{33} THE ROGUE BLUDGER ACCIDENT

Scene Fade to a Quidditch match between Gryffindor and Slytherin. The Slytherins are zooming around at high speed, dominating on their superior brooms.

The cheerful ambiance in the room was uplifted by the sounds of the cheering audience emanating from the screen, prompting a collective sense of relief and anticipation. Sirius, exuberant with joy, cheered loudly, eagerly seeking reassurance from Mia about her continued role as the Seeker for the team. With a warm smile, Mia acknowledged his excitement, which momentarily led her to wistfully imagine how her late parents would have reacted in a similar situation.

"Yes, Sirius, I'm still the Seeker," Mia replied, her smile encompassing a mix of reassurance and lightheartedness.

Sirius's enthusiastic response was palpable as he fist-bumped the air and exclaimed, "Yes! I love this game even more now!" His cheerful voice resonated throughout the room, reflecting the shared thrill of the upcoming Quidditch scenes.

"Replace Mia as our Seeker? Like we would even consider that. She's the best there is," Wood scoffed with a hint of incredulity, almost outraged at the mere suggestion that he would entertain the idea of replacing Mia as the Gryffindor Seeker.

"I'm a good player, but I'm sure I'm not the best there is," Mia humbly remarked, her cheeks tinted with a delicate shade of pink, as she attempted to downplay Wood's ardent praise.

"Are you kidding me?" Angelina asked in disbelief, while several students directed their attention towards Mia. "You thought that you are only okay? You're literally one of the best."

"Mia, you are the best Seeker there is," Cho asserted carefully, her words carrying a tone of sincere admiration.

Uncertain of how to navigate the sudden focus on her abilities, Mia gently steered the conversation back to the movie, her embarrassment evident. "Let's just watch the movie," she suggested, hoping to redirect the attention and immerse herself in the familiar narrative unfolding on-screen. Her blush deepened, revealing her discomfort with the unexpected limelight.

Lee: Another goal for Slytherin! [he updates the scoreboard] They lead Gryffindor ninety to thirty!
Slytherin player: Yes! Yeah! [The Slytherins fly around the stadium in a victory formation. In the stands, Snape and Lucius are seated next to each other.]

The Gryffindors booed at the Slytherins on-screen, expressing their disdain for their rival house. Sirius eagerly joined in, amplifying the uproar. Remus, however, shook his head, clearly frustrated with his best friend's behavior, pinching the bridge of his nose in exasperation.

Amidst the commotion, Mia, Hermione, and Ron shared amused smiles, finding Sirius and Remus's antics rather entertaining.

On the other side, the Slytherins simply smirked, reveling in the memory of their lead, a subtle sense of satisfaction lingering in their expressions.

Draco: [to Mia] All right there, Scarhead? [A Bludger nearly hits Mia.]
Oliver: Watch yourself, Mia! [The Bludger turns back on Mia.]

"You bastard," Fred and George commented in response to Draco's words, expressing their disdain for his remarks.

Mia: Wood, look out! [The Bludger strikes Oliver's broom as it takes off after Mia, chasing her around the stadium. In the stands, Hagrid is watching through his binoculars.]

Everyone winced as Wood took a hit and fell, with some recalling their own Quidditch mishaps and wincing in sympathy, while others simply winced at the sight of the impact, feeling a sense of empathy for the unfortunate turn of events.

Hagrid: [lowering the binoculars] Blimey, Mia's got herself a rogue Bludger! That's been tampered with, that has!
Ron: [raising his wand] I'll stop it!

"NO!" Several yelled out loud and jumped up from their seats in fear, particularly the adults, as they vividly remembered Ron's damaged wand and the potential consequences of another mishap.

Hermione: [pushing Ron's wand down] No! Even with a proper wand, it's too risky. You could hit Mia.

Many let out sighs of relief at the resolution, and Mia, expressing her gratitude to Hermione, turned to her friends and said, "Thank you, Hermione. No offense, Ron," while casting a reassuring glance at her friends.

Ron, understanding Mia's sentiment, responded, "None taken, I would say the same."

Mia flies around wildly as the Bludger continues to pursue her around the stadium.

Dread filled the Hall as a tangible unease settled over the room. While some individuals had been present for the previous events, others were experiencing them for the first time. Regardless, the prevailing concern unified the group as they worried for the young Seeker's well-being.

