CHAPTER 30

SLOWLY

I sat on the porch watching all the flower petals fly around the two most important vampires of my life.

"How is he doing as a daddy?" Thana sits beside me as her eyes were also darted to Leo carrying Selene Adrasteia.

"He's doing great. It's been just 24 hours but Ady is obviously growing little by little."

[A/N: Ady is Adresteia's nickname]

Thana laughs at my words. "We are vampires sis and a royalty, therefore, an infant's growth span is faster than an ordinary human. Funny hey?"

"Yeah." I chuckled.

"And how is he taking the last few hours?"

I shook my head. "He's still debating about it but I'm trying my best for him to understand my intentions and I know... One day in the future... He would understand... That as a parent, the child's future is the greatest thing I want to protect."

Thana links her arm to mine and tilted her head on my shoulder. "I'm really sorry that you have to go through all these hardships sis. If I can just transfer even the whole pain into me I would..."

"Thana... It's not your fault and never would it be. I know that you know that the only way to save everyone is to do this... And I know that once I fall into a deep sleep... You intend to continue the search right?" I felt her nodding in agreement.

"There are just so many unanswered things... Who really killed our parents centuries ago and why? Why our parents never left a clue or hint that this kind of things would happen? Why you have to be the only one to carry the burden of so many vampires and humans though we're sisters."

"Stop it Thana. Remember that everything happens for a great reason... It's not just me who carried the burden... you did too... Especially the years that I was in my human state and you were the rulers... I'm giving you the throne back soon because I know deep down Leo will refuse to. It's better to have everything planned right?"

"Sis..."

"Mm?"

"I love you so much!" She squeezes me tighter.

"I love you too little sis." I replayed the hug with the same intensity.

I'm going to miss you Thana Ambrogio so much...

"Aren't you two getting sweet?" We were both surprised to see Leo smiling at us with Adrasteia napping.

"Jealous much Duke Heathly?" Thana smirked sarcastically.

"Why would I? She's mine. She's married to me. So why would you think I'm jealous?"

"Yeah right... Not jealous but very possessive? Haha!" Thana and I laughed then Thana stood up and got Adrasteia from Leo. "I know you two want some privacy and time alone so I'm taking my niece now."

I smiled bitterly and stood up kissing my daughter's forehead.

"I love you Selene Adrasteia. I'm sorry mommy won't be always physically beside you but I promise you I'll watch over you, your daddy and everyone. So be a good girl okay? I know we will meet someday so hang in there ok?"

I'm going to miss you baby Selene Adrasteia Ambrogio-Heathly.

I felt Leo's hands pat my shoulders as I kissed my baby one last time.

You read that right.

I'm going to sleep for a long time tonight... No extensions.

Time ticks too fast so the spell needs to work immediately meaning all my powers disappeared and I would soon die... For a second time.

I will be kept hidden and in a deep slumber until the rightful person calls me and I hand him or her the very last of my powers to beat whoever is behind all this charade.

I promise...

They won't succeed.

I won't let the existence of both human and vampire race to simply fall down. I will make sure that my sacrifice is worth it until all questions are answered about the past, present and future.

"Take care of her and everyone ok Thana?"

"Of course, sis."

"Sorry for making you carry the burden again."

"No. You said it yourself... Everything happens for a reason. I guess I was meant to be the queen or something?" She laughed sadly. "I promise you, sis. I will take care of Ady and the whole kingdom while you're away... Don't sleep too long alright? I'll see you soon." I gave her a hug together with my daughter and kissed both of them on their cheeks.

I watch painfully as Thana walks away carrying Ady. It's really heart wrecking that I won't be seeing how she grows up but knowing Leo... He would make her grow up better than what I always anticipated.

I trust Leo and Thana more than anyone and I know Leo would spoil Adresteia a little and take care of her perfectly.

I suddenly felt lips on the nape of my neck and hands travelling to my body. "Leo..." A moan escaped as I turned around and replied the same intensity of his kiss.

"Come on... I have a lot of surprises to you..." He said breaking the lips contact and kissing my forehead.

"Alright." I smiled.

He links our hands together and we started walking to wherever he is taking me.

I'm going to miss you Leo Heathly.

This is how I will remember everything...
