Third Seizure

I want to remind you that there will NOT be trigger warnings every time Travis suffers from a seizure. I will warn you this time because it's the first seizure written in this story and it might be overwhelming to some. However, there will most likely be a lot of them and sometimes at times that shouldn't be spoiled from the beginning of the chapter. So if this does trigger you, do NOT continue reading this story, I don't want you to feel uncomfortable in any way. Seizures are a real life problem and for some they are even natural, it can happen to people you might know. Keep that in mind before you comment anything. Thanks ❤️

Disclaimer: Im mentioning in my story how it helps Travis to put pressure on his head when he's having a seizure. THIS IS FICTIONAL! Anything mentioned in this book on how to handle a seizure isn't completely correct. It's for the shake of the story I have created certain ways for Travis to get through his seizures (that way those episodes can have more detailed scenes). If you want to know what to do if you ever encounter a person suffering from a seizure, please look it up! It's very important you don't necessarily do what's mentioned in this story. Notes by the end of the chapter with tips! I do NOT advise in anyway how to handle a seizure, it's all fiction.

⚠️ Trigger warning ⚠️
___________

Jason ended up picking a random Disney movie for the little group of boys to watch. He doesn't pratically enjoy Disney movies, but the eyes that were shooting daggers into him the entire time he was debating what to pick told him that it should be a kids movie. However, most Disney movies are actually pretty good, so he didn't mind it much.

They have all settled in the living room, Travis, Hunter and Jimmy are on the couch, Simon and Noah have taken up the two comfy chairs beside the couch and Joshua has decided to sit down on the floor and lean against Travis's legs. Jason sighed and took the floor as well, but instead of leaning against someone he chose to lean against the armrest instead. Honestly, he doesn't want anyone to touch him if he can avoid it so he keeps a strict eye on Hunter the entire time.

That boy clearly has some trouble staying in his lane and Jason is not a fan of that at all. The movie begins and the entire time Jason has to bite his lip or pinch his nose because Jimmy won't stop spoiling every scene that's about to happen. Reminder why Jason chose this job again? Money. Money. Money.

After about an hour through the movie, the group has mostly been silent. Only few comments and laughters have erupted, indicating that this movie actually isn't too bad. However, when Jason is almost about to doze off and awkwardly drop his head with tiredness, he sees a hand in the corner of his eye. The hand belongs to Travis who reaches down and gently taps Joshua on the shoulder. The said male looks back, studying Travis's face for any signs of discomfort.

Without even a word being said, Joshua stands up and grabs around Travis's shoulders, helping the boy stand on his legs. Jason's eye follows them confused as they walk towards the side of the room. Most of the other guys aren't really paying attention, they are watching the movie like nothing is going on. But that look on Travis's face tells Jason that there's definetly something up. He looked slightly pale, his eyes droopy and it's almost as if he was lost in another world.

"Jason, come here," Joshua calls. It makes Jason flinch in surprise and he slowly gets up to join them. Travis is now lying down on the ground on a small mattress that Jason didn't notice before now, a pillow supporting his head.

"He's having an episode right now, it will be good if you watch what you have to do," Joshua explains. Oh. That makes sense, of course Travis is having a seizure right now. Jason feels stupid for not figuring that out, but to be honest he has never seen a seizure unfold before him before. "As you saw, he knows when the episode is about to happen and he will get in touch with you before that..."

Joshua waves a hand in front of Travis's face to demonstrate for Jason that there's absolutely no contact between earth and the brown-haired male at the moment. He's staring ahead into nothing and Jason is kind of freaked out to be honest.

"It's good to start massaging his neck and pressing his head down, it can tone down the attacks just a little," just when Joshua explains that, Travis's body starts to tense. It's like numerous reflexes have been put into overlead and the poor boy starts trashing around. His arms shake extremely much and Joshua has to hold them down at one point to make sure they won't hit them or potentially bang against the grund. He's not allowed to stop the movement or force Travis to do certain things. But for his own safety, he needs to make sure he won't accidently hit anything.

"Get some paper," Joshua says as he holds a hand against Travis's head and gently presses it down against the pillow. The boy is starting to drool as his body constantly makes uncontrolable movements and flinches. His eyes are rolled back and his face is grimacing painfully.

Honestly, it's a hard thing to look at.

Jason quickly goes to the kitchen and grabs some napkins, bringing them back and handing them over to Joshua. He gently start removing the drool from Travis's lip and makes sure his body parts aren't hitting anything and potentially hurting himself. Jason's eyes keep studying the boy before him in shock for those 5 or 10 minutes it takes for the seizure to pass.