Draco: You'll never catch me, Potter! [Up ahead of them, Colin Creevey snaps a photograph of Mia and Draco as they fly over him. Colin then ducks just in time to avoid being hit by the Bludger. Back inside the trench, the Bludger begins bouncing uncontrollably off the walls. Eventually, Draco loses control of his broom, flying out of the trench and crashing into the grass.]

Gasps and winces filled the Hall, resonating with fear and concern for the young Seeker's well-being. Among the distressed crowd, Narcissa gasped and felt panic rise through her body, overwhelmed by fear for her son's safety. In an instinctual response, she grabbed Draco's hand tightly, seeking reassurance and comfort. Feeling his mother's distress, Draco squeezed her hand in return, conveying that he was present and safe, sitting right beside her.

"Mother, I'm fine," Draco whispered, trying to reassure her.

Narcissa looked at him with worry in her eyes. "I know, but I can't help but worry," she replied in a hushed tone, her grip on his hand not loosening.

Much of the crowd is alarmed, but Lucius just seems to be coldly disappointed by his son's performance.

Narcissa's eyes narrowed as she directed a disapproving glare at her husband, her voice barely above a whisper as she scolded him. "Lucius, this isn't the moment for your disappointment. Our son was hurt."

Lucius's expression remained stoic as he countered, "He could have dodged it, Narcissa."

Sighing softly, Narcissa shook her head, the concern evident in her gaze as she returned her focus to the screen, her fingers trembling as they clenched the armrest of her chair.

[Outside the trench now, Mia reaches for the Snitch, but the Bludger hits her in the arm. Clutching her right arm to her chest, she grabs the Snitch with her left hand as she comes in for a crash landing.]

Gasps resonated throughout the room, blending with the collective concern of the onlookers. However, amidst the shock, a wave of silence washed over the audience, leaving the space tense and charged with apprehension.

As the Bludger struck Mia's arm, a chorus of gasps erupted, followed by exclamations of distress and worry.

"Oh my god, are you alright?"

"How did you survive that?"

The heartfelt exclamations from fellow students reverberated through the room, underscoring the gravity of the situation and the depth of concern for Mia's well-being.

Hermione: Let's go. [Ron, Hermione, and Hagrid begin leaving the stands. Mia holds up the Snitch.]
Lee: Mia Potter has caught the Snitch. Gryffindor wins!

"YES!" Sirius leaped out of his seat, his jubilation uncontainable as he began to dance around the room, a radiant smile lighting up his face. Remus shook his head in bemusement, a resigned expression crossing his features as he pinched the bridge of his nose.

A handful of Gryffindors joined in Sirius's celebration, their cheers merging with his exuberant dance. However, the euphoria of the moment overshadowed the memory of what transpired with Mia, as the joy of the victory swept through the room, temporarily eclipsing other concerns.

[The Bludger continues trying to pound Mia, but she manages to keep dodging it. Ron, Hermione, and Hagrid make it on to the field.]

The Hall reverberated with loud exclaims of fear and worry as the unsettling events unfolded on the screen. Sirius, overcome by the rush of emotions, briefly succumbed to the intensity of the moment, only to quickly regain his composure. However, the sheer magnitude of fear and concern prompted him to once again succumb to the overwhelming suspense.

As the commotion continued, everyone's attention remained fixed on the unfolding chaos. Bill expressed his confusion, questioning the inexplicable behavior of the Bludger. "What's wrong with this Bludger?" he inquired, his voice carrying a lingering sense of bewilderment.

Oliver, his brow furrowed with concern, interjected with a grim realization. "It's as if someone directed it to harm Mia," he stated, his tone tinged with a mix of disbelief and dismay.

Hermione: Finite Incantatem! [The rogue Bludger blows up.]

"Thank you Hermione!" Remus directed his words to Hermione who smiled in return. "But Why did you allow a rogue Bludger to pursue Mia without intervening? Why was it left to Hermione, a second year student at the time, to come to her aid? Your role as teachers is to safeguard the students, yet you failed once again," Remus's voice echoed with a deep-seated outrage as he directed his pointed questions at the staff of Hogwarts. His eyes bore into each faculty member, demanding an explanation for the negligence that had exposed Mia to danger.

The teachers exchanged uneasy glances, grappling with the weight of Remus's accusations and the absence of a satisfactory response. Their collective sighs resonated with a profound sense of resignation, acknowledging their inability to justify their actions in the face of such impassioned condemnation.

