When I feel grumpy

As day blends to night

And my self pity

Bubbles with sharp bites

My patience has drained

And body feels raw

Need some soft comfort

Upon which to draw

Sometimes a movie

Can erase mind's fray

Humor and chuckles

Good way to close day

Soak in warm water

Will wash dirt away

Both from my body

And from my mind's sway

Or read a good book

While snuggled in bed

Escape to dreamland

Where feelings weave threads

Drift on a journey

Of musical notes

And soothe my rawness

With heartwarming quotes

Sometimes feel grateful

To be all alone

Have freedom to choose

What soothes weary bones
