Feel Good Inc

Annie had somehow managed to avoid most of the conflict which seemed to occur. She had rather spent her time helping trapped civilians down from buildings and destroying the odd rogue robot as it attempted to commit mass murder. Therefore, when she finally reappeared back in the centre of the town to find the hellicarriers she thought had been destroyed in the downfall of shield she assumed that things might slowly be coming to an end. Or at least she hoped it would be, she needed to spend more time at the gym otherwise as she was severely unfit.

The running around and exercising of her powers had drained any remaining energy she had at the time. She needed a big nap and another week of holiday from work. But she had a job to finish so as she ushered people towards what remained of the hellicarriers in order to get them to safety off the flying rock, she started to canvas the area for anyone who was stuck and she could get to easily.

Yet this time as she looked around, she would act upon an impulse she had no intent of ever ignoring. For in the centre of what used to probably be a very beautiful brick market square was her archer shielding a small boy using his body. A plane had begun firing bullets down upon the people still standing and they were quickly making their way in the direction of Clint and the small boy he held in his arms. He had turned his back towards the bullets in an attempt to shield the boy from harm and Annie knew he had only thought of saving the boy in the split moment. And despite seeing a blue blur in the distance Annie knew that it would not be enough. And she wouldn't allow herself to stand there stricken in shock when she could do something about it.

"No." She shouted, and without thinking any further regarding her actions, Annie focused her abilities and felt the familiar pull which came along with the telekinetic jumps or teleportation she had been perfecting over the last year or so working at the School.

She landed perhaps a meter and a half in front of the robots hand raised as she created a shimmering barrier. A strong enough barrier to protect those on the other side of it from the bullets which had only gotten closer and closer the second she had moved in the direction of the fire. And she watched as the bounced off the barrier one by one. That was until she noticed the one stray bullet which would not hit those on the other side of her shield but the same could not be said for her.

The stabbing pain was present the second the bullet collided with Annie Striking just below her rib cage she let out a hiss. The lightheadness was quick to settle in but she knew she couldn't drop the barrier whilst the bullets remained. And soon enough the firing stopped and the dust cleared enough for Annie to see that there was no further threat. She dropped the barrier and moved her hands now to her side where the bullet had pierced. A spot of which she had seen Clint shot in when they had first been in Sokovia. Her knees buckled beneath her as she went down with the pain, the lack of energy from exhausting her powers prior to this moment, was more than enough for her to feel the urge to just close her eyes. She didn't want to fight to stay awake at that moment in time, all she wanted to do was close them and hope that as she fell asleep the pain she was under would also stop.

Two loud gasps rang out from behind Annie as Pietro, who had been prepared to lose his life in that moment to save the archer and the small boy looked down to see that he had suffered no harm. And Clint who until this moment had his back turned was not only still alive but finally spotted the woman who he had been searching for, for a few hours now. He immediately placed the small kid down ushering him over to Pietro with a nod of his head in the direction of the hellicarrier as he rushed over to Annie. Upon arriving at her side, Annie was still conscious but he knew she wouldn't be for much longer. Not with the amount of blood she had lost.

"Annie?" he asked as he half focused on her and half attempted to make a plan to get her to the hellicarrier for urgent medical care.

"Are you hurt?" Annie asked back and he shook his head no giving a small laugh at the current situation.

"No, I'm okay the kids okay and Pietro is okay."

"Mission accomplished." Annie spoke and he watched as she started to close his eyes he only pressed harder down on her open wound as he spoke to her. "No, no keep those eyes awake my little cockroach." He muttered as he watched a medical team come out to them. They were a man down a very important man down. But as the stretcher arrived her eyes closed and Clint felt himself be rushed to the sides as the medical team began to work.
