Tsurugi Kyousuke x Reader || The Only One Who Understands
What was I even thinking back then?
"Kyousuke!" I looked behind me to see her (E/C) eyes with burning passion.
"What do you want," I said with nothing but coldness. She was just some nuisance girl who I was able to save from some falling tree accident. Does she not have a life?
"I want to go with you," I was stunned to hear this. How did she knew this? I grabbed her by the collar of her shirt with a furious look.
"How did you even know I was joining!?" I growled. She furrowed her eyebrows in anger and kicked me by the stomach that caused me to drop her.
"Stop it all with those whining! I know why you're joining, it's because of Yuuichi-kun," I was left speechless.
"I want to help you afford his surgery," I grunted and just let her be.
Now, I suffer seeing her suffering in my place.
"You're lucky this brat didn't want you to suffer," one of them spat at me while I was banging at the screen of the window. I could almost hear her screams and cries despite having sound proof walls.
"Sh-shut up," I growled darkly. The man only laughed evilly before leaving me, unusually vulnerable.
It was my fault, I did not comply with the order. She was my partner in this mission. She was able to fulfill her role, yet I was not.
How weak was I to defy orders while she stood stoic and emotionless.
I had to wait two days before she was released to make her reflect on my mistakes.
To make me reflect on my mistakes.
When she was thrown away from the room, I manage to catch her.
"Dumb*ss, I was the one who was supposed to get the punishment," I fumed while carrying her carefully, not touching her wounds as much as possible. I heard her weak chuckle even when she was heavily injured.
"I-I...knew Yuuichi w-would question...you f-for these, I...have no family...s-so nobody c-cares...for me," she said in between heavy breathings. I hushed her.
"Stop talking, you're wasting your breath," I said as I tried my best to quicken my pace. I knew that every second that was passing by, her eyes were getting heavier and duller.
I could have swore I felt this already.
Panic.
Worry.
Frustration.
It was all too much. Why do I even care about her that much? She was not even related to me.
"Y-yet why...?" I asked myself quietly.
I was thankful to reach her room, it was an assurance that I remembered the code she told me whenever I needed her.
I got in the room and gently placed her on her bed. I knew she was keeping some first aid kit here.
"I think I saw it here last week," I mumbled to myself while rummaging through by the shelves. I was able to pull out the kit that I was trying to find. I opened it up and struggled to see all these. There were too much ointments and bandages, what were the needed materials to heal her up anyway?
This was supposed to be (Y/N)'s job. She usually patches me up whenever I get injured. Even if she was injured, she could handle herself.
I tried to remember what were those needed. There were a lot of cuts and bruises. I sighed and finally found the right ointment for the cuts. I wrapped her leg and arm in bandages that needed to be covered. Eventually and thankfully I was able to finish all of them, and it seems decent for somebody who does not know too much about these like (Y/N)
"I'm sorry that all these happened to you," I whispered to her, sitting on a chair that was next to her bed. I do not intend to leave her alone, I do not care if I feel fatigue overcoming my body.
It is the least I could do to pay her back for her sacrifice.
My eyes began to feel heavy, with one last look at (Y/N) angelic sleeping face, I was knocked out to see only nothing but darkness.
My sleep must have not last too long, my body felt really heavy as I was being shook lightly by a certain person.
'(Y/N)...!' I immediately thought as I quickly sat up and leaned to her to see if she was awake or not. I was surprised to see her smiling.
"You...actually cared," she said in a weak voice. I could feel that there was a slight joy in her voice. I burned up and looked away.
"It's only a payback (Y/N). You took my place so it's only right that I take care of you," I reasoned. I looked back at her to see her rolling her eyes. She tried to sit up from her laying position. She halted me before I had a chance to tell her off.
"You're a kind person but you're different when you're doing your missions, you don't have any relations with me or nii-san, why do you even want to help anyway,?" I asked. Her smile fell, even her shoulders slumped hearing my question.
"I just wanted to help you out with his surgery even if we aren't related. I could see how much your brother means to you-"
"-and never did I think twice in joining with you." she ended with a serious voice. My hands were curled up in fists, frustrated that these are all happening.
"It's because you saved me," I could feel a cool hand over my fist, she tried to soften it, making my hands open up. I unconsciously let them relax as she tried to grab for the other one.
"If you didn't save me, I wouldn't even be here in the first place," she said with a gentle smile. I could see tears forming in the corner of her beautiful (E/C) eyes.
"Please don't cry," I cautiously said. She laughed and shook her head in amusement.
"I remember how you're not good in handling crying girls huh," I huffed but she was right.
"You're the only one who understood me, (Y/N)."
"I'll always be by your side, Kyousuke."

This would act as the compensation of my continuous absent ( ; v ; ) I'd still add more though. I have been online numerous times to vote and comment a few books but I didn't have the time to write because after those, I immediately close the app and start studying ( v — v”).
