some unhappy people

are determined to force

their depressing moods

full upon us

unintentionally

we prepare our minds

to withstand .. negative assaults

unnecessary hassles

simply to continue

being ourselves

we refuse to sacrifice

our happiness .. contentment

no one wishes to be the heavy

it's unfortunate some people's lives

are completely frustrating

every single day is new .. beautiful

until someone complains

towards our direction

smothering attempts

to drag us into quicksand

undaunted .. people's miseries exist

eye to eye .. pretending we're listening

escape .. fast as we can

on occasion .. a walk

in sunshine or rain .. will do

self preservation
