15 ~ Losing

Omg that picture tho.

Song: Dear Fellow Traveler by Sea Wolf
(The song doesn't even really match this chapter. Just listen to the words. Ir look up the lyrics instead.)

Someone was wondering why Dipper seemed so normal if he lost his humanity. I said it was difficult to explain. That question will be partly answered in this chapter.

Also, this chapter... People are gonna die! Lots of them. Buts that's okay because they were bad people...
But they used to summon Bill so they're okay and I like them.
But they gonna be dead.
T EY GO NA D E!!!

Oh yeah, and I was honestly shocked by how many people actually read the ANs.
Quite impressive, yes.
Here's your reward: angst (as requested by a commenter last chapter. You know who you are.)

And there is where the feels can be found:

Mabel stared out at the people gathered around them. One of them was saying something, but she was still dazed from the sudden teleportation, and couldn't make out what was being said.

Dipper was still above her, wings flared open. She could barely hear what he was saying.

"Did you kill. An innocent child." The demon seethed. "Just. To. Summon. Me? Do you know nothing?!"

"Alcor," said the person, or a woman, judging by voice, who Mabel assumed was the cult leader. "We are here to make a deal with you."

"I don't make deals." Alcor snapped. "Should have summoned Bill Cipher when you had the chance."

"Oh, and we used to." She said. "And ever since you brought about the Transcendence, and killed Cipher, we have been able to accomplish so much more. We are only here because of here."

Mabel felt sick. From the way Dipper was being silent, she could tell he felt the same way. Thinking back to what Ford had said, her brother already had a lot of weight on his shoulders.

But surely Ford had been wrong? Dipper destroying Piedmont, even being a feared, powerful demon of the new world... Killing their parents. It was all fake, right? It wasn't like he would have done it willingly anyways.

The only way to keep that secret would be if everyone knew and everyone was hiding the truth from her.

"Look." Alcor snarled. "I don't care why you're here. I don't care what you want. You killed a little girl for this!"

"Ah, but before you act, perhaps you would like to know what we're offering?" The leader said.

Alcor actually paused. For a moment, Mabel was scared he would actually listen to them.

"What is it then? Spit it out."

Mabel stared in open-mouthed shock when her brother actually offered to listen to these evil people. It was just a facade, just a facade.

"Anything." They said.

Alcor laughed. The dark sound echoed off the walls. "You don't offer a demon anything! How dumb are you? It's funny!"

"I will offer again. We give you anything, but you have to do something for us."

"Geez, bet you can't be any more specific than that!" Alcor said.

The cultist leader shifted. Mabel could tell that she was frowning heavily underneath the heavy hood. She wasn't the only one, a few of the others seemed to be panicking.

The more the cultists became nervous and unsure, the more confident Dipper seemed to get. Which was when she realized: He was just playing with them. Working them into a spot that they couldn't get out of.

Mabel started to sit up. Maybe she could talk to Dipper and they could figure something out. The Mystery Twins, right? They always worked together!

Unfortunately, the cultist leader also noticed her moving, and made a strange motion. Mabel was confused for a second, until hands grabbed her from behind and yanked her out of the circle.

Alcor spun around and tried to catch her, but the edge of the circle stopped him. He couldn't pass it. Instead, he claws seemed to dig into it. Purple and black sparks butts forth, but the barrier held.

"How about now, demon?" The cultist leader said smugly. "This girl seems important to you, what if you had to make a deal to save her?"

Alcor only snarled at them.

Someone held a knife over Mabel's stomach. She couldn't hold in the little whimper that escaped her. The knife wasn't even touching her, but the very thought that they could--no, think positive. Mabel Pines was always positive.

"Let me out!" Dipper said, an edge of panic in his voice. "What do you want just leave her alone!"

"Ah, see? Even demons can be cooperative eventually." Said the woman. "The terms of the deal are as follows: You take whatever you need, and all we ask for in return is a single act of whatever we want."

Alcor frowned. "Why would I do that?"

"So that she doesn't die." Said the woman, motioning to Mabel, who still stood trapped behind a knife.

Alcor seemed to think about it for a few seconds. He glanced back at Mabel, and she mouthed 'no' to him. It obviously wouldn't work either way.

"Fine. But you have to let me out of this stupid circle of the deal will work."

"I don't remember ever having to do that with Bill," the cultist leader said, "you're lying."

"Bill isn't around anymore, don't you get it?" Alcor hissed. "Things change. Things end."

The woman shifted, like she was nervous, but she quickly regained her composure and nodded. A few people broke the summoning circle, scratching out the lines.

Before the barrier had time to actually fall down, Alcor jumped right through it. The rest of it shattered.

"Oh, you humans are so stupid sometimes!" The demon laughed. "I can't believe that you fell for that little lie!"

"What? No! We had a deal!"

"Ah ah ah," Alcor tutted, shaking a hand, "we never shook on it!"

The cultist leader stepped back. "We can still make a deal. It isn't too late. You can have anything you want! We won't ask for anything! Just set us free! Please!"

"Hmm, alright then!" Alcor said, holding out a blue flames hand. "Sounds fair! It's a deal!"

The cultist leader stepped forward, shaking the demons hand. The blue fire flickered up her arm, and she tried to pull back. Alcor didn't let her go.

"What are you doing?" She cried out. "Let me go! We had a deal!"

"I thought that I could have anything I wanted." The demon hissed, tilting his head. "That's what you said."

"But if you released us! You have to let us go! Let us live!"

"You never said anything about letting you live." Alcor laughed. "Maybe you should study up more on demons before going around and summoning them!"

