Orchestra of crickets

Pit, pat on fading leaves

Rainy Sunday morning

Feel dampness as it weaves

Grateful for hushed morning

Traffic sounds are few

Tiny chirps of cardinals

A distant train's choo-choo

Hear soft click of squirrel nails

And thud of critter's paws

Sneaking up deck's staircase

Collecting nuts in jaws

Slowly sky grows lighter

As showers move away

Drips and drops of water

Calm entry for my day
