SECRETS

"She must be exhausted from the journey Lord Heathly. Why don't you eat supper while we wait for her to come around." Who was that? The voice seems familiar...

"No, it's fine. I will wait for her. Thank you for the offer Sir Whei."

"Alright. I will be in my house. You can wander in the area but do not disturb the sleep of my people."

"Thank you, sir."

I heard the door closes and slowly the open my eyes. It was dark and I know my eyes were brightening up making me see Leo's face clearly with his scarlet eyes. "Selene?" I got up and he started caressing my cheeks.

"Hey."

"You alright?" He hands me a glass of water which soothe my dry throat.

"I'm alright. Must be with pregnancy stress." He smirked and held on my womb. I saw that he had no shirt on and I could see his whole body.

"Like the view?" He smirked at me and bit his lower lips sexily. "Don't worry... I wouldn't stop you."

"What a mess. I collapse during the introduction." I chuckled at myself ignoring his push.

"Don't stress it, babe. They do know that you're pregnant already... And Sir Whei has talked of it to his people... Everyone understands the situation clearly."

"Ok. That's a relief." I smiled at him and noticed something that has been catching my eyes for a long while now. "Leo when was the last time you drink blood?"

He laughed at my serious question. "Was there something funny in it?"

"No-no. I was laughing at myself for pretending you wouldn't notice but I still fail in it."

"So when was the last time you did?"

"Two days before my birthday." My jaw drop. "You are seriously lying Leo. You can't be serious! Have you tried the blood tablets and the--"

"Selene!" I abruptly stopped speaking as he called me. "That's the deal. I tried other methods of drinking blood but..."

"But what?"

"I couldn't drink them. It's as if my fangs yearn for your skin and my throat seeks your blood but I can't because I'm not your master and I don't want to hurt you or the baby."

"That's why you ask for four bodyguards, right?" He smiled shaking his head. I pulled him to sit beside me and I sat on his lap unbuttoning my shirt.

"What are you doing Selene? Are you tempting me? Because it is working." He smirked.

"Leo, law states that a royal vampire can voluntarily give blood to vampires they trust even if they die and I know you have great control when drinking blood... Well partly... So drink my blood, Leo." I take my blouse off exposing my bare skin with only my bra on top.

"I can't. It's still wrong." He hugs me tightly making me unable to see his face.

"Leo... You've seen my everything and you've become my everything so I won't let you thirst when I'm doing it voluntarily. Besides, I want you to always be with me healthy. Ok? So drink or I'll force you."

I felt him sigh on my skin and slowly I felt his lips kissing and licking my neck. In another second, the fangs I knew was piercing my skin and his throat started gulping. His hands move delicately on my back sending shivers of pleasure to me.

"Thank you, babe." He closes the bite marks.

The days have passed letting me discover a lot of things. The U-clan vampires are the typical vampires that humans know of, afraid of the sunlight, beautiful creatures, who changed their lives and their fate. They don't crave for human blood anymore as they live with feasting on animals and manipulating human minds who dare enter or pass their land by making them return home.

The time for me to depart arrive in preparation for my coronation. Leo escorted me to the gates before I turn to the vampires who assembled themselves to see my party go.

"Thank you for your welcome and acceptance vampires of Urania. I will do everything in my power.to make sure of everyone's safety and be able to walk into the world everyone has fairly shared before. We will make all clans receive each one as brothers and sisters. I will send the invitations to everyone for the coronation day as I am warmly welcoming everyone to see a first day of ruling under my care. Please take care of me, everyone!" I bowed and heard their applause pleasing my nervousness. Am I really up to the challenge to be a queen and mother? Will I be a good ruler to the clans?

We headed straight back to the palace, I would surely want to visit Urania often in the future.

"You ok?" Leo asks sitting on the passenger's seat like before. "Yup. Never been better."

I lean my back and stroke my womb closing my eyes.

It was dark and blood was on the ground... Scratch that. Blood filled all sides and corners of the ground. A sword in the middle and a man standing beside it. "Who are you?!" But I slowly had the feeling I asked the wrong question. The man slowly turned around and I clenched my fists with fear seeing that it was the grinning man haunting me in my sleep.

"What a question Princess Selene. But then again... You don't know me... Yet.To think that you wish to rule all clans when you haven't regained all your powers? How pathetic!"

"What did you just say?! You do not know me!" I screamed metres away from him. "Oh? Yes, I do know you, Princess. Everything about you is in this." He points his index finger to his forehead. "Even the darkest questions... The secrets... I know them all."

"Who are you?!" He continued grinning pulling the sword and throwing it to me, barely scratching me. He pulls another sword from the bloody ground pointing towards me. "Pick up the sword Princess." I kneeled and took the sword. It was heavy and there was a weird feeling I had with one touch. It was heavy not of steel but of... What is it? I can't pinpoint what I feel it lacks.

"Ready when you are, your majesty." I breathe out hearing his mockery. I grip tight of the sword in the stance I was taught when I was young. He did the exact same stance which is starting to piss me off. In a flick, I charged to him dancing with every stroke of the sword but he dodges them as if he could see through my every move. The bloody ground started scheming in our clothes.

