CHAPTER 9

DISCOVERY

"She must be Lord Heathly's personal food container."

"Too bad tonight's her last night."

I gulped hearing their words standing alone in the corner of the hall. There was quite a big crowd of vampires starting to gather, 75% R-vampires and 25% from the U-clan... and 0.00000001% for humans.

I grip on the hem of the dress Leo got me feeling sad. Just end this day quickly so I'll forget everything as soon as I can!

"Lord Heathly and Lady von Klein have arrived!" The announcer happily repeated twice as everyone grew silent. I was then able to name the members of the vampiric council present, Leo's mother (2nd), Von Klein family (3rd), Peterson family (4th), Vlad (1st) and the high families from the U-clan but no sign of the queen. Applauds began as Leo and Jane entered the premises with their arms linked together. Leo on a black suit and Jane on a pretty and sparkly wedding dress.

'It does hurt a lot...'

I grip on my chest feeling the pain engulf me tightly.

They reach the staircase giving me the cue to approach them so the ceremony could begin and end before the actual wedding takes place.

"Poor girl." Everyone whispered with a grin on their Vampire faces off their masks.

There could only be two outcomes: I successfully forget and live peacefully as a human with altered memories OR die out of blood loss because they would feast on me once the contract's been cut.

"She looks delicious." That sent goosebumps in me.

I reach the front and Leo's eyes were melting my whole body on the spot with what happened last night. Lady Jane von Klein must've known it already as she was displaying a proud grin on her face with sheds of disgust.

"Selene Carmen, thank you for all the services you have given me for the past 18 years of my existence. It is now the time to cut all ties as I have found the person to be with me for the rest of my existence."

It was truly heartbreaking but it has to happen.

I close my eyes preparing myself as Leo stood close to remove all my memories. Yes, Only the master can take the servant's memories off. I felt this mental force start piercing my mind.

Slowly, all the memories I have with Leo rewind. Everything played from the day we met each other, to his first bite on my skin, to our friendship, to me realising I was already madly in love with him, until last night.

I know a tear fell from my eyes.

Goodbye to all my memories...

The force disappeared swiftly as I heard Leo say "Why can't I..." I open my eyes and he was wide-eyed on his hands. Jane approaches us. "You did everything right Leo? She must have forgotten already." She then grabs my shoulders shaking me. "Human, do you know me? Do you know us?"

I flinch backwards regaining my composure. "I... I didn't forget anything. Why..."

Whisperings occur everywhere. "It couldn't be."

"There has not even been one mishap removing a human's memories before!"

"Lord Heathly must have done the ritual wrong!"

I was shivering with their words. Could they be right? But Leo wouldn't tolerate for such a mistake to even happen!

"That is because she isn't human!" We all look back and the vampires nearest to the door started kneeling and when the view started to get clear, I was now sure that the Queen was the one arriving.

"What do you mean she isn't human, my Queen?!" Jane shouted petrified as Queen Thana approached us.

"Selene Carmen is after all... Not human."
