Long Tim

"Dang, that is a big dome," Y/n said, looking up at the dome they were currently standing in.

"It used to be the biggest dome," Tom said, looking up at the dome as well. "But that was in like 100 CE."

"Oh," Y/n said. "That was a long time ago," a small smile formed on her face as she whispered, "long tim."

Tom furrowed his eyebrows. "Long Tim?" he asked.

Y/n sighed, shaking her head in disappointment. "Have you ever watched The Office?" she asked.

Tom frowned. "Yeah, but what's that got to do with-" his eyes widened a bit in realization. "Oh-"

"You ruined a funny joke," Y/n frowned. "Get out of my offive."

Tom chuckled, putting an arm around Y/n's waist, pulling her close to him. Y/n felt her face heat up, making her more awkward than usual.

"What if I don't want to?" he whispered into her ear, her face heated up even more.

"Then I'll have to 'tweet tweet' you out," Y/n said, frowning.

Tom sighed, giving Y/n the chills, since Tom's mouth was still next to her ear. Tom could feel her squirm a bit, making him smirk.

"Why don't we move on," he suggested.

"Good plan," Y/n said, breaking out of his grip, walking around again.

Tom chuckled softly, following her.

When Y/n decided she was finished looking around, Tom spent an extra five minutes looking around, then leaving the Pantheon, going to get lunch.

"I'm assuming you know where to go," Tom said as they walked around.

"What-?" Y/n asked, as she had no clue what they were doing. "What am I doing?"

"Do you know any good restaurants?" Tom asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Oh- yeah," Y/n grinned. "You see, there's this one called-"

Tom smiled, as Y/n told him all about the restaurant she was showing him to.

Y/n L/n, his Broadway girl.

Soon to be Y/n Holland, but not yet.

"Oh, we're here," Y/n frowned as they approached the restaurant.

"You were just saying so many good things about this restaurant, Love," Tom said. "We're here now, and you seem less enthusiastic."

"I wasn't done talking about it, but now we're here," Y/n said, as they were seated and given menus.

"Well, what should I get?" Tom asked.

Y/n's eyes lit up again, exactly what he was hoping for.

"I'm glad you asked," she said, then started telling him about all of the different dishes they served there, as though she had been there a million times, even though it was her first time in the restaurant.

Once they finished eating, Tom brought her to the Spanish Steps.

"More stairs?" Y/n groaned, looking at the one hundred thirty-six steps in front of her.

"Hey, this one isn't that bad," Tom said. "They're not very steep, plus judging by the look of it, you can stop wherever."

Y/n nodded slowly, she did like that.

"I guess we should start climbing then," she said, with a small smile.

Tom smiled back and they started walking up the steps, making their way to the top.

"Shoot, Tom didn't say they were coming here," Ivy said, panicking.

"Ivy, calm down," Dylan said, kissing her cheek, "We'll just leave very quickly and fast."

Ivy's face was flushed, but she nodded.

Dylan grabbed her hand and they quickly made it back to their parents.

"We have to leave," Dylan said. "Tom and Y/n are currently walking up the stairs- although I'm surprised he got her to climb this many stairs."

"He's Tom Holland, he has that kind of effect on girls," Ivy said.

"Does he have that effect on you?" Dylan asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Yeah," she shrugged. Then whispering, to only Dylan, "But yours is stronger."

Dylan felt his face heat up but turned to his parents. "If I know Y/n, as well as I, think I do, she's going to be taking more than one break," he said. "But we should leave anyway, I would not like another angry call from Tom."

They ended up leaving, passing a Versace store.

"Imagine being rich," Dylan said glumly as they passed it.

"You'll get there one day," Ivy said, putting a hand on his shoulder. "Why don't you text Tom and tell him he's stupid."

"Why?"

"If you make him feel bad enough, he might buy you something," Ivy shrugged. "But then again, he's also one who used the fact that Y/n's in college to get a deal."

"When did that happen?" Dylan asked, pulling his phone out.

"When she went to London," Ivy said, it was obvious. "It was the first time she went, it was Tom and Haz's idea, at least that's what Harrison told me. So, he could've lied, I don't know."

"Oh, I didn't know that," Dylan said, then texting Tom. "How does this sound?"

"Hey, stupid head, I'm really glad you decided to tell us that you and my sister were going to be at the Spanish Steps because if we were seen by her, it would've been your fault, thanks, your future brother in law."

"Dylan you don't have to end like that," Ivy frowned. "It's a text, 'stupid head'."

"Doesn't that make it sound like I'm mad though?" Dylan said. "If it's more formal, then it sounds angrier."

"No," Ivy sighed. "You sound like someone angry, but doesn't like being rude to people."

Ivy took Dylan's phone, deleting the last part, then sending the text to Tom.

"Hey stupid head," Tom muttered, reading the text.

"Did Dylan text you?" Y/n asked. "That's something only Dylan would text as a seventeen-year-old kid."

"Ps please buy me some Versace," Tom read. "Yeah, it was Dylan."

"He wants Versachi huh?" Y/n asked. "You should not get him some, that would piss him off."

"Whatever you say, Love," Tom said, as they continued walking to the top.

*time skip brought to you by how much money i have (69 cents)*

Later that night, the sun was starting to set, as Tom led Y/n around the city, bringing her to get some gelato.

"I love gelato," Y/n said, a warm smile on her face. "And I love you, even more than gelato."

"Oh really," Tom chuckled, as they walked into a shop.

They ordered their gelato, Y/n getting an (i'm not deciding for you, you're old enough (I hope)), while Tom got Stracciatella (it's basically vanilla ice cream on steroids with hardened chocolate swirled in it, it's superior to all ice cream) and pistachio.

"Oh how I've missed gelato," Y/n sighed, eating her gelato.

"Love, we ate gelato yesterday," Tom said, raising an eyebrow.

"I know, I know," Y/n said. "But it's been three years since I've had authentic Italian gelato, I have to take it in. I wish we had it in America, it's just so much better than ice cream."

"I bet they have a couple of places," Tom said, as they walked up the street.

"Yeah, but I can't just take a walk and find one," Y/n frowned. "It doesn't work like that-"

Y/n stopped, they were at the street "entrance" to see the Trevi Fountain.

"I've always wanted to see this," she said, staring at the fountain. "I've seen amazing pictures of the fountain, but it's so much prettier to see in person."

"Just like you," Tom smirked.

"Yeah, just like me- wait that's incorrect," Y/n said, furrowing her eyebrows. "Smooth one, Holland."

"Thank you, L/n," Tom said, putting an arm around her shoulders, holding her close.

Y/n's heart did a flip, as Tom pressed a kiss on her forehead.

Was this the night?

Did Tom finally get the hint?

They stood watching the fountain, eating their gelato (Y/n's face got increasingly warmer every time Tom went to eat some of his since it was as though he was giving her an awkward hug).

Y/n was waiting for the moment when Tom would finally man up and get down on one knee.

Tom was admiring the scene, feeling happy having Y/n next to him.

"D'you want a picture?" Tom asked, after a couple of minutes.

Not the question Y/n was anticipating, but she would never say no to Tom's photography.

They got their pictures and went back to watching the people who were up close to the fountain do stupid things.

Y/n eventually forgot what she was waiting for, enjoying the presence of Tom with her, looking at the fountain.

"Are you ready to go?" Tom asked.

"No," Y/n said, her eyes still on the fountain. "I would rather stand here some more."

"We don't have much on our agenda tomorrow," Tom said. "We can come back and admire it again- of course not forgetting some gelato."

"I'd love that."
