Do not search for happiness

     for it cannot be found

Nor can it slip through fingers

     like lost toy on playground

Happiness does not exist

     in money that is earned

Nor can happiness be lost

      in things that can be burned

Everything outside of self

      changes as time rolls past

Happiness cannot be stored

     in things that are amassed

Happiness is only grown

      deep in a caring heart

Take a step and plant love's seed

     and sprout a joyful start

Infuse with spirit's guidance

     weed out fear's attitude

Water with compassion's glow

     and feed with gratitude

Happiness will bloom inside

     when love and hope is sown

World will harvest happiness

     grown in heart's garden zone
