Just because we hear

Does not mean we understand

Intent in sender's sphere

For words can send up smoke

Obscure our task at hand

And both sides choke on feelings

And war is quickly planned

Checkout our assumptions

Make sure our meaning's clear

Words are used in different ways

Echo intent we hear

And when we understand

Intent behind each word

We can work on harmony

And peace that is not blurred
