Digging-

(WARNING: It's gonna get dark-)

Red slept through the whole day thanks to a headache, so Yellow took her chances. With Green's help and a few neighbors, they went in and cleaned up Red's place. There was a box upstairs, which had clothes and a dagger. The good news, there was no blood on it. There was more evidence of a pillow's murder. Green chuckled at the sight of the dagger.

"I can show you where we buried the pillow." Yellow chuckled at that. "I'm serious. Back when Blue was a little saner and Red wasn't doing too well, she suggested he take his pain and rage out on a pillow. We actually planned the whole murder out and did it."

"Man, that sounds like fun."

"That's when Red started cheering up. Then..." Green sighed. "Still. Fond memories." She noticed he dazed out before snapping himself back to reality. "Anyway... The cleaning's getting there." She hummed.

"There's a box full of clothes upstairs. The bed's hardly intact..." He gulped.

"I'll be surprised if he ever took care of this house. But if his mental health was as bad as I'm believing, then I can see why." One of the neighbors paused.

"Red had an abusive parent... right?"

"His dad was... weird. He showed signs of abuse and all that, but Red never talks about that stuff because I don't think he ever got hit. His mother had protection and connection issues though." The neighbor stood up, revealing a gun.

"So which one owned this?" Yellow gulped.

"If I remember the therapy, Red said he only remembered hearing a gun once." Green paused.

"I don't ever think we found out what happened to his parents. Police never said anything and Red never asked. I think he started closing himself in after that. So either one of the parents used it or they got shot by someone else." Silence emerged as one of Yellow's neighbors came from the kitchen.

"Take a look at this. It's the only thing that was neat in the whole house." Green took the papers from her.

"Gun registration... under the mother. This says she was supposed to own a rifle." He glanced at the second paper. "Gun registration... no name. Well, it's crossed off." The female gulped.

"You can still read the pen marks on the back of the paper." They glanced at her. "Unless the dad shared the name, it says Red. Says he has the handgun." Yellow paused.

"Maybe that's what happened. Someone snapped, got the family riled up, a gun got fired. Then when the police looked into it, they kept it quiet for the sake of the survivor."

"Or... They couldn't arrest the shooter. I mean, we don't even know if the parents are dead." The male paused.

"I wonder if he let the place rot because of what happened. I mean, just moving a few pizza boxes revealed the gun." Green paused.

"The mess seems centered in that area." Yellow hummed.

"Here, you guys keep digging. I'm going to grab that box and get Red to look through it. I won't mention you guys."

~~~
Red woke up at lunch, slowly searching the box. She made him some soup as he searched through. He first seemed to be looking for something specific before she spoke.
"I have the dagger if that's what you're looking for." He paused. "Green saw it and mentioned something about a pillow." Red smiled.
"That was the only thing I remember was in this box. I was going to see if it still had the evidence of the pillow."
"It does. That poor pillow didn't deserve it." He chuckled as she went over and placed it on top of the pile. "I just didn't want you to go dark on me." He smiled.
"Yeah... I get that. But this knife has a past that makes it so hard to use on skin." She smiled as he placed it next to him and went through the box.
Somewhere in the middle she joined him with the soup. He took his time with it while she looked over the clothes.
"A lot of this looks like it would fit a little boy."
"I never went out and got new clothes. I got a lot of hand-me-downs." She paused. "Ok, maybe not a lot. I got an outfit each year until two years ago." She hummed.
"Well, that'll change. You can't wear the same thing every year." He nodded as he finished the soup. Then he put the clothes back, placed the knife on top, and got comfy on the couch. She smiled. "Already tired?" He nodded softly before drifting off. With a steady breath, she slipped out.
~~~

"Not a thing?"

"Got him on the knife and he was quiet about the rest." She paused. "He never mentioned anything else. I guess he thought I just went and got the box." Green scoffed before a hysterical laugh filled the air.

"I'm going to smack her." Yellow hummed before pausing. Green had already gone outside, so she called the other two to help her move the couch. It was in the weirdest locations, the back of it away from the wall, but it was still pushed against it. The others moved it before fear hit.

"That's what happened-" She gulped at the sight. A hole in the floor rested there where the couch was. And inside had two bodies. Green joined them as Yellow gulped.

"I doubt he was sleeping upstairs with the state of that bed. Which means he was sleeping just above them."

"No wonder he went cold on us. He was sleeping above bodies."

"And that's why the cops went quiet. Red was... young... and unaware of what happened."

"So the question is did he pull the trigger or not? Because there's two gun registrations and one gun here." Yellow gulped.

"Let's call a hospital to get the bodies and finish cleaning. I'll ask Red afterwards."

~~~
A police officer looked into the house before the bodies left. He made sure to look for the case file and what happened while they finished the cleaning and such. After fixing and cleaning the place up, Yellow went back to her place. Red was resting before she spoke.
"Hey." He kinda jerked awake before pausing.
"Hey..." She sat down beside him after he sat up. She took a few seconds before speaking.
"Can I ask you something... Personal?"
