Majors' Mansion in Washington, D.C
Melanie Majors stood in her room-like store as she boxed her last shipments for the day before her family got ready to leave for South Korea. Her dad Nathaniel Majors was the owner of Major's Industries, where they built spaceships and missiles. They were also into doing things for the planet, as they wanted to protect the green of the land. Her father worked with Nasa and the US government, making billions off of them. Which he in turn used to help the homeless and build houses for the foster children that needed homes. Her dad didn't trust CPS or anyone. He believed children were our future and that we needed to treat them as such. He even made an academy where the best teachers taught the children skills that they would need for the real world.
Boxing and taping each shipment before moving them to the waiting truck that was there to drop off the packages at the post office. Yes, she did everything herself. Her mother will take over while she was at school in Korea. Melanie wanted to open up plenty of stores around the world, but for right now she will continue to grow it from home. Her father had told her that he was meeting with important investors in South Korea so he could grow his business even more there. Oh, how she would miss her friends. After smiling to the sweet guy that took the orders away, she went back inside as her wedges clicked on the pavement into the beautifully made house.
Her father had lived in Jacksonville, Florida, before meeting her mother, and they got married in St. Augustine. Two months after her mother was pregnant with her, Majors Industries was also in the works of growing. They had moved to California, where she was born, before moving to Washington when the president himself gave him a job. And that's when Majors Industries was born. Melanie was proud of her dad and decided to walk in his footsteps. She became the CEO of Milan's jewelry and skincare. She made custom jewelry while making different skin care products. She also had celebrity clients that promoted her brand. She made customs for Nicki Minaj, Megan Thee Stallion, Cardi B, Migos, Beyonce, etc. She even mailed a few to South Korea. Melanie's thoughts were cut off by her phone ringing.
Melanie leaned over to see her best friend Courtney calling her. She picked up the phone, answering it.
"Hey Bitch, how are you?!" Courtney says happily as Melanie laughs walking upstairs, passing her mother that pointed at her watch to hurry up. Soon they will have to go. She nodded before walking to her room.
"I'm good; I just finished up the orders. I have to finish packing." Melanie said, walking in her room, closing the door. Her room was all ready to box up; she just had to box up her store side.
"I can't believe you're leaving for South Korea." Courtney sadly said with a sigh. She was going to miss her friend.
"I know right, but dad said just for this semester. I'm going to a new school and all. Dad said I'd have to change my wardrobe and everything. It's a uniform school; can you believe that?" Melanie stated as she finished packing.
"Really, damn, that's crazy. Well, at least you get to meet more boys." Courtney comments.
"Oh, please, no one will be able to keep up with me. And especially, I don't do any relationships, you know that." Melanie finished packing before changing her shoes into some sneakers.
"Yeah, Yeah. We know." Courtney sings playfully, but Melanie knew she was rolling her eyes at her.
"But even if you did find someone or many due to your flings, how do you expect to find true love?" Courtney asked.
"With myself, of course. C, you know you have to love yourself before trying to give it to someone else. I'm still trying to be one by myself and learn about myself first." Melanie sat on her desk.
"I understand. So do you want me and the girls to come and wish you luck?" Courtney asked.
"Yes, come over; we have to start moving our belongings to the pods." Melanie jumped down off her desk before making sure she had everything.

Melanie stood in the driveway as her friend rode up playing 'Wannabe by Glorilla and Megan Thee Stallion, causing most of the movers and her mother to look at them. Jackie motioned for the movers to keep going as she heard the car door opening as her daughter's friends screamed as they rushed to hug her daughter. Jackie smiled softly at her daughter, happy she had such great friends. The girls pulled back from her daughter. Jackie continued what she was doing.
"I'm going to miss you guys so much!" Melanie says with a large smile.
"We are going to miss you too. Why does it have to be out of the country?" Jasmine asked sadly.
"You guys can easily come visit me, once I get settled." Melanie answered as she rubbed her friend's hand.
"Oh, believe me. We are going. I know my father can get us passports." Courtney said making the girls laugh.
Courtney's dad worked with Melanie's father as an engineer. Her parents were both breadwinners in her household. All Courtney had to do was get her education, hang out with friends, and enjoy being a teenager.
"Just let us know and we will be there, or just call us." Alicia told her, causing Melanie to smile.
Harper, her introverted friend, hugged her arm as Melanie laid her head on hers.
Melanie nodded before her dad's car pulled in. Getting out, he spoke to Melanie.
"Melanie, time to go. We need to leave." Nathaniel told his daughter before waving to the girls.
"Okay, dad." She hugged her friends again as they kissed each cheek before she headed towards the car. Her other friends went to the car as they watched, waving of the beautiful family leaving to enter a new society. Melanie could only hope this school doesn't piss her off.
