-yes sir.

I pull myself away from Kuribayashi whom seem to not really want to let go of my arm. I go over to the man on the bench and sit next to him.

Y/N: Chaos.

Chaos: Hm, haven't been called that in years. How have you been son?

Y/N: I've been doing okay.

Chaos: Who's the girl?

Y/N: She's one of my Japanese subordinates.

Chaos: She seems to be more than that.

Y/N: Let's stay on task sir.

Chaos: Alright then son.

Y/N: What do you know?

Chaos: All I can gather from my friends at the Pentagon is that there are "special players" in the game right now.

Y/N: They want the Special Region people don't they?

Chaos: Langley is playing dirty right now.

Chaos then pulls out two packages and presents them to me.

I start to leave when he stops me.

Chaos: One last thing, they gave your father an outstanding funeral and I was honored to attend son.

Y/N: Thank you General Mattis.

I leave him there and return to to Kuribayashi trying to hold back my emotion.

Kuribayashi: Are you alright Lieutenant?

Y/N: *sniffs* I'm fine Kuribayashi we should probably get Shinjuku.

Kuribayashi: Okay.

She linked arms with me again and we left together.

Time Skip Hotel Sankai

Y/N POV:

After meeting back up with Itami and the others we headed to the hotel. The scenery is nice, Itami and I noticed a drone when we entered our room. Someone keeping an eye on us hopefully it's the Japanese. We settle in and head to the baths it's me, Tomita, and Itami are the only men in the bath.

Itami: Phew. This is really nice

Tomita: It sure is.

Y/N: Yep.

Itami: And we're all alone.

After getting out of the bath we put on Japanese robes, Itami's on the ground rolling around like a kid

Suddenly there's a knock on the door.

GIRLS ROOM

Y/N POV:

After we were dragged into the girls room and we're drinking, eating, telling jokes, exchanging stories. I decide to bring out one of the gifts given to me by Mattis.

Y/N: I want to give you all something.

I put down a bottle of Jameson on the table.

Y/N: This is from the greatest Marine since Chesty Puller. And he sends his regards as well....I want to thank all of you.

Itami: For what?

Y/N: For allowing me the privilege of serving with you. And meeting these terrific people from a whole different world.

Itami: No man, we should be thanking you for all your support. You've stuck with us since this whole crazy thing began. If your dad was here he'd be proud right now

Y/N: Y-Yeah, he would be proud. You are all honored comrades and outstanding soldiers.

Kuribayashi: High praise coming from a US Marine! You must be drunk!

Y/N: We'll see about that.

Kuribayashi: You really think you can hold your liquor?

Y/N POV:

After several shots of whiskey and sake I stagger in the hallway returning from the bathroom and I start to think about my father how he would be proud if he were still alive. A door suddenly open a hand grabs me pulls me in and I stumble to the floor. Then a figure is sitting on my lap I can't see it until the moonlight reveals it to be Kuribayashi.

Y/N: What are you doing?

Kuribayashi: Hey Lieutenant, have I ever told you that you're really cute.~

Y/N: Kuribayashi, we shouldn't be doing this.

Kuribayshi: What's wrong? Don't like older girls?~

Y/N: Older? You've got two years on me I wouldn't call you older...But that's not the point, we can get in serious trouble Kuribayashi.

She leans down pressing her body against mine and starts kissing me the taste of liquor is strong on her tongue after ten seconds she breaks the kiss. I can see tears welling up in her eyes.

Kuribayashi: I'm so sorry.

Kuribayashi: I'm so sorry about your dad.

Y/N: How do you know about that?

Kuribayashi: I didn't mean to, but I overheard you talking to your mom last night. Your dad died you while you were fighting with us and you couldn't even attend his funeral. You could have gone home but you stayed with us. I saw that you were a mess and I wanted to comfort you.

Y/N: Wait, I don't want you to do this out of pity.

Kuribayashi: It's not out of pity! I-I-I really do like you Lieutenant!

Hearing that my heat skipped a beat and I didn't know what to say. She leans back up takes off her robe revealing her body to me. My face is burning red and I turn my head away she grabs my face and turns me toward her.

Kuribayashi: It's okay, just relax Lieutenant.

Y/N: F/N

Kuribayashi: What?

Y/N: That's my name, Shino are you sure about this?

She nods her head

Y/N: Okay.

Kuribayashi then leans down and starts kissing my neck and I let out some groans. She opens my robe revealing my arrow wound.

Kuribayashi: You got this protecting me, let me make it feel good.

She starts kissing it and then our eyes meet. She locks her lips with mine and I wrap my arms around her. I just wanted this moment to last forever. But suddenly a sound breaks the moment.

It's sound I am all to familiar with, my eyes widen as sound happens again

Then the sound happen several times as holes are appearing all over the room I roll Kuribayashi on to the floor to protect her.