Sirius's tone dripped with sarcasm as he observed their reaction, his disappointment evident in his piercing gaze. "You don't have an answer? It's reassuring to see how you fulfill your duty to protect the children entrusted to your care," he remarked sardonically, his distrust evident.

"Remus, Sirius," she began, her voice insistent yet tinged with an undercurrent of concern, "I'm alright. It was a frightening moment, but I t through. I don't want you to blame anyone but the person who did it, even though he did it for my own protection, but whatever, I'm safe, and that's what's important." Her gaze shifted from Remus to Sirius, her eyes pleading for them to understand.

The room fell silent as Mia's words hung in the air, her sincerity and resilience cutting through the tension. Remus regarded her with a mix of concern and regret, his earlier outrage tempered by her unwavering assurance. Sirius met her gaze, his own eyes reflecting a blend of relief and contrition as he took in her composed demeanor.

Tonks glanced at Mia, her brow furrowed with concern as she sought clarity on Mia's enigmatic statement. "What do you mean, for your own protection?" she inquired, her eyes reflecting a mix of curiosity and worry. The others in the room fixed their gaze on Mia, their expressions a blend of anticipation and concern, awaiting her response.

Mia met Tonks's gaze with a steady look, acknowledging the unspoken questions that hung in the air. "It's a complicated matter, and I promise to explain everything later on," she replied, her tone tinged with determination.

[Ron, Hermione, and Hagrid run to Mia as Lockhart runs to him followed by another group of students.]

"Oh, no. Can we please, please, get rid of him?" Mia pleaded, her voice laced with urgency and concern.

"Why?" Colin inquired, his confusion evident.

Mia's frustration boiled over as she sought to convey the severity of the situation. "Why!? You ask why?! Have you forgotten what happened?!" she exclaimed, the incredulity and outrage palpable in her words. "If you forget, you will see why I want to get rid of him in about a minute," she declared, her gaze fixed on the screen with a mixture of apprehension and determination.

Mia: [as her friends reach her] Thank you, really thank you.

Hermione smiled at Mia who smiled back.

Hermione: Are you okay?
Mia: No. I think my... I think my arm's broken.

Many winced collectively, empathy evident in their pained expressions as they observed Mia's broken arm. Each face reflected a mix of concern and sympathy for Mia.

Lockhart: [kneeling down beside Mia] Not to worry, Mia. I will fix that arm of yours straight away.
Mia: No. Not you. Please don't touch my arm.
Lockhart: Poor girl. Doesn't know what she's saying. Now, this... [pulls back Mia's sleeve] won't hurt a bit.

"Yes, she does!" Ron and Hermione affirmed in unison, their synchronized response drawing concerned looks from Molly, Sirius, Arthur, and Remus. The shared earnestness in their voices hinted at a recent event that had now sparked the attention of the older members present, stirring a sense of unease and curiosity among everyone.

[Ron and Hermione glance at Hagrid worriedly; he gives them a reassuring look as Lockhart pulls out his wand and points it at Mia's arm] Brackium Emendo.

"He didn't."Remus exclaimed in disbelief.

[his wand emits a blue light, which then recedes; Lockhart drops his wand and lifts Mia's arm, which is now limp and slushy; Ron and the other students groan in disgust; even Hermione is repulsed]

"Ew!" came in unison from several students around the room, followed by wincing and flinching as they reacted to the sight of Hayley's injured arm. The collective response in the room reflected a mix of disgust and discomfort, as the students grappled with the unsettling sight before them.

Lockhart: Yes, well, that can sometimes happen. But, uh... the point is... [moves Mia's limp right hand back] you can no longer feel any pain. And, very clearly, the bones are not broken.

"There are no bone left!" George said.

Mia: There is no bone left in my arm, you twat. [She whispered the last part as she looked at her arm is disbelief]

Laughter erupted throughout the room at Mia's reaction, with even a faint smile appearing on Snape's typically stoic face.

"Language, young girl," Sirius playfully reprimanded his goddaughter, his eyes twinkling with amusement as he addressed her slip. The sound of his light-hearted scolding elicited further chuckles and grins from those present, infusing a touch of levity into the tense atmosphere. Mia's own sheepish smile indicated that she understood the teasing was all in good fun.

Lockhart: Much more flexible, though.
Mia: Take me to the hospital, please.

"Please do," Remus urged with a pained expression etched on his face, his concern apparent as he implored someone to take action.
