"This isn't the time to take luxury naps!!" Darnell yelled over the chaos while stretching out her hands for me to grab. I rolled my eyes and accepted her help using my two hands to push myself up.

Wait what???? two hands?

I quickly turned to my side and noticed that Regina was no longer at my side.

"Where's Regina?" I asked as I trailed Darnell, who was running into an unknown part of the building.

"Well when you were busy on your Luxury nap"- I scoffed and she continued " Sally grabbed a hold of her and now they are waiting for us"

"Now move those pretty legs of yours, this place is about to get packed with guards"

I did as I was told and tried to increase my pace to match hers. The path she was taking was completely unfamiliar to me. We hadn't really encoutered any guards yet and those we did encounter paid no attention to us as we pretended to be among the frantically screaming that were scattered round the organisation.

We had eventually reached a flight of stairs that were hidden behind one of the typical white painted metal doors that we had in this organisation. The room was dimly lit with only a yellow flickering bulb, providing the only source of light. She took the steps two at a time and urged me to come with her.

We went down two more flights of stairs before we came across yet another door with several flights of stairs. I instantly recognised what her intentions were. We were going to climb down the fire escape.

"Is this safe?" I asked while looking down at the thousands of stairs we had to jump.

"I would swim the pacific naked if it means leaving this goddamned place" she replied.

At that moment, Regina, Sally and Natasha came out from behind a large wooden box that was placed at the far end under the stairs.

"Reggie!" I screamed.

"Shhhhh" Sally said motioning me with her hand on her lips

"They might be on to us already so its now or never"

I wouldn't wait to be told twice. I ran my fingers across my neck to find out that, I indeed had the necklace this time. I breathed out a sigh of relieve while grabbing onto Reggie's hands once more. This was the first time that I had been outside over the past two weeks of being cooked up in that organization.

The fire escape led to the back of the building. The entire place was fenced with barbed wires lining the fences. We still had more than five flight of stairs to jump. Sally and Darnell were infront as they skipped the steps like their lifes depended on it. Well it kinda did. Loud footsteps echoed from behind us and I knew that could not be a good sign. They had indeed caught up with us.

Regina and I had only one more flight of stairs to jump as Sally and Darnell had already reached the ground and were running towards the fence. The poor lighting made it increasingly difficult for us to see where we were headed.

"Kylie, Kylie!!" Regina yelled in between pants.

"I c-c-ant conti-i-nue!, I can barely stand anymore" she whinned

"Well, put a sock in it, cause there is nothing I can do"

Sally and Darnell were fairly ahead of us and we really needed to catch up. Natasha was still trying to catch up and was screaming for us to wait for her. I used the time to catch my breath until I heard a loud boom resonanting from behind us. I instantly picked up my pace and grabbed Regina along with me.
I looked back only to see Natasha falling from the steps until she finally hit the metal wedge of the stairs. Some guards were directly behind her swiflty lifting her back up the fire escape and into the building. A tear escaped my eyes as I ran faster than my legs could carry. Darnell had stopped running and was infront of the fence. I had to squint my eyes to see that there was a lock on the gate that led out of this place. She brought out a pin from her hair and tried to pick the locks, but the last set of guards were hot on our hills.

As if the switch in her head had been activated, she swifly brought out the gun she had tucked into her back pocket and shot the lock. The lock fell to the floor. And the gate swung open with a loud creek as Sally kicked the gate open.
All that could been seen was a vast empty clearing of land. We ran as fast as our legs could carry us. Until we stumbled upon a dirt path. My legs were becoming unbearably weak. We had no plans, no food, no money, no shelter, and no means of communication.
We were officially dead on arrival. Regina was becoming incredibly slow and I had to put my arms around her to support her from not toppling over.

We had been running for over an hour, and the road became increasingly dark and difficult to see. We had eventually come out of a lonely high way and gave ourselves a few minutes to rest along the sides of the road.

"Darnie?"

"Yeah?" She answered.

"How'd you learn to use a gun like that? you looked like it wasnt the first time" I asked

"Well I guess, you guys don't know anything about me. I grew up with parents who were in the Mafia and once I turned 12 I always trained with my Dad. It has been the only life I've known." She paused to sit up from her former position of laying down and continued.

"Two months ago, while Mom, Dad and I were having lunch in our not so fancy neighborhood. These men barged into our home and demanded the money for their last operation and some silly chip, but Dad and Mom said they didn't have it but they didnt believe him and shot dad first. Mom shouted at me to run and I escaped through the window, not before I heard a second gunshot"

Tears cascaded down her face and it was the first time I had actually seen her lose her cool. She never cried and always kept a neutral expression about everything.

"Then, how did these bastards get you, if you escaped?"

"Regina, I dont think she should ans..."

"No it's okay, this is actually the most emotion I've shown since Mom and Dad died" Darnell answered.

"After escaping from the window, I jumped a few roofs which was easy to do cause we lived in East Flatbush here in Brooklyn. Its a very shady neighborhood where mostly drug dealers stay and we lived in the slums around there. Bottom line is, I didnt get far before some guys caught up with me and threw me in the back of a Black SUV, and sedated me thats how I woke up in that devils Liar"

"I don't know what to say Darnie, but I'm happy we are out now, and we are never going back" I put my hands on her shoulders and gave it a light squeeze. It wasn't as if my case was any better than hers.

Finally we saw a Red pick up truck approaching from the other side of the road. Sally convinced us to try and get the drivers attention by waving our hands. We all got up and did so until the driver finally slowed down.

He was wearing a black hoodie making it difficult for us to see his face. He rolled down his window glass and asked us what the problem was. Something about him was oddly striking, I tried squinting my eyes and I came up with nothing so I dismissed the thought.

Darnell started "Please can you help us with a ride out of here and into town? Our car broke down a while back and we have no way to leave here"

We all kept silent as she kept formulating stories.

"Well, I wouldn't mind helping damsels in distress, hop in" the driver said with a faint smirk on his lips. That voice!!!

I got into the front sit, while Darnell, Sally and Regina got in the back and he began moving. I was slightly relieved that he wasn't heading in the direction we had just came from.

He then switched on his lights, to tune the radio, that was when I saw a spec of blonde peeking out of his hoodie, before he decided to pull it off and turned to face me.

Ohhhhh shit!!!!

The driver was the blonde haired guy that was there when my parents were murdered.
