There are many kinds of scars, but right now I'm only going to talk about 2 types: the intentional ones, and the accidental ones. I think they are pretty self explanatory.

The accidental ones are when you mess up. They're memories. They teach you things. There's always a nice story behind them.

I have a scar on my right knee. That one's from when I was maybe 8 or 9. I fell off my bike because I was going too fast with my cousins. I hurt like hell, but hey, I was having fun.

I have another scar under my chin. I got it when I was swimming and I did something real fucking stupid. But I at least learned not to do it again!

Now, intentional scars are a whole other story.

These are the scars you purposely do to yourself.

I mean when you cut.

These scars are not 'pretty', or 'poetic'.
These scars shouldn't be there. You don't learn from them. They remind you of horrible moments.

My advice? Enjoy those accidental scars. Embrace them. And avoid those that are intentional. They're not worth it.