When Travis's body finally starts calming down and his arms are no longer stiff and shaking, Joshua starts running his hand through the brunette's hair, most likely to try and calm him down.

"Now the seizure is over, but his body and mind is so exhausted he's still uncontactable for half an hour or so. Just keep making sure he's breathing normally and not hyperventilating," Joshua instructs. Jason nods quickly and looks down at Travis again. Indeed, the boy is completely pale and he's taking deep, slow breath. He heaves for air as if there barely anything left, it looks strained and painful.

"The seizures are very different from time to time. Sometimes they take up to 30 minutes and he's almost impossible to control without getting hit a few times, on other occasions they take 5 minutes and he's almost not moving but just tense," Joshua begins,"I would appreciate if you wrote down somewhere how he's seizures are on certain days, it might be a way to find better treatment for him."

"Okay," Jason simply states. There's a lot for him to take in, it's not easy getting used to seeing a person fight his own body like that. It's like Travis wasn't even there but his body was being possessed or something.

Travis closes his mouth for a second and licks his lips. His head moves a little around in confusion almost as if he's trying to figure out if every limp is working the way it's supposed to. His eyes are still empty and he's definetly not back to earth mentally, but his body is returning to normal. When he lies still again, the deep breathing continues together with Joshua's hand just calmly running through the younger boy's hair.

"All in all, you just have to make sure his arms and legs won't hit anything. This is very important if the seizure happens in a car or other small areas where he can collide against something. At school, it would be best to find an empty classroom where there's a lot of space," Joshua says and smiles softly at Jason. He knows this job isn't easy, not mentally or qhysically, but he has a feeling Jason won't have too much trouble taking care of Travis. He's one of the easiest when it comes to episodes as long as they stay somewhat normal. If he hyperventilates, it's more serious and they will most likely call an ambulance.

"Why do they happen?" Jason asks.

"There's no specific answer, but lightening or certain words can trigger him, but other times he just gets them randomly. He doesn't know why he gets triggered, but he has had seizures since he was 7 and now he has just given up on knowing why they happen... it can be his body that simply doesn't work the way it should at all times," Joshua tells softly. Travis is the first resident of this house and Joshua has taken care of him almost like a father.

Jason nods and looks back at the boy on the floor. He must go through this twice a day? That must be absolutely terrible, Jason doesn't even want to imagine how much it would piss him off. Now he gets why Travis isn't exactly the most positive individual here, considering he has to deal with that every day.

"Don't think too much about it, Travis has learned to live with it and he is getting treatment. Someday it might subside." Indeed, it can go away with time or at least be descreased to maybe once a week or once a month. Jason doesn't pity the other, but it must really be terrible living a life like this.

"Can you look out for him while I get some medicin? Just ask Noah if anything happens, he will help," Joshua says and stands up. Jason just nods, he has to get used to it either way. With a small gulp and a hesitant posture, he gently let's his hand rest on the side of Travis's neck, putting a little pressure there.

The boy doesn't react at all aside from his eyes blinking a little, so Jason feels himself calm down at that. He feels the soft, warm skin underneath his fingertips and he's immedietly weirded out. He doesn't think he has ever touched another guy's face like this before and it will get hard to get used to. To care for someone in such a way.

The other guys are still watching movies as if nothing has happen, it seems like they are very used to this. The scene of Travis's seizure was scary, terrifying even. Jason doesn't know if he will ever adjust fully to it, but it will hopefully get easier.

Travis takes a deep breath and closes his eyes, making it hard for Jason to not stare at him in case he wakes up. The brunette's lashes are long, his skin is smooth but the bags under his eyes give away that he's tired.

Really fucking tired.

If you want to see a seizure in real life, here's a video you can watch. Travis's seizures might be a little different, but this is the concept:

Support this girl, she's so nice😭

Travis can also have seizures where he's just sitting and staring ahead, and other times his body acts out. I will try to describe it as well as I possibly can!

Tips: (source: webmd.com)
- Keep other people out of the way
- Clear hard or sharp objects from the person
- Don't try to hold them down or stop the movement!
- Place them on their side, to help keep their airway clear
- Don't put anything in their mouth

[I have never seen or experienced a seizure, so I can not say if these tips are correct or not. Therefore, make sure to look up how to deal with a seizure!]

Thanks for reading, see you next chapter💜