"Release me at once, you demon!" She screamed, clawing at his hand. The blue fire flickered out.

"Oh, but I am." The demon said, eyes flashing gold as he lunged forward. "Killing you will release you from this world. Eating your soul will erase you from the universe!"

(A.N. I have no regrets for this. Oh gosh I take that back I'm so sorry for this next part. Also, don't you feel bad for Mabel, who has to watch/listen to all of this?)

(Lol. JK! The next part is the best part!)

The woman shrieked as the demon sank his teeth into her shoulder. His claws cut her windpipe, and she eventually fell silent after a few seconds of struggling to breath.

Mabel stared in terror. The people who had been holding her dropped the knife and ran to the nearest exit. The doors wouldn't open. Mabel felt her legs give out and she scrambled back into the nearest corner, curling up and putting her hands over her ears.

Oh gosh, she couldn't look, she just couldn't. The sounds were hardly deafened by her hands. She screwed her eyes shut. It wasn't working. Her stupid imagination was filling everything in for her. She tried desperately not to whimper.

It was so terrible, too terrible. Why was she there, what had led to something so terrible happening? What if this was how it had all started at Piedmont?

Dipper wouldn't hurt her. He wouldn't. They were the Mystery Twins. She would be fine.

They were Alcor and Mizar, two stars of the same constellation, and neither could exist without the other. She would be fine, Dipper would stop as soon as he realized what he was doing.

Right?

She opened her eyes a little, slamming them shut as soon as saw everything. Too much blood. Too many terrified people. Too much of something that had once been her brother.

Maybe she shouldn't have summoned Alcor back. It probably would have helped if she had cared to remember everything said about demons. She should have listened better. Because turns out, it didn't matter if you were related them them.

Then again... Hadn't Dipper been protecting her by doing this? Mabel cut that thought off as soon as possible. She couldn't stand the thought that someone would cause all of this simply for her. She wasn't worth it. Even if the cultists had been evil or whatever, no one deserved what was happening to them at the moment.

Suddenly, someone yanked her off the wall. She was slammed to the ground, something sharp pressed against her chest. Opening her eyes with a gasp, she saw one of the people standing above her. They held the knife that had fallen to ground earlier.

Their hood was also down. The boy, because he actually appeared the same age as her, he had brown hair and one brown eye. The other eye was swollen shut, and a trickle of blood leaked from both corners of her mouth.

Terrified, she tried to scoot back, out of range, only to realize that he was holding her there.

"That demon killed my parents!" The boy screamed. "They were here, and he killed them! For you! Why should you be so special!"

She tried to say something, but her mouth couldn't form any words. Tears dripped down Mabel's cheeks. She was going to die. She was going to die.

"I have two little sisters!" He continued to scream. "What are we supposed to do!? This is your fault!"

He raised the knife. It's edge glinted red in the poorly lit room. Mabel held her breath as the knife stared to come down after a moments hesitation.

Suddenly, something wrapped around the boys midsection and yanked him back, off of Mabel.

She felt something. Something didn't feel right. There was something off with her.

The teenager slid across the floor, falling over. He didn't have the knife, Mabel thought he must have dropped it. The boy looked up at the demon standing above him.

His brown eyes met the blazing gold ones and pleaded for life. Alcor bared his now red teeth and snarled. The kid took the hint and bolted away, looking back at Mabel before opening the unlocked doors and fleeing from view.

Suddenly, a wave of dizziness hit Mabel. Looking down, she realized why the boy hadn't had the knife. Why he had looked back at her before running away. Why her brother was floating there in shock.

There was a knife sticking out of her stomach.

That was when the pain finally hit her. Mabel lost her breath. It felt like someone was trying to kill her. On second thought, that's exactly what they had been doing.

She glanced at her hands. Covered in blood. Was it from the floor, or from herself? What about the rest of the blood on the floor? How much of it was her's at this point?

Someone lifted her head onto their lap. She looked up after a drop of gold landed on her arm. Dipper was holding her, tears filling his black and gold eyes. His hand held the side of her head.

"No, Mabel." He said. "No, this wasn't supposed to happen. Not you. Not yet. I just got back."

"I'll be fine, buttwings." She said, failing to give a reassuring smile. "I'll get better. Always have, always will."

"But Mabel--"

"Dipper, I'm serious."

He smiled sadly. "Why do you keep calming me that?"

"It's your name, doofus." She retorted. "You're still my brother you know."

"I don't know, Mabel." Dipper said. "Sometimes I don't think I am anymore."

"Ha." She said, poking him on the nose. "You're so stupid. Now, let's get home so I can get all better!"

Dipper hugged her closer, as if reassuring himself that she was still there. She smiled up at him, even though he wasn't looking. Mabel couldn't remember how she made it an entire year without him.

The world stared to spin, but she was sure that it wasn't because they were teleporting. The edges of her vision were going dark. Everything was loosing color.

"You better get me home, bro-bro, don't want to make Stan and Ford too angry." She said faintly. Or maybe she hadn't said it. She didn't know.

"Mabel?" Alcor said, giving her a little shake. "Mizar! Stay awake!"

The last think Mabel saw before she lost consciousness was a black sheep with red eyes. But she was probably just hallucinating. Everything spun away with a sickening lurch.

So... You guys hate me now, right?

And you're screaming at me right now.

Probably crying.

I enjoy your pain.

Which is why I'm not going to tell you if Mabel dies or not.

I mean... Technically...
She does end up******************

Well darn it. Now you have to wait to find out.
But if you've read anything from the Transcendence AU that is canon for that AU, you probably know a lot more than any other people.

And you better not say anything in the comments that could give anyone else any ideas.

So, until next time!