"Tell me your majesty, is that how you're supposed to hold that sword?"

"What?!" He suddenly started attacking me pushing me making me only use the sword as a shield. What is he saying?! I don't get it!

"Why do you fight Princess? Why do you wield the sword? Tell me. What's the reason you want to fight? What's the reason you want to carry the sword? Is it for your family? Your people?" My sword flew behind me scratching my hands making me kneel to the bloody ground. The man points the sword directly at my face.

"Tell me." His words echoed repeatedly.

'Why do I want to do this? What do I want to do?' I look straight at him and it wasn't intimidation in his eyes but it was very different. What was it? No. I should also focus on the real deal... Why does he haunt me? Why is he asking me all these questions? What is he trying to say?

"Selene?! Selene?!" My eyes flinch and saw Leo's face worriedly close to mine. "You awake babe?" He assisted me to get up and realise I was back into my room in the palace.

"What? When did I...?"

"You've been out for three days. You suddenly collapsed in the car on our way here... Is something wrong?" He kisses both my hands.

"No Leo... I... There's nothing wrong." I smiled fakely. I suddenly heard running footsteps outside my room.

The door opens and I saw Thana running towards me. "Selene!!!" She jumps to me making the bed bounce. "I thought you won't wake up! You had everyone worried! Especially with the coronation in two days. What happened to you, sis?"

"Ah..." Do I tell her? "I think I just got too stressed and pressured but I'm okay." I smiled hugging her. I then touch my womb and the small bump is a bit appearing. "What time is it?"

"Seven in the evening. Want to eat something?" Leo replied helping me up.

"Yep. Three days worth of food I think." We chuckled.

"Okay. I'll have the maids prepare them. See you in a bit." I nodded as he walks off. Thana pulls my arm silently. "I need to talk to you sis."

"You saw a vision, didn't you?" She looked at all sides and nods.

"Someone is after you and my future niece. Someone filled with hatred over our family." I went still hearing the middle part. "Selene? Did I shock you too much?"

"No. no. no. It's just... You said future niece, right? I'm having a girl?"

She chuckled. "Sis, I can't believe that right after I just said that some people are after you, you still have the urge to change the topic? Yes, you are having a girl. The next possible Selene."

My expression turned sour after the happy moment. "The people after me are the people who murdered our parents. I know it for a fact since I carry the blood of our goddess."

"You could be right since they will not be coming after me since I'm just a royalty with mom and dad's blood with only seeing visions and dreams as my power." She sighed. I clench her into my body, hugging her tightly.

"That's not true. You have the skill to calm anybody's heart and your voice can soothe anyone not as a vampire but as you. I envied that since we were young... Being able to make our parents ominously proud even though you were so young back then and being a great ruler while I was unaware of my own self. You remained humble even though the fact that you could keep the throne for yourself and not let me remember the promise. You worked harder than me who bear Goddess Selene's blood. You've proven so much worth in every vampire's heart and that makes me very proud to be your sister who is still starting from scratch. So will you help me make all clans be in their best shape and give me guidance... Thana?" I felt her hands wrap around me in the same tight manner burying her face in my chest.

"Of course. I can't have my sister play around the kingdom without me and not let me watch my niece grow up." She giggled.

"Thanks, Thana."

"Thanks, sister Selene"

"Why are we getting emotional here for?" We turned and saw Leo approaching us with a puzzled look. "You ladies are taking time and the food will run cold."

"Sorry, Leo. I was just having a sweet time with my sister because you'll bug her on your wedding night." I literally blush hearing her jokes and she pulls herself near my ear.

"Don't tell him about the gender of the baby or the fact that someone's after you. I'll handle everything. Ok?" She whispered.

"Thank you."

"What's the whispering about now?"

"I was just telling my sister about the gown she's wearing on the coronation and the wedding and stuff like that." Thana laughs as we walk around. 

"Really?" Leo eyed me as he links my arms into his. 

"Yep. My sister is correct." I went with her lie. But what honestly gives with her saying.

The next day, a cleansing ceremony occurred but too bad I wasn't pure anymore. Duh! I'm pregnant. I have to do different rituals and the day ended with me left alone in an empty room. I feel like a prison in a cube but all royals pass this stage the night before the coronation. It's like meditation. I need to get everything straight and make myself relaxed and calmed.

What do I want to do? Why do I want to rule?

There are so many questions in my head but these two overlap every question there is.

I lay myself to lean on the wall listening to my heart beating weirdly after all... I am still a mixture of vampire and human side.

I close my eyes still with the dangling questions.

Knocking suddenly made my body flinch and see Thana in a formal gown enter the room. "Good morning sis" She greeted.

"It's morning already."

"Ah... yeah? Today's your coronation day sis. Everything is ready apart from you." She chuckled. She offered me her hand and helped me get on my feet. Thana's face suddenly turned pale.

"Thana?" She suddenly budged meaning I cut all her sudden flow of thoughts. "Something wrong?"

"N-no." She stuttered. "Now let's go polish you up." She links her arms on me and we headed to my bedroom.
