Woojin spit on the floor once he saw the yellow KIA of his mum parked in front of the school gates. He ruffled his dark brown hair and looked at Jihoon, as Jinyoung was in his afterschool activities; the archery club. "She's picking me up," Woojin exclaimed and nodded towards the car. "That's nice of her?" Jihoon asked carefully, trying not to drop his books on the floor. Woojin watched him juggling the books in his hands. "She probably just wants to talk about our fight this morning. She normally has one of her coffee dates with my Aunt after school finishes." He told Jihoon who only nodded. Woojin sighed. "Yeah, go on and go home. You seem busy anyways, Jihoon." Woojin then lets out and Jihoon rolled his eyes.
"It's not like that, Woojin and you know it," Jihoon explained before simply nodding and rushing off to the bus station to get to his part-time job. Woojin looked back to the colorful car. His mother was enthusiastically waving towards him and Woojin simply scratched his nape and wanted to walk towards the car, when someone accidentally pushed him.
"Ya!" He yelled and rolled his eyes once he saw who it was. "Gong Minjae this is the third time you made me annoyed today and it's only the first day of school. Are you planning to ruin my mood completely?" He sighed and ignored his mother for a second. Minjae looked at him and sighed. "I'm sorry?" She wheezed and continued to look away from him. He rolled his eyes. "Why is everyone so busy today?" He asked no one in particular and ruffled his hair. "No one has time to talk to me for a single minute." He sighed and Minjae looked at him.
"Do you-" She started but stopped talking when he glared at her. "Okay, okay!" She threw her arms in the air and gave Woojin a soft smile. "Goodbye Woojin. I hope you and your friends soon feel welcome in our class." Minjae patted his shoulder and then continued to run out of the school gates. Confused Woojin started walking to his mother's car.
He opened the passenger seat and climbed into the car, where his mother gave him a soft kiss on the cheek. "How was the first day in your new class?" Mrs. Park, immediatley asked but Woojin only looked out of the window. His mother sighed. "Woojin, you need to learn to talk to me." She said and he looked at her. "I know you're angry with Dad for sleeping with some cheap woman but it's not my fault that I still love him!" He yelled and climbed back out of the car and slammed the door shut.
While he heard his mother calling him, he continued to walk straight to the metro station where he met Gong Minjae that was secretly taking selcas in front of an APink commercial. He sighed, a little too loud as Minjae heard him and looked up. She walked up to him and tilted her head like a young puppy.
"It seems like you have a bad day, Woojin."
"It's Park Woojin for you."
"Whatever," Minjae said and gently pushed Woojin who seemed even more annoyed by his classmate. "What are you doing?" - "Trying to cheer you up!" She said honestly and Woojin scrunched up his nose. "Would you like a Boba?" She asked and Woojin sighed. "Why would I want to drink Bubble Tea with you?" He asked and Minjae shook her shoulders. "Don't know. You seem to be in need of some cheering up and as your friends aren't here I decided why not ask you?"
"I don't want to," Woojin said and stepped towards the glass doors of the Metro when the typical Jingle started to play. Minjae followed him and as soon as the metro drove into the station the two teenagers got on. "Can you stop following me?" Woojin asked and went to sit down. Minjae sighed and decided to stay away from him. Too much of her good vibes could actually turn people quite aggressive. She knew this from Choa and from her mother.
If Minjae was in a good mood for too much she became unbearable to the people around her and she could sense it if people were annoyed with her. And Park Woojin was really annoyed with her now. She didn't leave him in peace for a single minute this whole day and now she felt sorry. He wasn't in a good mood and yet she was here forcing him to have a conversation with him.
"Sorry." She mouthed towards him, even though he already had his earbuds in and wasn't even looking at her direction. She pouted and exited the train at the next station, just to give Woojin a little more space. She sighed and waited for the next train that would go into that direction when her phone buzzed with a call. She answered it and smiled slightly when she heard her Mothers voice.
"Hello, Mum!" Minjae greeted her and her mother told her she was currently in a coffee shop in Gangnam and if she wanted to come by. "I'm sorry, Mum. I wanted to head to the COEX Library and read some scripts." Minjae told her mother and Mrs. Gong only nodded. "Don't come home too late though." Her mother asked her and Minjae agreed when the next train was entering the station and she entered it.
Woojin wondered where Minjae went when he looked up after they passed a few more stations. "Did she already went off?" He asked himself when he had to leave at his station. But he soon forgot the thought and started walking home, where the car of his mother was already parked on the sidewalk.
With a sigh he entered the apartment complex he lived in and went into his and his mothers flat. As soon as he had entered the living room his mother had come out of nowhere and had slapped his cheek so hard, he fell backward on the wooden floor with tears stinging at his eyes.
"How dare you behave like that, Park Woojin!" His mother called and Woojin scrambled up to his feet and ran into his bedroom, locking the door, while his furious mother was calling him names and compared him to his unloyal father. Woojin went under his bed and held his ears to ignore the toxic words his mother was saying.
He absolutely hated his life.
